QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) To be fair LCR, a lot of those bars are filled with Parkland kids. Not the local ones that go there, but the ones whose parents pay $10 grand to live at private housing on UIUC's campus, 10 miles away from their Junior College. :rolly really? I can't say I've ever run across alot of those. Those bars are filled with the greeks and with freshmen that don't know any better.

Shuttle buses from the western suburbs to the Cell

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 11:41 AM) I think Juggs suggested something similar to this a while back. it's crazy that it wasn't built years ago.....the track goes RIGHT by the stadium. -

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 11:37 AM) The answer to this question, lies on the other side of this link: Because I care thanks for the link. Looks like it's being built in typical chicago fashion. -

QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 05:59 AM) I totally agree and it's a great school... It's just my opinion that the academic goals of students at NW are not even in the same league as the academic goals of those at U of I. So not even so much a comparison of the schools themselves as much as the comparison of the students. i'll agree to that.

I'm pretty sure I remember metra finally saying that they were going to make a stop for the cell on the rock island track, is that going to be available this year? -
I really hope george mason beats up on Uconn like they deserve. You shouldn't be able to play like this and win.
-
and Uconn continues to pull games out of their ass.
-
uh....that was goaltending

LCR, you should come into some of the business classes I'm in. Completely full of greeks that think they're all going to be a CEO of some company. Here's one of my theories: If you're wearing a north face jacket, there's a 95% chance I hate you. You're right, there is an absolutely huge part of campus I dislike.....greatly. But the place is so big, you can't help but find your own niche, and that's what I love about it. It took me about 3 semesters to find it here, but I did and I've been loving it in champaign ever since.

QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 05:00 PM) They wish. comparing public to private is like apples to oranges. But it's one of the top public schools in the country, so as an in-state tuition option, it's hard to beat.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) Are you really serious? NU is the 12th ranked national university by US News. I wouldnt say U of I is comparable academically. 42nd I believe, 3rd public school.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) You can call Jenks solid based on what he did last year. Can he do it again is the question. with what we've been seeing of him this spring, the question is harder to answer.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) Back in the day, I was wait-listed, and offered deferred admission. I shouldn't have applied to the school of engineering (? I don't even remember anymore). Looking back on it. I probably should have accepted the deferred admission and had an extended summer, plus a semester of full-time grunt work somewhere, maybe getting some gen-eds out of the way at a CC. I probably would have been a lot better off for it. What did you major in at Iowa? My one friend in high school got a 32 on his ACT and got rejected from the college of engineering the year we applied ('04). Well on the other hand, I'm stuck in the college of LAS, I got rejected for my college of business transfer yesterday :banghead .

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) I think we should also give the pen a little time to actually see what happens. Yes, we're short but we still have 4 pretty damn good arms in there, and with our starters we aren't going to have to use the 5 and 6 guys in there that often in critical situations. It would be nice to get another arm there is no doubt but I also don't think it's time to hit the panic button yet. The only relief pitchers I have faith in right now is politte and cotts. Everyone else seems to have question marks surrounding them right now. Yeah, it's possible that jenks and bmac won't have the problems we're worried about, but I wouldn't call them solid yet.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 23, 2006 -> 10:41 PM) Well, you didn't miss much. That episode sucked hard. The whole child molestation angle couldn't have been less funny. The voice clip combination thing was amusing for like the first five seconds, but it got pretty tired in a hurry. I turned it off, went back, turned it off, and then ultimately went back to see the ending, which was really the only part that I enjoyed. Just a sucky suckfest on a whole, and I hope that it's not an indication of what is to come. yeah, it definitely wasn't one of their best, but remember that they had to put it together in less than a week.

So at least now I know the feeling of not getting a job you really wanted.....and were 90% sure you were getting it.
