I'd really enjoy to not read anything about the cubs in this forum.....ever why do they even matter now?

QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 10:00 AM) movie was '10 things i hate about you' and it was from '99. my sister owned it so i've seen it a couple thousand times. chick's name is larisa oleynik. last thing i saw her in was in 3rd rock from the sun as tommy's gf... have none of you heard of imdb? jeesh http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0646351/ That was the ooze show right? I vaguely remember that.

It wasn't nearly as bad as ravens-giants, but it wasn't up to the high calibur we've seen the past few years.

thanks for posting, these things are awesome

QUOTE(MarkBuehrle_TheAce @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) in case your wondering what i meant by my last reply, i meant that as of right now, our staff is deep, and therefor eliminates the threat of injury a little, that makes it scary, as opposed to with out MB mark is not going anywhere.....just because a bum off the street said he's going to be traded, doesn't mean it's going to happen or that there is even a chance.

QUOTE(MarkBuehrle_TheAce @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 11:05 PM) i dont think buehrle is BETTER than any other ace in baseball. i think buehrle is a legit ace who means a lot to this team, with out him, our pitching is still good, still possibly the best, but not scary any more, and for the record, i neverEXPECT trades, i often hope for them though

I've finally made my way up to all-american level. My eye has gotten alot better.

For future reference, there is no reason to start a thread over something like this.

Though it may not have been the most important, I think the most outstanding performance was El duque in boston. That may have been the most nervewracking 15 minutes of my life and I loved every minute of it.

QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) See, that was what I was talking about. Someone who is very good at everything but shooting would be Julian Wright. To say Frazier is "VERY" good is a gross exaggeration in my eyes. However, I do appreciate the talk about things like this, as you can never get a legit conversation on the illiniboard. Illiniboard is full of pricks and cubbie like crazy optimistics. I stopped reading it when one day they complained about assembly hall being too quiet, then the next week they complained about krush jumping up and down and screaming. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) Agreed on Augie. As for Frazier, he's VERY good at everything but shooting, hence his stats suck. If he can develop a decent shot, he'll be a very nice bench player. I don't see him ever starting though, unless we don't bring in another class of 2006 player, at which point he might start next year if Rich can't play point. (although I figure next year will be a transition year anyways). he's very good at everything but shooting? ...ok He's a pretty good defender, that's about it. -
I'm sorry, but I just never really got this show, no matter how much my brother tries to get me into it.

BOOOOOOOOOOO wow, that was unnecessarily awful

QUOTE(Yoda @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 03:10 PM) I was one of the many that thought the Steelers wouldn’t go deep into the playoffs and now I’m here bidding $30 on them to win. It’s going to be a good one. i didn't know ebay was in the gambling business now

I'm a little conflicted. I want to root for the steelers because they've always been one of my favorite teams and how can you not root for the bus? I want to root for the seahawks because their situation reminds me of the sox situation last year.

I completely agree with you jas. I've been saying it for what seems like the entire season, but we are not the 6th best team in the country, period....and we never were. And yes, after completely underestimating iowa the entire year, I've finally come around and I think they are better than we all think they are. They've just seemed to come out of nowhere this season. Besides that awful loss to MSU, they've been the most solid team in the big 10. -
there's actually an article in SI that states the ACTUAL number of viewers for the superbowl is around 100 million. The rest is *possible viewers.

QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) If you go on the illiniboard after any good performance by Augie, you'll see numerous threads stating how he should be a lottery pick. The same thing happened with Randle after the Wisconsin game. Randle is another guy that won't sniff a second in the NBA until he can shoot outside of 5 feet or play 5 minutes without fouling someone. illiniboard is impossible to read, just about all the time. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 10:45 AM) - I still get a laugh when Illini fans think James Augustine is going to be a first round pick. There's not much of a market for power forwards who can't shoot from outside 5 feet, can't create their own shot, and still haven't learned to play defense without fouling. I know there are those people out there, but honestly...I don't know any. Every good illini fan I know, doesn't think too highly of augy. He has(d) the potential to be a force on the inside, but was never aggressive enough. -

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) Yeah that little national championship thing did not hurt?? honestly, not as much. There was something about that loss that was a little easier to take. For one, we lost to an almost unbeatable team that day. I thought we played fairly well, they were just that much better that night. The loss to OSU shouldn't have happened. Maybe it's because i wasn't there, maybe it's because i didn't have a 5 hour ride to think about it on the way home, but it didn't hurt as much. -

I'll say this........nothing hurt more than our loss to OSU last year. Being 4 seconds away from an undefeated season, then having it snatched away and kids rushing the court in front of you.......hurts, a lot. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 10:31 PM) All the Illini fans were ripping the Iowa fans for storming the court after they beat the Illini. How do they explain storming the court after a loss to lowly PSU? I can't. I never mentioned anything about other school's storming the court, well because........there are dumbass kids at every school. I've been in the krush the past 2 years and know there are more than plenty of kids that are just there because it's "the cool thing to do".
