  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) If you guys get a room there I have a feeling it's going to be complete chaos.. pfft, i'm well behaved.
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 03:41 PM) hotwire.com. Chicago 1/27-1/29. Downtown. The 4 star at the top for $68 at Mag Mile/Wacker Drive is either the Hyatt or River North Westin. Its a 99.9% chance its the Hyatt. The Westin never gets that low. are you on canadian dollars by any chance? ?

  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) If anyone still needs rooms at the Hyatt, they are going for $68 a night on hotwire.com. i don't see a 68 dollar one, i see a 72 dollar one? because if there are rooms at the hyatt, that'd be perfect
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Damn.. no "security" stunts this year...
  8. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 12:38 PM) I just went on hotwire and found a 4 star on Wacker for $66 per night. With taxes and everything, you're probably looking at $180 or so for 2 nights total. Probably one of the hotels right next to the Hyatt. It's listed as a customer favorite. Although they won't tell you the name of the hotel before you book it. Last summer I remember I got a room at the Hard Rock for the Dodgers series for real cheap through hotwire. That's a pretty damn good deal. I searched for Jan 27th-29th and then looked for Downtown Chicago area. wow, cool, thanks for the advice man.
  9. does anyone know anything about the hotel room scene this weekend? I looked online and it looks like it would be $318 for the entire weekend, is that decent?
  10. so far I'm 8-2 with illinois, which seems about right, I haven't played many tough teams yet. I'd say hitting's a little too easy and pitching's a little too easy on varsity, but don't wanan start tweaking yet.
  11. i just hooked up my ps2 to online and did the silent login and stuff, how cool is it to hear ESPN radio during the menus?
  12. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) Looks like doubling up on Steve Smith is a good idea after all. Who knew? who knew steve smith was worthy of your best cornerback too?
  13. what is the chant the denver crowd keeps saying? I've been trying to figure it out for the past 2 weeks.
  14. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) Do you still use the A button(or X button on PS2) to swing, or is it all in the stick? you swing the same as classic hitting, use the analog and press X
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) Explain Zone hitting Steve. I have yet to try it, and it might work for me... it's like the old high heat games. Basically, you point the analog stick to where the ball is going to end up. IE: a high fastball, hold up on the analog and swing, low and away breaking ball, point the analog toward it and swing. It's different from classic because in classic, you can basically hit anything out by holding up and swinging. And in zone hitting, you can use the power/contact mode hitting. I like it alot.
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) I starting to get frusterated with this game. Im on Varsity and only scratching out 2 runs a game, and now im having problems with the base running. I had a guy on 2nd with 1 out, and my man at the plate hit a shot right up the middle. The guy on 2nd started for 3rd and would have scored, but when it hit the OF grass(this was a line shot, no way it was a flyout) he runs back to 2nd without me touching anything. I then had to send him to 3rd, and he had no chance to score. Very annyoing. i'm having a blast on varsity w/ zone hitting. Averaging from 3-6 runs. But i agree with you on the baserunnign stuff, you have to really pay attention and correct them right away.
  17. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 12:20 AM) did anyone hear that about jarod from subway living in an apartment building with a subway store on the main street front? and THAT'S why he went there everyday...not to be healthy...but because he was a lazy ass. (and he had his stomach stapled) a trava-sham-ockery. wouldn't suprise me, anyways, it was a genius move by subway. They exploded after the whole jarod commercial campaign.
