QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 18, 2016 -> 09:41 AM) Yep, 2013 as well when it snowed every saturday. This winter is pretty mild even though its cold today. It only lasts a few days instead of those two weeks when it was dangerous to go outside. I can handle this. It's horrible today, but the rest of the week looks decent. It's those 2 week periods of below zero temperatures that really get to you.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 01:06 PM) I'm officially naming this the "Adult Child Living at Home" Winter. It comes and goes every few days without rational explanation, and doesn't give a damn how much that irritates you. I'll take it any day over the 2014 "don't go outside for 3 months" winter.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 12:18 AM) As for the movie. Im pretty shocked that no one else has mentioned how much of an homage this is to episode 4. Luke is in the desert, droid with an important message ends up there, Luke runs into droid begin saga. I could go on and on with how much the movies parallel each other. Honestly George Lucas could have never gotten away with it. This was my first thought when I was walking out of the theater as well. It was fun and all, but it honestly just felt like a slightly different "A New Hope". The entire story is basically the exact same thing.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 03:33 PM) I've decided to re-watch the Star Wars flicks headed into Episode 7. The biggest problem I have is not wanting to sit through 8 hours for Episodes 1-3 when they're filled with so much trash. Worry no more - there's an amazing super cut on YouTube. No clue how or why it hasn't been taken down. I'll start with this tonight. Did you watch this? How is it? We're having the same issue. We have the original trilogy on blu ray, but I don't want to purchase the first 3.

That was the first bears game I attended at "new" soldier field. That was.........dissapointing.

How easy is it to install a Nest Thermostat? I'm not handy at all and am terrified of screwing it up and being without heat for an extended period of time.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 01:49 PM) So those with kids.....how have you handled the airport situation? We're flying to Orlando (I found super cheap flights...$288 total for 3 of us). And we're renting a car. Doesn't look like a need to use the car seat on the plane (my son's just over 40lbs), but he will need his car seat for the rental car. Do you guys check the car seat? Carry it on? Gate check it? Or just rent one and not deal with the hassle? I see online a lot of people don't check the car seat at the front desk because of the risk of damage or the risk of it not showing up. I'm thinking I'll gate check it, but I've never gate checked anything before. Do you pick it up right after you get off the plane? Or does it show up at the baggage carousel? I'm entering into a new world here... If it's going to be a short term rental (http://kidsflysafe.com/

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 01:00 PM) It's an incredibly involved, deep game. I can't imagine never playing a Fallout game before and jumping into Fallout 4, it'd be massively overwhelming especially with how poorly the game explains it's mechanics, often not explaining them at all. The complete lack of tutorials/hand holding is really astonishing. There's so many things I've had to look up myself because there was no explanation.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 11:04 AM) I love what they did with the new power armor but I feel like I'm never going to use it unless I absolutely have to. I tend to favor light, agile, stealth builds for quick maneuvering and lots of inventory space, the power armor is just too clunky for me. I think it may have been a legendary Ghoul of some sort I killed that dropped metal leg armor that increased my speed by 10% which is super cool, if you see any legendary enemies, even if it's going to be a really tough fight give it a shot because they drop some really cool s***, random armor/weapons with special abilities. I do too. I always do a hard save before I start a new quest so that if it becomes ridiculously hard, I can load and grab the power armor.

Are the minutemen quests too hard to do at the beginning? I'm a level 10 and that queen mirelurk quest was just absurd.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) It snowed every saturday in 2013 and then decided to go 20 degrees below for weeks. That was awful. I remember having to shovel literally every other day that winter. Along w/ the absolute brutal cold and a newborn at home that wouldn't sleep, those were dark times.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 01:47 PM) We are due for a mild winter after the last few. Last winter wasn't too bad. December and January were mild. February and March were awful though. 2013 was obviously horrendous in every way.

I was going to wait for Christmas for fallout 4 aaaaaaaand I just bought it on Amazon.

I played through Fallout 3 over the past year and loved it. I tried New Vegas and just couldn't get into it, like at all. Probably because I was trying to rush through it and finish before 4 comes out. Still looking forward to Fallout 4.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 09:50 AM) Cheesecake factory is excellent and right in the Hancock Tower, but it might fall into the fancy/pricey range depending on your definition. For pizza there is Giordano's (Rush/Sperior) or Geno's East (St. Clair/Superior) Ditka's is at Chestnut/Rush but again may be pricey depending on your definition. My other favorite in that area was Heaven on Seven but I think they closed the Rush St. location and you'd have to go down to the loop now. Don't go to the cheesecake factory downtown, there's so many better options.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 03:34 AM) I don't understand why they didn't put a campaign in Battlefront. I would have bought it. All they had to do was make two missions per map, one with the Rebels and one with the Empire. Yeah, me too. My brother and I always had a blast playing against the bots in the old battlefront. I just don't get to play videogames much anymore and online is usually too difficult of a learning curve.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 03:57 PM) Greg, just pay the damn ticket and quit trying to look for a loop hole out of it. Incidents like this are why this country has really gone off the rails. It's like I've been saying, in 20 years it will be a whole different America. People are going to be scared to go anywhere. I mean now it's dipping down to guys running through stop signs thinking they're above the law. I always think of the parents (assuming they are good ones). So mom gives birth to a boy one day at the hospital. Can you imagine if you could look into the future and told her, you're boy will one day run a stop sign. She'd have told you you were insane. And get off my lawn

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) If its nice outside I recommend taking your kids to Cantigny park where they have old tanks and whatnot for kids to climb on. My nephews love that place. Morton Arborteum is fun too. The children's garden is just outstanding. Treehouses, play areas, etc.

Most restaurants can be kid friendly, just go early for dinner. (4-5ish)

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 09:12 AM) There is zero chance they will get rid of the fundamental deck. It is one thing that separates USCF from other parks. Kids love it. I have seen the HR derby most games I have attended this year. They could do so much more w/ the fundamentals deck. I have a 2 year old who was really excited to go up there, but there wasn't much for her to do. A small playground would do wonders.

Thank god, the left field one was embarrassing.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 12:56 PM) That place is great, although the Rosemont one is like an express location. The one time I went it didn't have the full menu, I usually go to the one down Touhy in Niles/Skokie. Yeah, the area is mostly offices so they're only busy during weekday lunches. Makes sense for them.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 10, 2015 -> 03:04 PM) If they don't have a listing on glassdoor, and they don't have a page on LinkedIn, then I'd be suspicious. As well as getting contacted by them out of the blue. Extremely suspicious.
