    Who is dieting?

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 04:34 PM) I'm the complete opposite, I need to put weight on. My family's always been pretty small though. So I'm trying to eat a lot more protein, and hoping that makes a bit of a difference. same here, i'm a stick and don't have a big appetite, so it's been a struggle.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) I guess I'm in the minority when I hear La Bamba and think "meh" Now Geovantis, that's some ace level food for ya. Calzone or chicken fingers, can't go wrong either way. SnB, mail me some of that s*** post haste geovanti's -best chicken fingers you'll ever have -awesome, huge calzones and location of the drunkest Snb ever got, with the night concluding with Snb and Krush stealing their sox promo signs and running to our dorm/apartment.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 05:34 PM) OK, good. I know they changed the name to "Z's" like the year after I left and I'm glad they changed it back. I didn't know you were an illini.......I only have a few more months left here

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) Is "Za's" what Zorba's Greek resteraunt changed into? I worked there through most of my time at Champaign. . . prolly ate gyros 5x a week. Man I wich I could eat anything I wanted and not gain weight like when I was 20. no its not. Za's is a cheap fast food italian place, zorba's is still around, pretty close to wright/green.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) I'll admit that I frequented La Bamba quite a bit down in Champaign, but after a while I moved on to El Desmadre (not even sure if it's there anymore, used to be between Za's (another one of my favorites) and Brother's on Green Street). La Bamba always struck me as gringo-style Mexican, a lot of lettuce and tomato. El Desmadre's burritos and a lot of the other stuff wasn't particularly impressive, but the Mexicano style tacos with onion and cilantro covered with the green salsa were pretty tasty, and they have/had a liquor license so I could have a Corona with it in my later years there. I also basically lived on calzone's from Giovannti's for a while, they were like $5.50 and even at my large size I could generally get two meals out of them. El desmadre isn't around and hasn't been in my 4 years here.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 12:11 PM) If this was the original "burritos as big as your head" La Bamba on Green St., then it must have gone and got classy long after my departure. I ate there at least 2x a week for 2 years. Best chorizo burrito I ever had, especially after a night of knocking back a few pints of the blonde in the black skirt (that would be Guinness) at Murphy's. La bamba is nowhere near classy, like in another dimension from classy. Still tasty from time to time though
  8. in the apartment, in front of 37 inches of HD gloriousness.
  9. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 10:11 AM) Illini showed why they are ranked #1 this weekend. Down 2-0 going into the third period, they tied it up and won in overtime with less than 2 minutes to go. They did it in Ames Friday night and at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines Saturday afternoon. Thought you and maybe Heads would be interested. that team is sick. I've seen alot of their home games this year, they just run teams over.

  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) Probably about as much as he wants cigar smoke blown in his face. or a piece of ham on his face.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) Certain posters on this board have (or had -- as of a few years ago) never heard of the word "finna". I was 'lambasted' (okay, that's too strong, but I'm gonna go with it) for it the whole weekend because I was the lone person who had heard of it.

    Moment of Truth

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jan 24, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) I think this show can cause some definite marital problems. I would advise not watching it with your wife/girlfriend? I thought I heard about a divorce already from it.
  14. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jan 24, 2008 -> 11:42 AM) I just watched some of my DVD's from the 2005 WS. Joe is the man. Admit it!!! you are correct sir.
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) This thread depressed me. Not looking forward to the season at all. gotta agree with what the others posted below. The lineup actually looks pretty good, definitely competitive. Alot better than the garbage we saw all of last season, it's the end of the rotation that scares the hell out of me.

    Moment of Truth

When I saw the commericals, I thought this was the worst idea for a show since temptation island. Trash.
  17. The sox have certainly improved, so in that case, I guess you can call it a good offseason. However, I think for the sox to be legitimately competitive, another starter has to be had. So i guess it depends on your definition
  18. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 02:13 AM) Bad play by Buff to start it, but Kane's lazy ass should have had no problem winning that loose puck battle, as he had an easy two strides on him. That's on Pat. Pathetic effort by Kane for one of the first times all year and it really killed them. interesting. After that play, I thought it was mostly kane's fault, but me being a new dumb hockey fan listened to the announcers. They blamed most of it on buff there. In other words, hooray snb
  19. after a great first period, they looked pretty awful in the 2nd. That shorthanded goal was just a combination of ugly plays by the hawks. down 3-1 going into the 3rd.
  20. 1) 05 sox playoffs 2) Illini-arizona elite 8 game 3) Illini beat #1 OSU 4) Illini beat #1 Wake Forest Worst: 1)Illini lose on a buzzer beater to OSU, ruining the perfect season 2)Sox get swept in minnesota in 03
  21. we stayed in the holiday inn a few blocks away from the stadium last year. Good location to the stadium, but not much else. If you're going, rent a car because where the stadium is located is all industrial, not that much to do. We had to cab it to go into "downtown" tucson and that cost a fortune.
  22. hawks win their 4th in a row Lalime huge again. Now, that was an entertaining hockey game.
  23. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 06:12 PM) I certainly agree that the Eric Gordon saga has intensified things between the two schools. That will soon pass and I believe things will go more back to normal. But the proximity of the two schools will always mean there will be heated recruiting battles and the talent will make for some great games, so the game will never become unimportant. Just not the most important. Make sense? i wasn't arguing with you. I actually agree completely. 3-4 years ago, the IU game wasn't anything special. Oh yeah PS: UNC, UCLA, and TAMU lost today
  24. Just to get an illini opinion in here. In my 4 years here, we have lacked a concrete basketball rival. Mizzou is the only one that's really been around for a long time. Other than that, MSU and wisconsin for the past 3 years have been the only thing even close to a rivalry. But honestly, that's just because they were the 3 big teams in the big ten in 04 and 05. Ever since the eric gordon thing, the IU rivalry has leapfrogged both of them by a long shot. But that's just my personal opinion over my time on campus.
  25. I have to be on time for everything. Usually early.
