QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) Also... the Illinois-Indiana 's***-slinging' (can I call it that?) is one of the best parts of this thread so, I'm'a just pull up a chair and grab some popcorn and enjoy the action. now i remember why i never come in here anymore. -
Does anyone else like the fact nobody is giving the SOX a chance in 08

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 10:10 AM) If Danks and Floyd produce decently then we have a shot. That's a huge IF though and I just can't see it happening. We really improved our offense and I think our pen is going to be pretty solid as well but once again, the rotation scares the hell out of me. this is pretty much it. If we can sign one more starter, I'd have some "false" hope. The back end of JC-danks-floyd is awful. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 01:29 PM) Another question here: I have a dilemna that may or may not be important to my question, but I'll give the background anyways. I'm taking a Macro-Econ course this semester that is taught by the same professor that I took last semester for Micro-Econ. For this class, I feel like all I'm doing is memorizing stuff for the tests and not truly learning anything -- she basically uses Powerpoint or an overhead projector and has us copy everything that's on the PP/projector. I probably made a mistake taking her for a second semester, but I like familiarity and comfort in my classes, so since I knew what to expect (don't have to buy a book, homework is only once a week done electronically, no quizzes and three tests), I just took her anyways. I don't know if I had to say all that, but -- I'd like to actually feel like I'm learning something so... anyone have any recomendations for a good economy (doesn't have to focus on macro, as I'll explain) book? This doesn't (necessarily) have to be a school-type book -- an 'application' book would be great. Just something that isn't terribly difficult to understand but something that may give me a good 'economic' basis (if that makes any sense). there's really no such thing as what you're looking for. Every economics class I've taken is different. If you know how to draw a supply/demand curve, that's really all the foundation you'll need. You might wanna pick up this book though, it's certainly interesting and full of econ stuff. http://www.amazon.com/Baseball-Economist-R...7012&sr=8-1

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 12:59 PM) f***in hate Hardee's commercials. Especially the cheesepaper one. there's something about seeing a burger plop down that makes it seem really unappealing to me. On another note, the applebee's gilligan's island commercial that ran during 2006 March madness has made me swear to never go to that restaurant again.

Last semester of college so I have 4 100 level classes, 1 200 level, and 1 400 level. Should be a breeze

A pats/packers superbowl would be a blast to watch.
-
remember Brian Daubach? heh

Jose Paniagua wins hands down, I was at that game and that's where the 2003 season was lost. That was still the best team in the past 15 years. Jimenez, Borchard, Keith Foulke are runner ups

So I'm starting my last semester of college tomorrow, weird.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 11, 2008 -> 05:01 PM) Boo AMPTP. "Many of you have asked about the fate of the final episodes of Scrubs. If the strike goes on too much longer there is a good chance they will never be written or shot and the series finale will remain in the mind of our show's creator, Bill Lawrence..." ugh, what a shame.

that was just an annoying game to be at.

Randle goes up for the drunk, instead the ball gets caught inbetween the rim and backboard, what a joke he is. In other news, Illini are miraculously only down 6 with 13 minutes left against wiscy. Shooting around 30%, sweet. -
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 7, 2008 -> 11:33 PM) I never check this thread Just now I saw SnB replied to this thread on the front page... I said to myself, self "SnB just posted about Juno" Checked thread. I rule. /saw Juno yesterday afternoon with the GF. It is very good.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jan 6, 2008 -> 05:46 PM) Ok, so I got a 360 for Christmas. So far I have Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Forza (both came with the system), Mass Effect (love it) and just picked up Halo 3. Any suggestions on what else to pick up? I'll probably be looking for a sports game soon. All suggestions welcome. the EA sports NHL series is the ones I have the most fun with and play the longest. The 360 graphics are amazing.

down 3-0 after the first. Wings just hit every pass they needed and are looking like they are in a different league than the hawks right now.

was dragged to sweeney todd. It was entertaining but I'm super squeamish about blood and couldn't watch like 10% of the movie.

Assembly hall is a brutal place to play when the team blows. I was at the game last night and you could hear a pin drop. There were maybe 2-3 opportunites where the crowd tried to get into it, only to have OSU come back and make a big shot. It's bad.
