  3. i really like this book, http://www.amazon.com/Thinking-Fans-Guide-...d/dp/189496330X it may get a little too advanced at times, but it goes over EVERYTHING about the game. it's a good read.
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 10:58 AM) I got like 7:30 hr's. Absolutely passed out at 11. It's great, ever since I started running a couple miles when I get home from work (before I cook my dinner) I've really started to sleep even better (and I sleep good as it is). On a sidenote, I'm 100% convinced that aside from noise, the reason some people can sleep well and some can't sleep well has to do completely with stress levels. Me, I forgot absolutely everything when I'm going to go to sleep. it's all about if you can turn your mind off. I used to have a major problem with it, but it's gotten better. Usually if i can't sleep I'll put on a DVD of some tv show that i've seen alot and it just zones me out and i fall asleep quickly
  5. It could go one way or the other this year. We have a very talented team, but certain parts could definitely tank, leaving us with a terrible year. (5th starter, young bullpen)
  6. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 06:05 PM) Paniagua killed the Sox, not Cotts the team not showing up in minny didn't help that year either. I'll never forget when the TV cameras caught maggs sitting on the dugout with his head completely down right after they got swept in minny. But yeah, i was at the paninagua game and I am convinced that if we would have won ONE of those last 2 games in that series, we're in the playoffs and do some serious damage.
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 01:02 PM) I don't understand that reasoning. Crede finished the 2005 regular season strong, and carried that play into the postseason to be one of our best players in October. And Crede did not revert back to his old form statistically during the 2006 season. He was a very solid bat, while remaining one of our best gloves on the team. I don't get the reasoning for the Sox to have waited all this time for Crede to become serviceable after some horrid years, and spin him off as soon as he becomes legit just so we can restart the cycle with another unproven player at 3B. i honestly think it's the back problems that really worries the sox. There has to be more to that than we know. I just don't think they have faith that he'll be able to stay consistently healthy. But as I say that, I am suprised how ready the sox seem to be to start fields, considering how long it took for the crede experiment to actually work.
  8. When i started really getting into little league (1993), the sox were the talk of the town. Frank thomas, robin ventura, etc. I used the frank thomas stance in little league, no wonder i sucked.
  9. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jan 13, 2007 -> 11:39 AM) Anybody not think she's hot? A strange crush would be if you're in love with the barefoot contessa or an iron chef... i know plenty of people i've had to argue her with to tell you the truth.
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 13, 2007 -> 11:19 AM) So in "My Screw Up", at one point did Ben die? Was he dead the entire episode and Cox was saying his son's party in place of the funeral? McGinley proves how good he is in that episode. pretty sure he's dead the entire episode because you never see anyone else interact w/ him except cox.
  11. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 11:46 PM) I'm not sure what numbers you're looking at, but he had a 5.59 ERA in 19 starts, so I don't think he ever really looked good as a starter... that first 2-3 months in 04, he was our most consistent starter.
  12. I'm in love with the "everyday italian" chick, but despise rachael ray. I've had many arguments over this.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) What moment would that be? he slides into first, called safe, gets up, and without thinking, undoes his belt and pulls his pants down to get the dirt out.
