QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2017 -> 04:36 PM) Do I do it? Yeah I'm doing it. Anyway, counting on Rodon to contribute to the next White Sox competitive team right now is a gamble. Hopefully between Fulmer and Rodon we can at least get 1 starting pitcher out of those 2 drafts. I wonder if Rodon might be able to pull things together out of the bullpen, that slider might be really effective in short bursts. Lolll thank you. DA brings up my one wrong prediction on abreu anytime I best him in an argument. Payback.

Sox are going Ohtani

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 28, 2017 -> 12:28 PM) That's the thing though...they had the draft position to take both and took neither. It just goes to show that it isn't necessarily whether you choose 1 or 3, you may end up getting the player you wanted anyway. The Sox claim they had Collins as their #1 prospect two years ago and got him at 11. Yeah, I don't buy the Collins thing. Maybe they meant #1 given their draft position, but if they had the #1 pick, they wouldn't be picking him.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Sep 27, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) How to fix the problem? Get better players. Like Eloy Jimenez. Problem solved. this post got me pumped up about Eloy, not gonna lie

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2017 -> 01:29 PM) I read where the Cuban league is A ball or maybe AA. Plus he was adjusting his entire life in a new country without his family. He was only the 3rd player ever. Others have come from other countries, and he's the first to do that. It is a big accomplishment. If its such a technicality how come no other foreign player has done it? How many other countries refuse to allow their players to come to the US? The guy was basically forced to stay until he hit his prime years, then he defected. Only situations that come to mind really are Jose Abreu and Arvydas Sabonis.

Cool I guess. The RBI is a nearly worthless stat though. Jose also came into the league older and more experience. Jose has been a solid player though. Props

Another season almost gone and I will miss it.

As much as I miss baseball and tracking the minors, I miss the busy season in these forums. Its always a lot slower in the off-season, and understandably so. I don't get as much knowledge and content from the baseball minds in here that know way more about the game than I do. AFL and winter meetings usually provide some entertainment. -
You got this Carlos

Are we allowed to get nervous about Moncada at this point?

QUOTE (Chisoxmb35 @ Sep 21, 2017 -> 12:51 AM) This was the correct answer before the thread creator even hit "send". The only two options when creating a thread are "Post New Topic" and "Preview Post" there is no "send" option. -
wow the sox may just out tank the phillies and giants...

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 20, 2017 -> 12:47 PM) Haha true. I was just referring to the skepticism that he will stick at catcher. They are converting Robert to a C? I thought that was the TA plan

This will be tricky when we draft Hankins with our 1st pick this year -
Man I hope we go on a monumental suck streak to secure the 1st pick and that slot money.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 20, 2017 -> 11:27 AM) Open letter to the Chicago Bulls "Joakim Noah the hardest worker in a long time." Yeah, ok. The guy who constantly came into camp out of shape. The guy who never added ANYTHING to his game? He relied purely on athleticism and on court effort. That is why his game tanked so hard when he lost athleticism. He tried as hard as anybody while on the court. I'll give him that. But joe was not a hard worker. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 20, 2017 -> 10:43 AM) Add in Giolito pitching well. Hell, even Fulmer (who I really hope makes me eat crow) has had some good outings. Very much happy with the progress being made. As good as fulmers numbers have looked, I don't have faith in him. He'll be lucky to be a successful reliever. Id love for him to make me eat crow, but I don't forsee that happening. -
Any money given to Harvey comes out of a potential Machado contract. No thanks.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2017 -> 09:41 PM) True dat. I was just saying today we reverted back to that rotten team we've grown to 'love.' Really? We already have a good draft pick. Give me victories or give me angst. Go watch the video I posted 4 posts up. You telling me that you don't want that?

QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Sep 17, 2017 -> 03:08 PM) What a perfect game for the Sox!! This could be exactly what they need to completely derail the end of the season and guarantee a top 3 pick. WOHOOOO Completely agree. Today was a BIG loss. I am very happy the Sox lost this one. A top 2 or 3 pick would be huge. I want hankins after seeing this

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Sep 15, 2017 -> 12:54 AM) I've been saying all season that Avi will be a perennial all star the rest of his career and a future HOF inductee (maybe first ballot). If our rebuild is to be successful, we must sign him to a long term contract (unfortunately, the organization has probably cost itself 50-75 million by waiting til this point) I thought you were crazy, but you were right. You owe me, and many on this forum, a large dish of crow to eat, cooked extra rare. Props to you for calling it right.

I recently made a thread about the Sox pursuing an avi trade. My opinion was that his season was a fluke, and it seems rick Hahn thought that way too. I'm afraid to say I was wrong. Avi is the real deal, and I think they should keep him. I thought his season was a fluke from the high babip and all the singles. Boy was I wrong. Avi has been straight mashing one again. I'm sold on him being the real deal. He is going to MASH next year. I'm expecting a great batting average again. He hasr been such a great hitter this year. Do you think it is a fluke or the real deal? Take it from me. This dude will MASH next year. I cannot wait for that young, exciting team. Bring on 2018. Edit: can a mod change the title to "avi", not "avj", please? The Boone's Farm got me loopy.

Sit his ass on the bench after that effort. Rookie mistake.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 02:15 PM) I would make a small wager that Avi Garcia is not on the White Sox roster when Eloy Jimenez makes his major league debut with the White Sox. DL or trade? Interesting thought. Abu has ended this season by not only bringing his average back up, but by hitting for more xbhs and walking more, seemingly. Itd have to be quite a good package to get avi in a trade of imagine. The other team would have to be awfully sold on him.
-
Jesus avi. What a damn year.... This offense becomes quite interesting when you add Eloy in at LF.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 11:49 AM) The only other player I can think of they moved here at 17 is Micker. It seems to me they must see something if he is in that kind of company. Very excited about Sosa. It's about time the Sox have an international prospect hit. It hurts seeing the cubs get guys like Torres and Eloy and we get back squat. I won't mention he who must not be named. It is too painful to see him succeeding as we watch shields pitch.
