  1. You need vets like Melky during rebuilds. Bad trade imo
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 12:00 PM) I am going to wild card guess Luis Robert Now I'm going to be disappointed if he doesn't play in the AFL
  3. Early, yes, but who would you like to see in the AFL this off season? I definitely think Eloy will be there. Wouldn't mind seeing Burger there either.
  4. Is burger just undermatched at his current level? Seems like he is demolishing these A pitchers. I wonder if we'll see him promoted this season or possible AFL time.
  5. I'm in my mid 20s. Honestly, those statistics match what I see from my age group. Coke is pretty prevalent.
  6. Soon you're going to see iamshack calling for the sox to bring Ozzie Guillen back
  7. I keep hearing that some of our players would benefit by choking up on the bat, especially with 2 strikes. Do you agree with this notion? Lots of chatter that it would help some of the players with longer swings. Do you believe in choking up on the bat? Not really sure about it.
  8. Reinsdorf also signed Jordan for 30 million in 1996, and 33 million in 1997. That is a WHOLE lot of money back then, and was far and away the highest per year contract given in the NBA at the time. He will dish out cash if it is worth it.
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 04:33 PM) He was very critical of the LaRoche situation on twitter. Not sure if that will have any barring though. If Harper was on Team LaRoche, I see very little chance that the White Sox even entertain the idea of signing him, IMO. The LaRoche situation is why the whole rebuild started. If you were team LaRoche, you got traded.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 08:48 AM) Yeah, they were just clearing out the Drake LaRoche fans. That's why they traded their best 3 players and acquired 0 major leaguers. Never doubt the vindictiveness of KW
  11. Gotta agree with DA and Caulfield. More likely than not, he regresses. That's how it goes with relievers. But if he keeps it up for a full season and possibly into the first half of next, he has ridiculous value. I think teams will still be too skeptical to give up anything of great value. Plus, the sox need some relievers on their squad. It will be flat out ugly with swarzak and Robocop gone. Hold on to him, and see if he can prove he is not a fluke. A full season of dominance changed his value from a lottery ticket type prospect to a can't miss top 100 type of guy.
  12. I'm not quite sure if I'm ready to call this a rebuild or not yet
  13. Rabbit making 670 the score great again
  14. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:01 PM) This comment just confirms that you are a troll, right? I mean it was already confirmed, but this just further cements it. I'm getting sick of people ragging on me regarding the topic. That is why. I admit he is having a good season. His value is as high as it will ever be right now IMO. He is playing very well. I have always said that if he shed some weight, it would help him big time. Turns out it has helped him. He is having a good season. That being said, he has no place on this team in the future (unless as a coach). Ship him out while his value is high. He is prone to long, painful slumps.
  15. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:53 PM) I was told his value is 0 because he is a garbage player...no? You and whoever you were talking to just don't understand baseball as much as I do apparently
  16. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:39 PM) Hi guys, random question, don't follow too much baseball currently: Is there a chance that the White Sox trade Abreu? I'd imagine he'd net a nice prospect from a team needing some hitting power at the deadline. I'd love to see him go. Hahn would be crazy not to. I don't see Abreu's value being any higher than it currently is honestly. I expect him to regress to his numbers of the past two years by 2018, considering he will be another year above 30. You most definitely shop him and trade for what you can get.
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 11:34 PM) He has fun and is a good veteran presence. Plays hard all the time. I am a big fan of his. Great attitude, loose, well liked. I'd like to see the sox keep him so they have a good veteran to lead these young guys during the rebuild. Put him at DH or 1B.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 10:41 PM) Also appears he now has no confidence in his ability to steal. I still can't believe they haven't moved him closer to the plate. I still can't believe they haven't moved him behind the plate
  19. forrestgump775 strikes again
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 18, 2017 -> 11:05 AM) I've been wondering the same thing. I'd love to hear the scoop from one of the prospect gurus. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 02:43 PM) Si, muy bueno.
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 08:53 PM) Either do I. And Lillian is a girl... That's the point. There was no ownage, similar to this situation. It never happened.
  22. Seems like he is only good when there is no pressure on. He always blows the first half before the sox are essentially out of it. His resurgence came in a rebuilding year where there is no pressure. Lets see how he does when the sox are contending. Or maybe we'll trade him when his value is high to a contender.
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 08:20 AM) This is a great point. It's tough to save too much at #11. That pick value was $4.2 million. I bet they sign Burger for like $3.4 or $3.5 million. Sheets and Gonzalez likely get full slot. The savings are going to Kincanon and Skoug. Went to the same high school as Kincanon. I'm friends with his brother in FB. I can confirm that he got signed overslot. Not sure the exact amount though.
