  1. Semien is obviously more valuable at 2b or SS, but not until we get a real 3rd baseman. I'm excited about his potential. He seems like a 5 tool player that slipped by the scouts...
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 6, 2013 -> 05:11 PM) "Most of the veterans" should still have some value. Alexei Ramirez, Alex Rios ought to still have some value in trades. De Aza should have significant value. Those guys will get claimed on waivers and the Sox shouldn't move them unless they're getting a fair value back in a trade. What those guys should bring back in trades is worth a lot more than the difference between the #1 and #2 pick. Danks and Dunn are 2 guys that, if claimed, I'd seriously consider letting go, but not to "tank", instead due to their salaries. Really tanking also would of course involve doing stupid things like shutting down Sale, Quintana, and Santiago, because they're actually winning games for this team. Well maybe Chris isn't, but you get the idea. Doing something like that is actually criminally bad because "Stretching these guys out to 200+ innings" is really going to be hugely important to building a team that can survive september as well. I believe in this draft, the difference between the number 1 and 2 could be great. Maybe I'm over rating him, but Rodon sounds filthy. I think he will be special. A quick to the mjaors player like Sale.
  3. You see the title. Why don't the white sox go into tank mode? Put most of your veterans on waivers and get rid of them. If sox tank, they can get Rodon. IMO, Rodon would be on the fast track to the majors. Getting a potential ace next to sale would speed up rebuilding BIGTIME. We would have a very, very good staff. We would also have a lot of money to sign some competent offensive players. I believe the sox would be back on track very quickly with a tank season. Are you in favor of tanking? It is more acceptable in the majors IMO. You won't get much gripe for playing your young, future players. Especially when the current team stinks. Tanking is pretty much rebuilding. Are you in favor?
  4. "A moment of silence for the fallen 2013 white sox season". Hawk will be the main focus of the banner. His mouth must be shut, he must looked pissed, and preferably after a 9th inning choke job.
  5. Is your last name often the butt of jokes?
  6. It is the all star break and sale has already thrown 120 pitches. Do you think they should keep his innings down in these throw away seasons? I don't get why we are riding him. He has a scary delivery, and it would just lessen the wear and tear on his arm in general. They need to be skipping starts every now and then for him.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 11:43 PM) I don't think his behavior was that bad. 1.) Loria laughed his butt off during the first meeting, counting Ozzie's F-bombs in the spring training speech. Loria thought it was funny. His ill-put together team sucked so now Ozzie is unprofessional cussing. Hmmmmm. You Oz haters: Please comment specifically on this point. Richboy Loria LAUGHED his ass off during Ozzie's first expletive-riddled speech to the team. Watch it on youtube. You tell me he's not a hypocrite??? 2.) Ozzie "loves" Castro. Very ill advised statement even though he explained what he meant. 3.) Heath Bell. Big fatboy out of shape after getting a big contract. Ozzie supported him all the way. Bell is a disgrace to baseball getting all fat like that and sucking just cause he had a great contract. 4.) Marlins trade everybody and give up. Ozzie didn't make a peep the second half of the year til the end when he yapped about Loria. 5.) Ozzie blasts Loria. Bye bye Ozzie. You gawn. But it was a deserved comment, putting the richboy owner in his place. It got Ozzie fired, but Loria can't take away the money Ozzie gets for NO WORK. So in Ozzie's mind he wins. He doesn't have to work a day for that crummy owner and gets the same amount of money he would have had he worked every day. 6.) Ozzie talks about his money and getting fired a lot and how he doesn't care: Who cares? That's another thing that wouldn't matter if the team was winning. He always talked like that in Chicago. Ozzie is the scapegoat for the lousy season. Whoever put together that awful team should be the scapegoat. And Loria was the guy who wanted Heath Bell. Hilarious. Loria should fire himself. What a clown. Moral of story: Will ozzie manage the White Sox again? If Jerry lives 20 more years ... yes. First thing Sox should do: Trade for Buehrle and bring him home. Trade Quintana and Morel for Mark and have Miami pay most of the contract. Or trade Quintana and Beckham for Mark. :notworthy :notworthy
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 03:07 PM) Ricky Nolasco is not happy: I'm not surprised. Players love playing for Oz. How could you not?
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 21, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) I think he's trolling and pretending to be greg again. I don't know why I'm considered a troll. I'm not trying to be. I just think the amount of bad rep Ozzie gets on here is a bit much. Robin did well, but not that much better than how Ozzie did.
  10. Who cares? The sox are going to lose against the Royals and choke the division up anyway. People blame Ozzie for losing the past few seasons, but I don't see Robin in the playoffs.
  11. Ozzie can't be forgotten for what he did. First world series in how long? How quickly people forget. I hope he gets a job with the white sox whether it be in the booth or a higher up position. A statue would be fitting too.
