Do you think Conforto has "lost a step" or something? He had a bad year for sure, but the previous 4 years he averaged 4+ WAR (extrapolating last season). He is just turning 29, so he's not that old.

Conforto is better than Joc and it isn't close. He had a down year. He was a beast in 2019 and 2020

The 2 positions of need on offense are RF and 2B. I would love for the Sox to do their best to sign Conforto and roll the dice with Romy at 2B. Conforto had a down year and will cost a draft pick to whoever signs him. Hopefully that is enough to drive his price down into Reinsdorf territory. Romy torched the minors. I'm not expecting too much, but the guy has some potential upside. I'd be fine going into next season with him at 2B if it means the Sox got a good RFer.

The person I originally quoted stated "It all boils down to TLR not being the man to push them over the top. The season and now the post season proved that." Tony is living rent free in that man's head. Tony's managing was a problem, but a bigger problem was the talent deficit, and subsequently pitchers shitting the bed. If TLR manages the series perfectly, the Sox still lose.
