  1. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 02:28 PM) Best case would be Fowler to Orioles and Gallardo to a team like Houston. That puts the Sox at #26. I can't see anyone giving up a 1st rounder for Desmond or Kendrick at this point. I could see Desmond, but not Kendrick.
  2. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 01:03 PM) 9th highest. Reds lead the way with $14.1m http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/2016-mlb-draft-order/ Thank you. Guys with QO's left are Dexter Fowler, Ian Desmond, Howie Kendrick, and Yovani Gallardo. So with that, Sox could draft as high as 24, correct?
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) J. Cole? What? He was asked a question. Sorry, he quoted the tweet.
  4. Rabbit just bumped this tweet: Brian Bilek ‏@ChiSoxraBBit Brian Bilek Retweeted NoRoleModels I think the #WhiteSox are a top contender for Cespedes and will be in it until the day he signs.
  5. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 01:12 PM) Interestingly enough -- the Rockies just DFA'd Kyle Parker, which could be signalling a move on their part. Perhaps we could be trading for a Rockies OF instead. If he makes it to the AL, I'd love to pick him up.
  6. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 12:26 PM) The White Sox estimated bonus pool for the 2016 draft is $9,477,248. How does that compare to other teams?
  7. Great list. Minor complaints are that I think Robinson Leyer and Nick Delmonico should be in the top 30. Jim Callis ‏@jimcallisMLB 6m6 minutes ago I still would argue Fulmer > Anderson. @whitesox I'll put this here for argument sake. I tend to agree because I think Fulmer's ceiling is higher than Anderson's.
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 09:52 PM) whitesoxdave ‏@barstoolWSD 36m36 minutes ago Goddamnit the white sox better sign Cespedes The guy people were using as a source earlier during Cespedrama is seemingly just a fan. To be fair to him, he said he heard from somebody close to the organization.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 08:54 PM) 1. Rowand44 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Kyyle23 9. 10. 11. Soxfest 12. 13. Buehrle>Wood 14. 15. Brian 16. 17. 18. SoxPride18 19. 20. 21. Brian 22. Soxfest 23. 24. Buehrle>Wood 25. SoxPride18 26. 27. Kyyle23 28. 29. 30. Rowand44 I will always be a Soxtalk champion!
  10. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) Anisimov scores. 1-0 Hawks. That was a beautiful goal
  11. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 02:10 PM) https://t.co/UiiihkzkNJ This article sure makes it sound like they were. "Upton also was pursued by the Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers and Houston Astros, but those teams preferred signing him to a short-term deal." Look at the article I posted right above yours.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) Nightengale's most recent article didn't list the Sox as one of the teams most interested in Upton http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/colum...upton/79007664/ Here's that article
  13. Mike Puma ‏@NYPost_Mets 11m11 minutes ago Cespedes has made it clear he loves NY - and that might give Mets tiebreaker against similar offers. But he won't leave huge $$$ on table.
  14. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:38 PM) hitting............... i give up on you. typical i should have learned by now. Dude, he's not a good hitter. Low average and low on base. Where would you play him? He's not an OFer. Only thing he does is hit home runs.
  15. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:32 PM) again lets look at this, this way..... my statement was QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:22 PM) * ok you caught my attention. what is sooo funny... is he not a very good hitter???? No, he's not. we .... are ..... talking ..... about ..... hitting. Yes, he's nothing. He's not a good player at all. Low average. Low on base. High strike out. Terrible defensively. He's not a good baseball player.
  16. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:27 PM) here is something to help you... http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/PIT/2015.shtml Here's something to help you http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...amp;position=3B A 0.2 player in the last 2 years.
  17. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:24 PM) geeze.... how bout a full statement. so how is not a good hitter, what is your opinion..... stat wise of a good hitter??? Low average. Low on base. Terrible defensively. Where would you play him? He can't play the OF.
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:22 PM) ok you caught my attention. what is sooo funny... is he not a very good hitter???? No, he's not.
  19. en Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 1m1 minute ago Source confirm that #Nationals interested in Cespedes if price drops, as @BNightengale said. The question: Which team, if any, will jump?
  20. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 1m1 minute ago Sources: #Marlins among teams that have discussed pursuing Cespedes on short-term deal. Likely would require accompanying trade of Ozuna. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 1m1 minute ago #Marlins offered Cespedes $36M/6 yrs. when he left Cuba, #Athletics signed him for $36M/4. Unlikely MIA would be at front of market now. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 3m3 minutes ago Per @flasportsbuzz, #Marlins offered Ozuna to #Reds and #Rangers before signing Chen, seeking SP. Did not get desired proposal in return.
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 12:12 PM) ahhh then you are talking about those who post on forum and msg boards. i still love the time of being a youngsters and discussion the what if.... but the bottom line you are correct. No he's not, because until Cespedes is signed, there is still hope he signs with the Sox.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 11:18 AM) To me, sure seems like they're trying to raise his price to screw the Mets True. I really think that all the Sox have to do is add that 4th year with an option 5th year and that can get Cespedes to the Sox.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 11:17 AM) Why not Raburn instead of Pearce? Because you just know Raburn would just suck on this team. He'd rather be facing the Sox than being with them, imo lol.
  24. QUOTE (Baron @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 11:11 AM) Evan Drellich ‏@EvanDrellich 3m3 minutes ago Source w knowledge of Astros talks with Justin Upton noted they never got "serious.” Astros not believed to have talked much more than 3 yrs https://twitter.com/EvanDrellich Good to hear. Where would the Nats play Cespedes? They have Werth, Taylor, Revere, and Harper in their OF already.
  25. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 10:05 AM) I'm in the minority, but I don't want Cespedes because he's not going to matter anyway. Without him, I think we finish between 3rd-5th in the division. With him, I think we can win the division. He's a 4-6 win player that brings presence to this lineup that strikes fear into pitchers.
