  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 09:23 PM) White Sox, Baltimore, Detroit, Angels, and Cardinals all for Justin Upton, Chris Davis, Jay Bruce, Yoenis Cespedes, and the 3 Colorado OFers. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 09:26 PM) Still got fowler out there too QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 09:27 PM) And Parra...and Jackson. And a whole slew of possible trade candidates. Recap: Reported Outfielders available via FA or trade: Yoenis Cespedes Chris Davis Justin Upton Jay Bruce Carlos Gonzalez Corey Dickerson Charlie Blackmon Brett Gardner Jacoby Ellsbury Ender Inciarte Marcell Ozuna Gerardo Parra Austin Jackson Dexter Fowler Reported teams interested in outfielders: White Sox Cardinals Angels Tigers Orioles Indians? Astros?
  2. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 09:26 PM) Still got fowler out there too Yeah and I just added Bruce and the 3 Colorado OFers as well.
  3. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) Everything is falling into place. Now we need Davis to go back to Baltimore and St. Louis to trade for CarGo. White Sox, Baltimore, Detroit, Angels, and Cardinals all for Justin Upton, Chris Davis, Jay Bruce, Yoenis Cespedes, and the 3 Colorado OFers.
  4. For Drew Storen according to Heyman. Takes them out of the OF market. Huge for the Sox.
  5. Gase has a 2nd interview with the Dolphins this weekend. Word is he won't leave there without a deal done. I like that fit for Gase.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 06:29 PM) Realistically, what teams are still in the market for Cespedes? I think the Giants and Angels are out now, so that leaves us with the: White Sox Orioles Nationals Cardinals Tigers Are there any other teams I missed? I like our chances. Orioles waiting on Chris Davis. Nationals I think is more focusing on getting a CF. Cardinals best fit is the trade route, imo. Tigers are a scary team because YC has a past with them and the owner is willing to throw money all over the place.
  7. All I gotta say is Thank God the Astros turned down Hector Santiago for Jason Castro.
  8. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 04:25 PM) I can still see Boston going for an OF. They have Betts, Bradley and Castillo but then it drops to Craig. They won't want Cespedes and they probably would love to unload a dead contract, but Upton may be on their wish list. They signed Chris Young earlier this off season.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 03:57 PM) That still leaves Davis, Cespedes, and Upton looking for teams with another team out of the running. The biggest lookers are the Sox and Orioles. Everyone else is on the periphery at this point. People also forgetting that Jay Bruce is out there for trade as well. I would be shocked if he's still on the Reds by spring training. There were reports earlier in the off season that Baltimore was interested I believe.
  10. This is the hack that deadspin probably got a hold of last year when in the report it mentioned that the Sox were really interested in Jason Castro.
  11. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 7m7 minutes ago Sources: #Padres still talking to SS Alexei Ramirez, as first reported by @MLBBruceLevine. Would require shorter term than Desmond. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 7m7 minutes ago Signing Ramirez also would enable #Padres to keep 2nd-round pick (1st pick, No. 8 overall, is protected). SD could get six picks in top 100.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:13 AM) Dan McIntyre ‏@dmcintyre1991 4m4 minutes ago Rosenthal on MLB network says Sox still likely to get big OF and Desmond and Alexei still possibilities at SS. This offseason is slow Would you rather: Sign Cespedes and then sign Desmond to a 1 year prove it again deal worth 11-13 million, then offer him a QO after this year and recoup that pick for the 17 draft. Sign Cespedes and resign Alexei to a 1 year deal 5-7 million dollar deal. Sign Cespedes and let Saladino be the bridge to Anderson. Thoughts?
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 08:30 PM) If he doesn't show up in the Rumble, I'm thinking he may never come back. If he's in the rumble, he has to win the title imo.
  14. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 06:48 PM) Buc-ket! Buc-ket! Buc-ket! And he's gone
  15. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) I'm more worried about the Nats then Detroit the price on Cespy would have to come down way lower than even the sox are offering imo. The Nats were in on Heyward outside of us, Balt, or LAA they worry me the most They wanted Heyward to play CF though. If they were to sign Cespedes, no way they put him in CF, unless they move Harper there, but I don't think they want to do that.
  16. No Kendrick Nunn tonight for Illinois because of the birth of his 1st child.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 06:06 PM) This was reported a long time ago...fwiw. I know, but there wasn't a thread on it I don't think. If there was, my bad, and delete this thread.
  18. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 05:50 PM) Luckily, after next season the Hawks will have a good opportunity to infuse Panarin into the core of the team with the expiring Bickell (finally!) and Anisimov contracts. Does anyone have a good grasp on the retirement recapture rule? Edit: Got it. Not that he's going to do it now, but down the line Good thing is he's still a reasonably productive player. I just wish he could score a little more. You do know Anisimov got a contract extension, right? 1.3 million raise from this season over 5 years.
  19. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 51s51 seconds ago rockies are among teams making a push for gerardo parra. OF market obviously starting to percolate. If they get him, one of those OFers will be gone.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 05:54 PM) Sasha Banks hurt. Fantastic.
  21. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 05:10 PM) I felt like Span wasn't worth $10M per, honestly. Plus he's almost 33 & got 3 years. No chance one of the top 2 signs a 3 year deal, IMO. Turning 32 in February.
  22. Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 1m1 minute ago The #SFGiants never considered long term deal with Cespedes or Upton before turning to Span Wasn't Rosenthal reporting couple days ago that Giants were looking at Cespedes and Upton?
  23. 3 years/31 million for Span, plus incentives
  24. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 04:52 PM) Add Texas just to be safe. Texas has very limited payroll left. Plus, they have Brinson coming up soon. You are right, not to count them out, but they are last on my list of teams that I am worried about.
  25. Anyway you want to look at this, this is HUGE news for he Sox. Baltimore, Tigers, Angels, Nationals and Sox left for these big OFers imo.
