  1. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 11:24 AM) and you make a point. however there is a little flaw in this post, no one mention giving Avi away let alone for junk. it was an exploratory idea of a trade for Avi,. False, Eminor3rd wants to DFA him.
  2. By the way, I do not want the rebuild to happen. Just some ideas lol
  3. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 05:46 PM) I'm all for crazy ideas, but trading our number one prospect along with Sale and Eaton? Come on lol. Keep the ideas coming though it's fun. I'm not being a dick I'm just saying it's crazy. What if it was Owens or Moncada in place of the last starting pitcher and the deal still included Anderson.
  4. QUOTE (Baron @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 04:59 PM) Why Profar for Q? Profar has clearly some injury issues and has not shown he can play in the majors. Still young, and has the potential to still be a really good player.
  5. Off Season Rebuild Plan Make Rick Renteria manager mid season. 6. Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 26s26 seconds ago Dan Hayes Retweeted August f**erstrom Deep look at what Jose Quintana might be able to fetch in trade. Was told last wk it'd take "small army" of hitters.
  7. Senators are really interested in Daley. Bowman's asking price is a 2nd round pick and Matt Puempel or Shane Prince.
  8. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 5m5 minutes ago Source: Free-agent OF Scott Hairston signs minor-league deal with #WhiteSox.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 10:51 AM) They have multiple plans, the problem is you don't know how realistic those plans are until you get into the off-season and start having more in-depth conversations with agents and other GM's (and the most recent meetings help gauge that). All this said, if we are debating between rebuild or going for it, it seems odd given the path we went that I would have thought their was more to last off-seasons plan then if it doesn't work, blow it up. Still, you have a ton of roster holes and you really don't know how well you match up with teams and where the market goes so you always have to react. Thanks for taking me off the ledge.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 10:42 AM) K-Rod to Detroit Keep getting older Detroit.
  11. Who do you give up for Frazier, Bruce, Phillips, Bailey and Chapman? lol
  12. They've had 2 months to figure out a direction to go in. To me, Kenny's comments make the whole organization look incompetent. But to me, the biggest comment is that last one. There isn't that much available unless they are willing to spend money in FA on an OF or maybe SP, or go after some proven names on the trade market. If I were a betting man, those comments are saying that they might go rebuild, and that scares the s*** out of me.
  13. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 08:27 AM) That's why I talk about hero worship. That's all this is. Just get a bunch of "stars", team be damned. This and Freeman (does anyone look at numbers?) just take the cake. Not saying we would trade for Fernandez, just what we would have to give up to get him. To discuss it. I know our needs are on the offensive side of the ball. It's just fun to talk about.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 17, 2015 -> 05:40 PM) I'd want Moncada as well but that is an intriguing package. Bogaerts and Betts both have nice early MLB track-records Swihart is major league ready and a change of pace as well. Rodriguez is young and fits into a rotation now. I'd do this deal if you pulled out Eaton. Add in Moncada and would do this deal in general. I like the idea of getting a number of guys who fit in as current MLB starters with the only minor league piece being Rafael Devers (who is years away). CF Betts SS Bogaerts 1B Abreu LF Cabrera C Swihart RF Garcia DH LaRoche 3B Olt 2B Sanchez Add a Todd Frazier and maybe another OF and this offense is as good as it comes imo. Quintana Rodon Rodriguez Johnson Danks Formidable.
  15. Major blockbuster proposal: SP Chris Sale, CF Adam Eaton, and SS Tim Anderson for SS Xander Bogaerts, CF Mookie Betts, C Blake Swihart, 3B Rafael Devers, and SP Eduardo Rodriguez Who says no?
  16. Cliff Pennington to the Angels 2 years/4 million
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 17, 2015 -> 04:55 PM) I have zero interest in Hill. I'm okay with Buehrle because of the intangibles, etc. But I'm not bringing in Hill when I think we have some other in-house options (along with a trackrecord of developing internal talent). If we spend money, it should be on positional talent where we have proven we can't develop crap. I definitely agree. Rotation already is Sale, Q, Rodon, EJ, and Danks. Beck, Drabek, Montas, Jaye (maybe?), and Fulmer are all on the cusp or at least provide depth for the rotation.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 17, 2015 -> 04:51 PM) Quintana would fit the Marlins, in that he is signed long term and cheap. Quintana fits any team, I agree with that. I'm saying imo, Quintana has more value than Fernandez.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 17, 2015 -> 04:59 PM) Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 2m2 minutes ago The #SFGiants reward SS Brandon Crawford with six-year contract extension. Great contract for him. He's only getting better.
  20. For those that are wanting Rich Hill, he is close to signing, Rays and Padres look to be the front runners. I get the reasoning why some people wanted Hill to sign with the Sox, but injury risk, and the amount of innings he has pitched in the last 6 years just don't add up with his age.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 17, 2015 -> 04:37 PM) I don't see how we could get Fernandez without giving up one of those pitchers, at least. It's the Marlins, anything is possible. That said, I agree lol. I'd build a package around Fulmer if possible. Quintana is already more proven and on a better contract than Fernandez, so he's out of the question unless the Marlins add.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2015 -> 04:56 PM) Jeff Wilson ‏@JeffWilson_FWST 8m8 minutes ago Can confirm @JeffPassan report that Leonys Martin and Tom Wilhelmsen are principals in #Rangers-#Mariners multi-player trade. Rangers get OF James Jones and a prospect along with Wilhemson. Mariners get Anthony Bass along with Martin. Win for the Rangers imo.
  23. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 16, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) and there are cl's that are on the fa list to be had Who? Joe Nathan?
  24. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 16, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) Then you can franchise him for at least one year. Can't you franchise a player for 2 years now?
  25. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 16, 2015 -> 02:06 PM) An exec of a team that's talked to the Reds says he's convinced Todd Frazier "is legitimately out there" to be traded for - for a big return https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/666325175277867010 Maybe a package around Erik Johnson would intrigue them?
