Two poll questions as we enter the offseason
GGajewski18 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 12:24 PM) I do trust him more as a judge and arbiter of pure baseball talent than Rick Hahn, so there's that. Wait, what? lol The guy that loves Gordon Beckham. The guy that said that we have one of the best OF defenses in all of baseball. Stop it. -
Free agency begins in 29 minutes

QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 08:20 PM) Seeing these contract predictions makes my hope Hahn is ready and willing to deal this offseason. We have young MLB ready talent to deal in Micah, Avi, Montas, Beck...get creative with those guys to get some sort of impact 3B. I wouldn't hate Rasmus, Aoki or Parra in the OF, but it's coming pretty apparent to me that filling the infield is going to come from within or trade. Rasmus got a QO today. No shot Sox go after him

This David Freese talk has me throwing up. I don't see him as the answer at 3B at all.

Two poll questions as we enter the offseason

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 11:11 AM) Beachy is still working his way back from his second TJ and he didn't pitch all that great for the Dodgers so he can't expect too much in a contract. The Sox are known for keeping their pitchers healthy and a good pitching coach in Cooper so a team like the Sox could be rather enticing to Beachy. I wanted the Sox to sign Beachy last off season as an insurance policy to any starter that got hurt. I'd love to get him on a minor league deal. From this poll, the only move I chose was Alexei's and the payroll, I chose 130-139 million. JR wants to win, go spend the money on some key free agents. -
Fangraphs Free Agent Predictions-Dave Cameron.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2016-top-50...nt-predictions/ Cameron has the White Sox bringing back Alexei Ramirez on a 1 year deal for $6 million. He also has them signing Howie Kendrick, Chris Young (OF), Alex Avila, and Mat Latos. The only move I would do is the Alexei deal. Only way I sign Latos is if one of our starting pitchers is traded. The other 3 I have no interest in because of age, fit with the club, or injury prone. -
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) Re: Mariners/TB trade -- GMs say there is a ton of trade conversation going on right now. https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/662454622620094468 Can't wait to see what Hahn is doing Wonder if we'll get some more activity next week during the GM meetings.

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 2m2 minutes ago #Rays announce trade: They acquire SS Miller, 1B/OF Morrison and RHR Farquhar from #Mariners for RHP Karns, LHP Riefenhauser, OF Powell. First major trade of the year. I like the Rays side to this deal. I like Miller and Farquhar. Rays really only gave up Karns.

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/fangraphs-c...82-free-agents/ Pretty interesting article of the top 82 free agents by fangraphs and what their contracts might look like.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 05:29 PM) We get the Royals won and you have had an erection for more than 4 hours, but this is an Alexei Ramirez thread that has nothing to do with Rios or Gordon or taunting Greg. This actually is the off season plan thread

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 12:05 PM) Ngata was a FA iirc http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12456178...a-detroit-lions

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 12:01 PM) He did get a lot of credit for turning them around last year. I think a lot of their issues have to do with the fact that they made the wrong bet on Stafford (who is awful). They also have quite a few other issues, including an aging Megatron who is a shell of what he once was (due to all the abuse he took on that turf). And letting Fairley and Suh go for nothing. Also trading for an aging Ngata didn't help either.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 11:34 AM) how is it that Caldwell is surviving this? I bet he'll be gone at the end of the year.

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) i need to say, i usually try to stay out of this type of post, well b/c i really do not like the fantasy type of dreams. but there is a fine line of some unrealistic ideas and not. many will probably say my ideas may be more unrealistic as all combine. but i was thinking of trying to swing a trade with Pitt but the uncertainty of Pedro Alvarez being left off the team or not is or will pose as a problem. but trade for Pedro Alvarez, Clay Holmes the sox trade laroche, Beck, Thad Lowry and the sox give 2-3 mil toward laroche contract. with stl.. it will all depend on Jason Heyward and if stl resigns him. trade from the sox Melky Cabrera, Rodon, Montas the cards trade Jack Flaherty, Harrison Bader, c-Mike Ohlman, Paul DeJong, Luke Weaver or Sandy Alcantara lastly approach yanks to see if they would trade c-Gary Sanchez, Slade Heathcott, or Dustin Fowler sox will trade Danish, EJ and Sanburn edit.... oops i forgot i would like for the sox to get Price and Marco Estrada How many games will this team win? I think less than 70. That Rodon trade is awful.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 04:47 PM) That's interesting and big. I'd go all in for him. He's the type of guy I could see us moving Q for. Quintana, Micah, Montas, Anderson, and Guerrero for Arenado and LeMeheiu

Indians decline Ryan Raburn's option
GGajewski18 replied to YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
Not a chance. But, this is thread worthy just in the hope that he leaves the AL and goes to the NL so he doesn't have to face the Sox anymore. -
Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 13m13 minutes ago Sources: #Rockies’ Nolan Arenado changing agents, from Scott Boras to Joel Wolfe and Nick Chanock of Wasserman Media Group. The only guy I would trade Q for just dropped Scott Boras as his agent....

State of the White Sox Address a Position
GGajewski18 replied to rowand's rowdies's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 04:30 PM) I'd rather have Montas working as a starter in the minors, versus being reliever for the Sox in 2016. We have other guys in the system I'd rather convert, hey how about Turner to start with? Plus there will be other reliever bargains out there. I agree, just throwing names out there. Someone will come on a minor league deal much like Albers did (if we don't resign him). -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 09:07 AM) Jennings was terrific in the 2nd half. I see no reason to send him down as he should be trusted over Duke going forward. Personally I would not touch the pen other than resigning Albers. I think it's fine. If you could get rid of Duke I would do that, but I don't think that's feasible. C- Robertson SU- Jones SU- Petricka LHP- Jennings LHP- Duke RHP- Putnam/Albers Long: Turner This is perfect. I agree with you 100%. I don't get the hate for Jennings, we was a lot better than Putnam and Duke in the 2nd half. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 09:08 AM) I know it will contrary to popular belief, but if we don't get a decent one year number for Albers, I am OK with letting him walk and finding the next project to put out there. Or just insert Montas in his spot if he is not traded. -
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 08:39 AM) anyway here's my suggestion, which is sure to be met with applause! (Or not). Trade Eaton and Melky to the Padres for Norris, Solarte, Ross and a prospect. Trade Q to Redsox for Bradley JR, Chtistian Vasquez and prospects. 2 holes plugged (albeit no better than plugged) and a killer OF defense with 2 guys who can cover ground and Avi's arm. Need to add a power bat, although I don't know what to do about Laroche. Could eve re-sign Alexei at half price now that the other 2 clowns are gone. Saladino the utility guy. You might as well trade Abreu and Sale while you're at it. LF Bradley Jr 3B Solarte 1B Abreu DH LaRoche RF Garcia CF Thompson C Norris SS Ramirez 2B Sanchez Sale Ross Rodon Johnson Danks This team will lose more than this years team.
