  1. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 05:31 PM) Two trades: Shark to the Astros for OF Brett Phillips and a low level prospect Quintana to the Cubs for C Schwarber + 2 lower prospects Sox will not deplete the rotation like that.
  2. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 05:06 PM) so you are saying the same thing i am in my trade idea. which was done on a fly. same reasoning there. The difference is your saying trade Q, who is a 3-5 WAR proven player for prospects which are unknowns. I'm saying trade our higher end pitching unknowns to the other teams for their high end hitting unknowns
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:40 PM) That is one horrible lineup. The only way this team could have had a good offense is if the meat of the order, Cabrera, Abreu, Laroche, Garcia raked this season. Eaton and Beckham are average to below average ballplayers; Flowers is below average catcher; Sanchez and Saladino are not big league regulars for any other team. It would have helped if Eaton raked this season as well. If he was a .320 type basher. I'd say this one has 7-0 loss all over it or maybe 7-2 if the Sox are hot. Eaton has been our 2nd best hitter this season. Saladino will be a utility player but I think very useful one.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:32 PM) Sanchez and Saladino play two. Bonifacio starts none. #DFAsoon Gillaspie has to be trade bait as well because he's not playing either. Love that Saladino is playing short. His defense has been pretty good at 3B.

  6. Lol at that fan throwing the HR ball back from Rios screaming F you lol
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) Just to note again, Catcher is actually the position where the Sox have their 2nd highest fWAR. Tyler Flowers has more fWAR than any of our position player regulars other than Abreu. Maybe you think someone will improve next year at one of those positions, fine, but I certainly wouldn't say "we must find a catcher" or "finding a new catcher is more important than 3b, SS, OF, or 2b". Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 6m6 minutes ago Before Geovany Soto's homer today, #WhiteSox catchers entered 14th in #MLB with a combined .674 OPS.
  8. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:31 PM) and how would you fix the holes .... more dumpster diving???? try to regurgitate old players to maybe be some what productive. Trade our pitching surplus of prospects for hitting prospects
  9. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:26 PM) dang it, i really have to go, esp when there is finally a great debate going on..... off the top of my head. q, putman to hous. flexi, phillips, davies 3-b, and nottingham with flezi being the wildcard. it would be nice, but well. How does that fill any of current needs at the MLB level? Feliz is the closest to MLB ready and he's probably a bullpen piece. Phillips is an outfielder..... Davis is in A+, we have a guy by the name of Trey Michalczewski who is producing at a similar clip than him and 2 years younger. Nottingham is 20 years old and is 3 years away.... Give me the proven stud in Puig....
  10. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:21 PM) and i nice way to look at the future of the team. this was done many time in todays real world. the economy.... but i am disgressing. the sox needs help. 1 player will not fix it. Why not get a proven player that has already shown signs of stardom than 2-3 unknowns?
  11. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) A couple of bobbles by alexei but he still made the play Classic Alex Rios hustle there.
  12. LDF, give me a trade proposal for Q that would address some but not all holes?
  13. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) The Sox need hitters throughout the organization so taking one of your top three assets and combining it with your worst asset to get one hitter is a good idea? Meanwhile the Sox as an organization are still devoid of hitters so what do the Sox do to get more hitters? Trade Sale? Come on Sox fans, think this through. You take a kid already at some prospects age with 2 years experience already with success over "prospects that deepen the farm" everyday of the week.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) anyone else getting twitter trolled by the KC fan @disgustedNYer ? Apparently this douche looked up anyone who has hashtagged the white sox and is in troll mode, me and raBBit have been having a little fun with him What a tool
  15. Trading Q for Puig would certainly get some of the burden off Garcia. Trading Shark would never net a return like this. If the Sox could resign Shark and get Puig for Q, you still have a formidable pitching staff. Sale, Shark, Rodon, Johnson, Fulmer? Maybe sign a FA for one year to give Fulmer time.
  16. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 12:32 PM) I thought I would revive this thread. I keep hearing that Rockies really want to trade Cargo for pitching. Cargo has been hot lately, getting his average up to the .250 range after a real slow start, which was caused by minor knee surgery last year. He has looked very good the last 2-3 weeks. Rumors are from non-media sources. Just sayin'. I'd rather have Melky
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 12:21 PM) not sure why we'd need to give up Avi even if it doesn't make sense to keep him. Basically what I said unless LA would send some prospects over as well.
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 12:14 PM) Matt Spiegel has been proposing a Puig for Quintana deal all morning. Matt Spiegel ‏@MattSpiegel670 12m12 minutes ago Avisail Garcia and Jose Quintana for Yasiel Puig. Who says no? I love Quintana but Puig is the type of talent I'd ideally want in return for him. Supposedly, Abreu and Puig don't get along. Thoughts, everyone? I'd do Q for Puig, but if they want Avi, I think we should get a couple prospects in return like De Leon and Verdugo
  19. Like it or not, I think Hahn did a pretty good job with the Peavy trade. Montas could be a starter but more likely a closer/8th inning guy if we still have Robertson. Avi is our starting RF, and Wendelken could be with the club next year because he is carving AA. Rondon looks like a bust but you take that risk.
  20. Shark and LaRoche to the Astros for Appel, Santana, Moran, Stassi, and Kemp
  21. http://tinyurl.com/olv2gnc Brian, if we can get that package from the Jays, I would take that and run.
