  1. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 12:58 AM) Nashville has 2 points on us. Would be great to close it out strong and take that #1 seed. Last we did that....it ended pretty well. Nashville and St. Louis both have only 1 point on us, not 2.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 08:06 PM) If he was outrighted, he already cleared. Ah, good call. Thank you, then yes that's good news.
  3. I hope Garcia clears. Not worried about Cleto. I want Drabek to be the long guy in the pen or 5th starter. No need for Surkamp with 3 lefties and I think he still has options left.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 03:43 PM) Remember when this guy wanted 5/100M? Who, on this board, really wanted Santana last off season? Either way, crushing blow to the Twins.
  5. Kaplan just said he would take Hendricks over Rodon for the next 2 years lmao. Also, said yesterday morning that the Cubs top 3 starters are better than the Sox, before Haugh knocked him down a notch.
  6. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 08:46 AM) Hopefully recently released Jose valverde I'd trade them Surkamp for a warm body. I mean a month of Gordon Beckham got a prospect with some upside.
  7. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 08:36 AM) this mock is a little of, well all over the place. https://mlbdraftcountdown.wordpress.com/201...draft-4-1-4615/ Yeah that's awful.
  8. Tigers close to acquiring a reliever.
  9. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 01:18 PM) i for 1 is surprise at both. for Carroll, i was really hoping that he would make the team. i hope the best for him. for Penny, i owe the sox management an apology for now, i didn't they would have sent him down. now lets see how long he stays down or will he be back up in several weeks. To me it was an easy decision at least on Penny because he had a disappointing spring. They want to see Drabek for a longer period of time, who has pretty good stuff, rather than exposing him to waivers again.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 11:15 AM) McPhee, Rolle, Royal are all 3 year deals. All of Rolle's guaranteed money is in the first year. And if McPhee busts, they can get out of the deal for the 1st year as well.
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 11:00 AM) I can see it now! Samardzija is gonna suck. Sale will probably be injury plagued. Abreu will have like 10 HR's by September. Cabrera will be suspended. Eaton will be stuck on a wall somewhere. Alexei will get traded for some dope. Micah wont be God. Robertson will be demoted to set-up man then long relief. Penny will be in the rotation. Bryant will be MVP. Cubs in playoffs. fathom will have permanent diarrhea. Dick Allen will find no use for being argumentative any longer. kyyle will transition to a woman... etc. etc.. Well that's taking things a bit extreme.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 10:45 AM) Its seems like any year in the past that there were high expectations and a buzz around the Sox the season ultimately ended in disappointment. Whenever the overall view of the team is that they greatly improved on paper through FA or trades it just doesn't translate to wins and success. I really hope that this isn't just another one of those years. Every team has question marks. Sox stay healthy, get a little luck, and their young guys and bullpen do above average, this team can go pretty deep in my opinion. Look at the Angels, they have the best player in the game. They've gone to the post season 3 straight seasons with him, and haven't won a game.
  13. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 10:10 AM) I think the Bears have signed more free agents this year than the Packers have in the past 10 years. You can blame Emery and Trestman for that. Zero depth and aging players. At least Pace/Fox have brought in young free agents on prove it deals.
  14. Bears will sign C Will Montgomery to a 1 year contract. Looks like no Wisniewski.
  15. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) I thought there was always a cutoff button There has been lol.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:21 PM) Wasn't last year the opening day in which he homered and threw a shutout? I believe so, and it happened in Australia right?
  17. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 03:49 PM) Samardzija...I haven't really watched much ST, but has he been pretty tough to watch, the entire month? Yeah, it's Spring Training, blah blah...but by this point of the month, it should be more about getting into your normal rhythm, and not experimenting, etc... Kershaw had an ERA over 6 last spring.
  18. Mike Thorne has a final 3. Pitt, Kansas, and Illinois. 5th year center.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) Interesting to compare Hoffman's recovery to that of Aiken/Matuella. Personally, I don't want the Sox to take either. Frankie Piliere ‏@FPiliereD1 On his road back from TJ surgery, #BlueJays prospect Jeff Hoffman threw a 1-2-3 inning today in ST and worked at 95-98 mph. Wow I'm the complete opposite. Sox could have (assuming Shark signs extension) 4 starters with at least 5 years of control. Ones could stay the 5th starter while one of them develop for a year or two.
  20. If Aiken and/or Matuella are there for the Sox at 8 I will be ecstatic. Sorry to hear about both of them regardless, it sucks.
  21. Are you guys playing on PS3 or PS4? I have PS3, how is the game on there?
  22. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 07:26 PM) Think the word raving is an understatement based on the way Pleskoff was speaking on Rodon. It really seems all too good to be true. As I've said before, with Sale-Q-Rodon all around for at least the next 3 years, things become so much easier to build around. Try at least 5.
