  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) Stuck watching the Kaplan/Ventura interview on csnchicago. Of course, one of the first things Kaplan brings up is the Cubs signed Lester first. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Ventura actually did stop him lol. Ventura said whoa whoa we were first! And kept repeating it. I thought that was hilarious.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 02:41 PM) Really 3b is up to Davidson. If he hits, he will steal the job from Conor. If not, he won't. Defense won't really matter because Conor isn't very good either. Agreed. I think if he can have another solid ST, he can earn a job this year.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) You can't argue with a 30 homer ceiling. This is why I'm still on his bandwagon. Even though he struggled heavily last season. He still hit 20+ HRs. With how the league is scarce with power, you don't give up on that. Especially since last year was his first bad year professionally. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) if he can hit avg 240+ with his power, it can be what he is saying. again trying to pull the wool over our eyes, by implying that the sox are looking. instead of saying that they are hoping that Davidson can rebound and will not spend nothing more. I'm sure a lot of us would take .240 AVG with 25-30 HRs.
  4. Besides the obvious, I'm excited to see how Sanburn does.
  5. Great deal. Low risk, very high reward in my opinion. I always loved Jesse Crain.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 12:33 PM) That is a great question. I think with Hahn in place you let him go. I agree, Hahn has shown he can do it on his own. Having top prospects like Rodon and Hoffman at the top of farm would of been incredible.
  7. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 11m11 minutes ago If a TOR/Duquette deal is finished, compensation will be substantial. Jeff Hoffman discussed. Looking back now, if the Jays were heavily pursuing KW like reports said they were until Duquette came along. Would you rather keep KW or get Jeff Hoffman compensation? I think I know the answer, but it's slow around here and just wanted some discussion. I would of gladly take Hoffman or Dolton Pompei (another rumored player for compensation) for KW.
  8. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 10:02 PM) This newcomer named Sting is pretty over. Gotta say I didn't see that coming. I could definitely see a Triple H-Sting Wrestlemania match.
  9. Finally watching this episode for CFs, and I didn't know Eaton's WAR was 5.2 last year. That's insane.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) Why are the Nationals so antsy to trade a SP? That rotation would be the best in baseball without question. Strasburg Scherzer Zimmerman Fisher Gio Wow. Because they also have University of Illinois product Tanner Roark, who is only 28, who was 15-10 with a 2.81 ERA last year. They could get quite a bit for Zimmermann since he only has one year left to replenish that farm system.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) That only seemed conceivable in part because the white sox are insanely aggressive with pushing guys upward. 21 year old? 250 total minor league innings? 5 innings above A ball? Most innings in a season 110? 82 innings last year? Sure why not, he's ready. What's your view on recent college draftees that are ranked in the top 100, like Rodon?
  12. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) Between Nats and one other team. I'd rather him go to the Nationals. That rotation would be so much fun to watch.
  13. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 03:42 PM) Cotillo tweeting that industry thinks Nats are moving in on Scherzer. Could move Zimmermann. Zimmermann to the Cubs would make sense like it was rumored to be earlier in the off season. I could see a deal around Baez and Almora.
  14. Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora 3m3 minutes ago New Bears GM Ryan Pace is bringing Saints top scout Josh Lucas with him to Chicago. Lucas will take over as director of player personnel Great start for Pace hiring Fox and getting the Saints top scout.
  15. QUOTE (coco1997 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 02:07 PM) Rangers close to acquiring Yovani Gallardo. Good for the Brewers. Sherman tweeted out I believe that with the money they save, they will make a push for Shields/Scherzer.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 12:20 PM) I enjoyed the next 2:30 much more. You're an Indiana fan......?
  17. QUOTE (staxx @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 10:58 AM) just think if davidson and johnson can regain form. we have potentially 6-7 top 100 prospects on top of our talented MLB team. can't remember the last time i could say that. Johnson already graduated from the prospect list with his late season experience 2 years ago, and beginning of last year. With that said, Rodon and Anderson are for sure top 100 prospects and in my opinion Micah, Montas, and Adams are all borderline.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 17, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) Wiggins is blowin' up again. 27 points on 10/12 (4/4 from 3) through 3 quarters vs Denver. Don't let the Wolves get Okafor. I'd rather the T-Wolves get Okafor to pair with Wiggins rather than the Knicks....
  19. Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB · Jan 16 Top 100 out in late January. Top 30s (up from 20s) in March. @cody_schrader: When do you guys plan on doing top prospect list for 2015? It'll be pretty cool to see a list consist of 30 for each team. As far as the top 100 list, I could see Rodon, Anderson, and possibly Montas.
  20. The projected cap is 140 million. That would leave the Bears with 30,970,313 million under the cap before cuts/trades/signings/draft.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 17, 2015 -> 11:01 AM) Easiest vote for an underrated team of all time. Yeah, I'd say. Without Bumgarner's playoff heroism, you could of argued that Quintana is better than him. But, outside of this board who knows Quintana's capabilities, it would be hard to say Q is better than MB now to the average baseball fan.
  22. I'd love to get K-Rod for the back end of the bullpen. Then trade Beck, Webb, Erik Johnson, and May for Jason Castro and a bullpen piece.
  23. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 16, 2015 -> 05:31 AM) Alright Pace, s*** or get off the pot. I can't be refreshing this page and Twitter all day. I mean I totally will refresh this s*** all day long, but I shouldnt. That's what twitter is for.
