  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 10:03 AM) If he clears waivers and is outrighted, does he have the ability at this point to refuse the assignment? I don't think he does. thanks, Dick. I don't think he does either, because he still has one option left I believe. Does that mean he can't opt out of his contract because he still has options?
  2. QUOTE (rowand's rowdies @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) I wrote about the Bears last 5 drafts and the Pace hire. Enjoy (or suffer through I should say) the last 5 NFL drafts of our Chicago Bears. http://blog.suncoastsocial.com/the-last-5-...ars-hire-new-gm Conte was actually decent when he was on the field this year. Easily the best safety this year when he wasn't hurt. Not defending him, but there are much worse players than him.
  3. Play for: 1. White Sox 2. Padres 3. Marlins Never play for: 1. Cubs 2. Yankees 3. Tigers
  4. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 7, 2015 -> 09:29 AM) Technically, we had Ravelo as the #10 prospect, and Semien probably would have been around #4-6 had he qualified as a prospect. You are correct. However, I knew if we did make a trade, I knew that Sanchez, Semeien, or Johnson would be going.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 7, 2015 -> 09:22 AM) Since we're talking about it, I don't mind Danish calling Rodon a kid. If a 5 year old calls a 7 year old a kid, we would agree, and an 11 year old calls a 14 year old a kid, we wouldn't say anything, so a 20 year old calling a 22 year old a kid is not wrong in my view. I completely agree. I'm 23, played college baseball, and always would say that. Side note, amazing what Sox have done this off season without giving up any of the top 10 prospects. Amazing.
  6. Very cool. If anyone on the board goes to these games down south, I applaud you for being part of this. Wish I could. I think Charlotte, Birmingham, and Winston Salem will all have very interesting teams this year. I would expect to see those numbers climb even though the results are already great
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 6, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) Just lazy play. Need some shakeup back there. I really do hate Oduya and can't wait to see him gone next year. Ever since Crawford's injury, he has been pretty bad. He is coming way out of his net on shots and not securing rebounds. Really p***ing me off lately.
  8. Tigers signed LHP Tom Gorzelanny to a 1 year deal.
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 6, 2015 -> 08:53 AM) Steph is amazing no matter what you think of that segment. I just watched that segment and she had me laughing through out. I think she is so awkward lol.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 6, 2015 -> 08:39 AM) Some weird tweets and posts about the illinois program this morning. Some line-up changes coming due to injury? Care to post them? I saw Loyalty tweet something using the emoji of the face covering its mouth or something.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 6, 2015 -> 07:45 AM) If you didn't enjoy that ending last night, you don't enjoy life. I was laughing so hard. That was the dumbest ending in the history of RAW. The whole getting fired thing is old as others have said and the writers have gotten so bad, that its insanely predictable.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 01:07 PM) Chicago White Sox ‏@whitesox 2m2 minutes ago #SoxFest2015 hotel packages are SOLD OUT! A limited number of single-day passes will be available at http://whitesox.com/SoxFest Friday at 10 am. Maybe that'll buy K-Rod for the 8th inning. That'd be pretty cool.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 01:10 PM) http://instagram.com/p/xeq9VMsJe6/ Ha! Perfect. This could be a 2 year/7 million deal if he does well. One of the best bench guys in the league, I'll pay that every single time.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 09:53 AM) He doesn't hit left handed very well. .250/.311/.326, .286 wOBA, 73 wRC+ in 1947 career PAs against RHP as a LHH He said he hits lefties. Left handed pitchers, where he is much better when he hits righty. You just mixed them up.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 09:30 AM) I think just the opposite. The Astros are the most sabermetric team in baseball. Viciedo is a sabermetric bum. I understand, but they wanted to spend a ton of money on a closer when they were #2 to both Miller and Robertson and that that is not part of the saber metric system.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 09:21 AM) Yeah, sometimes there's a lag time between a signing being made public and a physical to make it official. Could be days, and they're obviously trying to move Viciedo for anything. Viciedo makes a lot of sense to the Astros in my opinion? Anyone agree?
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 09:15 AM) Looking at the makeup of the team, it's too bad Davidson isn't good enough to be a straight platoon with Gillaspie at 3B. If he has another good ST, I think he can certainly compete to be that platoon for Gillaspie. Then make the bench Davidson, Bonifacio, Danks, Brantly/Kottraras QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 09:16 AM) Finally, what SoxPride18 and I have been clamoring for for months!!! That's what I'm talking about. Had this signing in my very first off season mock.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 3, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) Things have been pretty slow around here, so I just wanted to create a discussion regarding how things have gone so far this off season and what you expect the rest of the off season. For me, I don't think I would of done a single thing different. I have loved every move so far whether it was the small Dan Jennings deal, to the huge deals with Samardzija, Robertson, and Cabrera. The rest of the off season, I would love to add Emilio Bonifacio, another bullpen arm (Adams? Crain? Cotts? Janssen? Ogando?), and possibly another starter depth wise. What are your guys thoughts? One chip down.
  19. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 08:35 AM) the @chisox bonifacio deal also includes a club option for 2016 https://twitter.com/JonHeymanCBS/status/552110895779028993 Very creative by Hahn. He has a good year, he gets extended. I love it.

  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 3, 2015 -> 08:55 PM) Last I read he wanted to be a starter somewhere. A starter on a bad team or a contending team? Because I think the Sox could/will be a contending team, and I think he can definitely start here at 2B.
  22. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/104...icago-white-sox Thoughts?
  23. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 31, 2014 -> 04:02 PM) Great reporting by Cennelly there too. Ever hear of Google? QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 31, 2014 -> 04:02 PM) Great reporting by Cennelly there too.
