  1. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 08:35 PM) Dan Hayes of CSN has mentioned Rasmus as a possible LF option still. Where did he say this?
  2. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 09:05 PM) Yep, the LA / Phillies trade is what I was wondering about. If the Sox are looking for athleticism/speed then Revere would be a nice grab, if he's even available. What is Revere's contract?
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 08:01 PM) Dodgers now have Kershaw/Greinke/Ryu/Heaney http://lasordaslair.com/2014/10/21/lets-st...rting-rotation/ According to this article, Zach Lee's their best internal option. Danks would still make some sense for the back end. Jayson Stark did say Lee was involved in trade with Rollins but thats speculation as nothing official has come out yet.
  4. Dan Hayes @CSNHayes · 13m 13 minutes ago Left field, bench, relief among areas #WhiteSox still working on. http://bit.ly/1vG3PXl Colby Rasmus Emilio Bonifaco Brandon Morrow/Joe Thatcher This helps especially if Viciedo and/or Danks is traded.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 07:36 PM) Yeah, I really can't rationalize the trade at all. Especially when you factor in Haren and his 10M contract. Dodgers paying entire salary on Haren
  6. There is a 3rd team involved with LA and PHI
  7. Guys on top of my wish list right now in order. Jay Bruce Emilio Bonifacio Colby Rasmus (if miss on Bruce) Brandon Morrow
  8. QUOTE (Real @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 05:24 PM) Think Brett Gardener could be had for our LF issues? Highly doubt it. They just signed him to an extension last year.
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 01:27 PM) He has trouble throwing strikes but his true value is allowing the flexibility to keep Rodon out of the bullpen. He also strikes out people and a lefty. I think he would come pretty cheaply.
  10. I'd also love to add LHP Anotnio Bastardo.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 09:44 AM) I thought it was very interesting how Hahn kept referring to the big 3 in the rotation, and then he seemed to really quickly mention Danks and Noesi. It didn't seem like someone who was confident that those two would be in the rotation come April. I caught that too. Something could definitely be in the works.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 09:42 AM) So I am absolutely not trolling here whatsoever, but I think Ervin Santana makes a hell of a lot more sense than Edinson Volquez. I agree, but he also wants 5 years last I heard. Both are the same age.
  13. I would love Volquez, especially if something is on the table with Danks.
  14. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 09:02 AM) I think the options come down to this: FA: Melky Cabrera Colby Rasmus Nori Aoki Trade: Crawford Ethier Victorino To me, I'd go for Melky and Rasmus, as you don't have to give up any talent to get them. Rasmus can probably be had on a decent deal (3 years for $33M or so). If the Dodgers want to pay half of Crawford's salary to play for the Sox (plus Sox give up close to nothing), then that slides up the list. That would be my order via free agency. Via trade, that is ugly. I think Bruce can be had too.
  15. No chance this happens but holy crap it is nice to think about. I couldn't imagine what I would do if the Sox got Longoria and/or Myers
  16. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 07:38 AM) Under team control for three more years. His contract isn't bad, either. $12MM in 2015, $12.5MM in 2016, and a $13MM team option in 2017. Not bad at all for a player at 28 with a career OPS of 790. Trade Viciedo to the Mariners for Maurer Or package Vicedo, Hawkins, Montas for Bruce. Would have to get rid of Danks though I think in order to acquire Bruce.
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 07:30 AM) He's going to be 30 when the season starts. I'm not certain that I want to give him a 6 year deal. I understand that but Lester is going to be 31 when the season starts and he got 6 years. Scherzer could get 7-8. So you know Samardzija will ask 6-7. I don't think 5 years happens.
  18. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 07:15 AM) Lester signing with the Cubs shouldn't affect what the Sox do, but I'd like to see Jay Bruce on the Sox. I think the Sox would have to give up too much for him, though. I don't see a scenario where the Sox wouldn't have to give up Montas, Danish, or Anderson to get him. Bruce is signed for 3 more years, correct? If so, then I think I could part with Montas and Hawkins for Bruce definitely. To me, that just changes draft strategy and I would go college pitcher close to MLB at 8.
  19. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 03:06 AM) Visual aid. His fastball does seem to have a jump at the end. Certain looks faster than 92. I can't figure out if his breaking pitch reminds me more of Jenks or Santos. I think Santos because Jenks was more 12-6. Santos has more slider movement. First off, what an awful song selection for that video lol. Secondly, he does have some life to his fastball at the end it looks like. Robertson definitely fits the mold what Hahn wants to build with a ground ball/strikeout pitcher.
  20. With Lester getting 6 years. I think that's what it's going to take Shark to get resigned. 6/110-120 is something I could see happening to get a deal done.
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 07:19 AM) Now with Lester signing. Cincy may start their rebuild. Latos anyone? Leake? If we use anymore more of our assets for trade, it will be for a bat and not for a pitcher imo. Our starting 3 is very, very good with Sale, Shark, Q. Just need to sign some depth at that position. Rasmus comes to mind now even though I'm not a huge fan via FA. And Bruce would probably be my first option since Melky looks out of our price range.
  22. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 02:57 AM) "The Mariners have renewed interest in outfielder Dayan Viciedo, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports." Here we go again. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 02:57 AM) At this point, I'd take Maurer. Just get something done already. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 06:34 AM) I know it's a long shot but I would love for the Sox to get back Dustin Ackley in any deal with Seattle. He could be a good left fielder for the Sox, and he wouldn't break the bank. Imagine this line up: Eaton - CF (L) Ramirez - SS Abreu - DH LaRoche - 1B (L) Garcia - RF Gillapse -3B (L) Ackley - LF (L) Flowers - C Johnson - 2B (L) What do you think? isn't Ackley a free agent anyway? Or no? Im not sure.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 11:21 PM) Castillo for sure as well. If Rockies make that trade, they might as well trade Tulo to the Mets. Agreed, get as much value back as you can.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 10:59 PM) ‏@TomLoxas Cubs talking with Rockies. Cargo the big bat to entice Lester? Hopefully he would take the Jeff Blauser Title of once a Cubs killer, always a Cubs killer I would figure Baez and Edwards would be the center pieces.
