  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 10:48 AM) We are 100% done and there is a chance ILL and others could add some guys so I think overall the Big Ten could improve. I think the only player left on Illinois' radar is Marcus Lovett. Unless Murray reclassifies to '15.
  2. Another poster said he would offer John Ryan Murphy, Brady Lail and Abiatal Avelino.
  3. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 10:39 PM) True , I forgot. And how he mentioned that maybe he could end up somewhere else too Yeah but he did say is that he wants to win with the White Sox. I wouldn't be too worried about that because Sox still have control of him for 2 more years and 3 more years of arbitration. So 5 total years, which would take him to 33 years old.
  4. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 10:34 PM) Sorry if this is dumb/been discussed already, but should we worry about trading alexei and viciedo and the effect it'd have on abreu? Just wondering because the whole Cuban thing and him mentioning when he won Roy how having both has really helped him, etc (with him having the opt out etc) Abreu did address that when they interviewed him when he won ROY. He says they were a crucial part but he said he understands that its a business.
  5. Went on the Yankees board to see what they would offer for Alexei, one poster suggested JR Murphy and Shane Greene for Alexei. What do you guys think?
  6. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 10:03 PM) I understand everyone's concern about dealing Ramirez but if they can snag Syndergaard or Wheeler they have to make the trade. While I disagree with the premise of their Cuddyer move, I don't think that Sandy Alderson is an idiot. Cuddyer isn't going to be the only thing the Mets do this offseason. Cuddyer alone just doesn't make any sense. Get them to overpay. Exactly. The Cuddyer move is a win now move. They will make more trades/signings this off season so they can compete for the division next year. Wait for them to overpay just like Jimmy said.
  7. Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi 7m7 minutes ago Tigers acquire Anthony Gose from Blue Jays for Devon Travis. According to baseball america, Travis was the Tigers #1 prospect. They traded their #1 prospect for Anthony Gose lmao.
  8. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 09:28 PM) Montas and Rondon have to go on or they will be exposed to the rule V draft. Saladino would have already been on if not for his injury. I agree that Montas should go on because someone would use him as a bullpen piece in my opinion. But, I think there is no way someone picks up Rondon.
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 09:42 PM) Montas 3 IP, 7 hits, 4 er, 1 bb, 2 k Final AFL line- 3.52 ERA, 23 IP, 22 H 10 BB, 19 K Rough outing. Walks are a little high, but he is striking out a little less than 1 an inning as a starter. Not entirely bad.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 08:05 PM) I guess. Pretty amazing Cervelli has played professional baseball for 10 years, and he has just over 2000 PAs. He doesn't play a lot. Yankees get back lefty reliever Justin Wilson.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 07:52 PM) Cervelli to Pittsburgh. Back up plan that they can't resign Martin?
  12. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 07:53 PM) I don't think they let Fernandez go. Ravelo, Jaye, Montas, Rondon, and Saladino will be added. No way they add Jaye. He hasn't proved himself above AA yet. Saladino is interesting, but I don't think we have to worry about him because of his injury.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 07:33 PM) The first question is who do we have to add or risk losing to Rule 5? Well that was my question, who's eligible for the rule 5 draft that we would need to protect? Isn't Ravelo and Montas eligible?
  14. Players that I think will be out righted off the 40 man: Ronald Belisario Raul Fernandez Jared Mitchell
  15. Next Thursday is the deadline to protect players from the Rule V draft. Who is eligible to be had in the Rule V draft for the Sox and who do you guys think will be protected? Sox current 40 man roster is at 36 right now.
  16. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 07:07 PM) what kind of pitcher is wheeler profiles to be. a #1 or #2 or #3??? #2-#3
  17. Yeah no chance on Harvey. Just a thought, if the Mets are set in stone on making the Mets having Montero the center piece of a Ramirez trade. Would Montero, Molina and Reynolds be too much for Alexei? My reason behind Reynolds is that he could hit, but I'm not sure if he can play a good SS though. This would still make Semien/Sanchez expendable for trade also.
  18. Bruce Levine @MLBBruceLevine · 9m 9 minutes ago White Sox and Mets talks still fluid on Alexei Ramirez
  19. Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 16m16 minutes ago #Padres are reportedly willing to listen on starters Kennedy, Ross and Cashner. Story via @Brian_Baker_: http://sbnation.com/e/6969326 Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 8m8 minutes ago Among possibilities #Braves are considering: Trading a reliever for a back-end starter.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 10:40 AM) He certainly has some flair Wow. That's power you just can't teach.
  21. Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS · 32m 32 minutes ago teams are calling with trade interest in heyward, justin upton and gattis. #braves http://cbsprt.co/1EqXPXy
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 04:26 PM) Colleen Kane ‏@ChiTribKane 34m34 minutes ago Hahn on Alexei Ramirez trade rumors: Will listen, but "it’s certainly not something we’re pursuing on our end or are eager to convert on." Yeah I think that Hahn would have to be blown away to make an Alexei deal.
  23. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal · 12m 12 minutes ago #Angels remain open to trading Kendrick for player or pitcher under comparable or longer control. Kendrick eligible for FA at end of season. I think this makes sense for both teams, probably the Sox adding a prospect also in the deal. The Angels are starved for pitching as Weaver and Wilson are not the same anymore and injury prone. This would get the Danks contract off the books, only get Kendrick for one year and have Micah Johnson develop some more in AAA, while making Semien and Sanchez more expendable in a trade for starting pitching or outfield help. On top of that, if the Sox manage to get Sandoval, the line up, and overall defense in the infield has gone up tremendously. The savings from this deal could be invested into the bullpen or a lesser FA DH like LaRoche or outfielder like Denorfia. Again, I'm just thinking out loud here, but right now, to me this trade makes sense. Eaton Kendrick Abreu Sandoval Garcia Laroche Ramirez Denorfia Flowers Sale Quintana RH starter FA/Via trade Noesi Bassitt Thoughts?
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 10:14 AM) Andy Martino ‏@MartinoNYDN On Alexei Ramirez, #WhiteSox prefer young SPs like Syndergaard/Wheeler/Montero, while #Mets prefer to deal Niese/Gee/Colon. (1/2) But that's an early read on the situation. Not saying the gap is unbridgeable. Also #WhiteSox, like #Mets, in mode of trying to build contender. So while they'd deal Ramirez, it's not like he's burning a hole in pocket. Mets have no business even mentioning Niese, Gee, or Colon because that doesn't fit the Sox plan. IMO, it's the Mets that is the team is desperate, not the Sox. Alexei for another 2 years I would love.
  25. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 10:19 AM) i wonder who is going to blink first???? then there is the dodgers and oak It would definitely be the Mets to blink first. I mean they already gave up the 15th pick for Michael Cuddyer, there is big time pressure on their GM too.
