  1. The more I think about it, the more I want this kid on the Sox. He fills the lefty bat void that would fit nicely behind or in front of Abreu. Plus, he brings tremendous defense in right field. That mean's 2/3s of the OF would be solidified by a gold glover and a gold glove nominee. I then would sign him to a 6 year 90 million dollar contract. Thoughts?
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 01:39 PM) Jerry CrasnickVerified account ‏@jcrasnick The #mariners are expected to shop OF Michael Saunders hard at GM meetings. Both sides appear ready to move on. Reply Retweet Favorite More It wouldn't shock me if a Viciedo for Saunders deal is discussed. Is he a good defender? Never really been a fan of his.
  3. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 12:18 PM) But, but, we can't have that many lefties in the starting rotation! It breaks some imaginary rule, somewhere. Seriously though. I would rather give Bassitt a shot over trading top prospects for Samardjiza. I'd be fine with that if they trade Danks though Sale Samardzija Quitana Noesi Bassitt
  4. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 11:58 AM) If the are going to use Anderson to get a starting pitcher, I would hope that starting pitcher is better, younger and more cost effective than Samardjiza. I agree.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 11:25 AM) If Oakland is agreeing to a 72 hour extension window, Samardzija is going to cost you Tim Anderson (plus more). The idea is that you can get him as a rental and either agree to an extension later in the year or get a first or second round pick for him after he leaves. Yeah I guess I could see that. I texted my cousin who's best friends with Jeff to see if he can get any info out of him.
  6. I would definitely trade for Jeff Samardzija, pending on an extension only. So we would need a negotiating window and if a deal cannot get done then no deal. I would trade Micah Johnson, Hawkins, Beck and a fodder for Samardzija
  7. QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 06:06 PM) Mets are a close to competing. They only need a SS, and LFer they have a rotation and bullpen. If they think they can compete I could see it. Their payroll is low too. Alexei and Viciedo for some of their young pitching depth.
  8. Well deserved. Hope he has enough shelving for all his awards this year.
  9. Mets: Rafael Montero, Steven Matz and Cesar Puello Yankees: Clarkin and Judge Dodgers: They wouldn't give up Pederson, Seager, or Urias.
  10. JJ Stankevitz @JJStankevitz · 1h 1 hour ago If Frank Montas can consistently throw the changeup he just did to strike out a righty...he's gonna be a heck of a starter. #WhiteSox JJ Stankevitz @JJStankevitz · 14m 14 minutes ago Frank Montas: 4.2 IP, 3 BB, 5 K, 5 H, 2 R. Command was sharp in first two innings and was spotty as game went on. #WhiteSoxTalk

  12. Viciedo and Phegley for Castro and Brett Oberholtzer?
  13. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 09:28 AM) i would even settle for comp picks or slot and money. I would love a comp pick for Viciedo.

  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 08:26 AM) So I need to find a RB for this week off of the scrap heap, any thoughts on this pile of garbage? Lorenzo Taliaferro Bal - RB Peyton Hillis NYG - RB Bryce Brown Buf - RB Cedric Peerman Cin - RB Toby Gerhart Jax - RB James Starks GB - RB All garbage. But, Taliaferro gets the most PT out of all of them.
  16. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 08:30 AM) Good call. For as upset as most of us are about Viciedo, non-tendering him would be stupid. I think he gets traded pretty soon. Agreed. I would tender him and then try to trade him. Even by tendering him, they would be around 56 million in contract commitments for 2015.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 10:35 PM) I saw indefinitely. How bad did it look Emelin (Mon D man) hit Sharp into the boards, and it looks like Sharp's knee went pretty hard into the boards from the hit. Sharp hardly put any pressure on his knee coming off the ice and to the locker room.

  21. http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/sellin...ee-agency-pitch Thought it was interesting that Hayes got Lester to get some quotes in. Would you guys go after Lester? I know he's another lefty but he doesn't cost a draft pick and does a good playoff history. What he will get on the open market is scary what some numbers are being thrown out there, but if you were GM, would you bring in Lester? If yes, on what terms, if no, why not? Discuss. Sale Lester Quintana Danks Noesi Sale Lester Quintana Noesi Bassitt (if Danks traded)
  22. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 01:16 PM) Matt Swartz's highly celebrated arbitration projector was released on MLBTR: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/11/proj...s-for-2015.html Here's the Sox section: White Sox (6) Ronald Belisario (4.151) – $3.9MM Tyler Flowers (3.148) – $2.1MM Dayan Viciedo (3.123) – $4.4MM Hector Noesi (3.006) – $1.9MM Nate Jones (3.000) – $600K Javy Guerra (2.133) – $1.3MM This should be a pretty reliable frame of reference for discussion until the actual figures come in. Definitely would keep Flowers, Noesi, Jones and Guerra for those prices. Viciedo is a toss up. Hope you can trade him, but possibly keep him Belisario is done. QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 01:30 PM) Agreed, so couple that with the 45.9 already signed up and we're looking at 51.8 in commitments. If these numbers hold true with the arbitration players guestimates. 51.8 million in commitments has a lot of room to spend this off season and next. I can't wait until Danks contract comes off the books now.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 02:44 PM) Trayce isn't exactly burning up anyone's prospect lists anymore. He's a good defender, draws walks, has power, just doesn't hit for much contact and strikes out a lot. Still could see him as a 4th OFer.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 01:35 PM) https://twitter.com/BerniePleskoff/status/529718236670341121 I'm assuming this is nothing. Bassitt had a long, weird year. Should be competing in March. Trade bait. Kidding aside, this is weird.
