  1. So with the Rays GM and Maddon leaving, you think a possible rebuild/fire sale is on its way in TB? This is just pure speculation on my part. But, I would be interested in Longoria, Cobb, McGee, Jennings and Joyce. What are your guys thoughts on this? I think out of those, Cobb, McGee, and Joyce make the most sense for this team. Obviously Longoria does, but that would require a huge package of players. Again, just pure speculation on my part. Stir up conversation again.
  2. Illinois just offered Morgan Park PG Marcus LoVett. 4* recruit with offers from Kansas, DePaul and Tennessee so far. He has stated that he wants to stay in Illinois to play college basketball. This kid has tremendous handles and is a true PG. Go watch his mix tapes on youtube. Unreal.
  3. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Oct 23, 2014 -> 07:56 PM) Doctor in NY tests positive for Ebola. And he rode the Subway yesterday. Possibly could infect more.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 23, 2014 -> 05:39 PM) Geez Heyward is only going to be 26? I feel like he's been around for 10 years. And Upton is only 27. Just turned 27 too. I'd make an offer for Upton definitely.
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 23, 2014 -> 12:33 PM) Was Eaton's defense really that good? Did you watch any Sox games this past year?
  6. I think the voting goes like this. SS Escobar, Alexei, Hardy. Even though I think Alexei should win, but the Royals. CF Eaton, Bradley Jr, Jones
  7. MLBtraderumors also suggested this idea in order to keep Gattis and put him in the OF with Betancourt catching. Since, both Upton and Heyward are in the last year of their contracts and still young, they could be hot commodities on the trade market. I think Heyward makes the most sense because he's a left handed bat that plays excellent defense, and whose power numbers can climb in the Cell. But, I think Upton would have an absolute field day at the Cell. Put him behind Abreu and that is a scary, young, and in the prime of their careers 3-4 combination. Of course, if either were to happen, I would want an extension. I think I would offer both 5 years around 80 million.
  8. How would people feel about Justin Upton or Jason Heyward, especially if both were to sign an extension?
  9. MLBtraderumors.com mentioned that Toronto has been getting calls for Adam Lind. Mentioned the Sox for one team that could be interested. Thoughts?
  10. Thomas said he wanted to win a National Championship his freshman year and wanted the #1 recruiting class......come on man..... Under Billy Kennedy (A&M coach), they are 50-49 overall, 19-36 in conference, haven't finished higher than 9th in the SEC and no NCAA births. LOL
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 11:12 AM) Yep. And I keep saying I won't get invested but I do. Illinois bball is easily my #1 sport. They were a good to great program from the time I was a kid up to the time I was out of college. I've seen the mountaintop twice and like a heroin junky I need more more more. Same man. Thomas can really bring back Illinois with the guys already committed.
  12. Jerry Meyer tweeted out last night saying he's hearing its between Texas A&M and Illinois with A&M leading.
  13. QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 06:51 PM) It may be a little too silly to think about, but screw it, trade DV to a team in the comp rnd and for their pick. I will be happy. That actually wouldn't be a bad idea, if worse came to worse.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 05:12 PM) I enjoyed this: Lol this is great.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 01:05 PM) How has everyone liked van Riemsdyk? He's been pretty good. Wouldn't be surprised if he's in the top 4 next year and replaces Oduya. I think next year the D pairing will look something like this: Keith-Seabrook Hammer-TVR Vet FA-Johns Rundblad
  16. ET said the deciding factor probably will be who will win when he's there. Illinois might have the best roster with that.
  17. Well I am 6-1 now. Made another trade. Traded Eddie Lacy and Vernon Davis for Ben Tate and Martellus Bennett. QB Aaron Rodgers RB LeSean McCoy RB Ahmad Bradshaw WR Julio Jones WR Dez Bryant WR Emmanuel Sanders TE Martellus Bennett FLEX WR Mike Wallace DEF Lions K Dan Bailey Bench QB Alex Smith RB Ben Tate RB Isiah Crowell WR Josh Gordon WR Malcolm Floyd TE Jason Witten TE Dwayne Allen
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 09:52 AM) My Current Top 10: 1. Carlos Rodon LHP: Should be everybody's consensus #1 prospect. 2. Tim Anderson SS: Will be a top 50 prospect on many lists. 3. Francellis Montas RHP: #1 starter upside, relief prospect floor. Will be on many top 100 lists. 4. Micah Johnson 2B: 80 speed, LHB at 2B. Defensive and injury issues but very high upside. Will be on top 100 lists. 5. Tyler Danish RHP: Had a very impressive year. Many think he could end up in bullpen because of pitching motion. 6. Courtney Hawkins OF: Bounced back this past year. Birmingham will be an interesting challenge. 7. Spencer Adams RHP: 2nd rd pick. 49 K/5 BB in short season. Top of rotation starter upside. 8. Matt Davidson 3B: Horrible season. Still a very high ceiling though. 9. Trey Michalczewski 3B: Very important season for Trey's prospect status next year. 10. Carlos Sanchez INF: Not a terribly high ceiling but very solid MI option. Just Missed: Micker Adolfo, Rangel Ravelo, Chris Bassitt, Cleuelis Rondon, and Chris Beck. This is probably my same exact list too.
  19. Also, if Bears fail to make the playoffs and under 500, Trestman's seat will be extremely hot and the end of the year. And I think Bears will be 3-6 after these next two games.
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 19, 2014 -> 07:16 PM) Long blamed fans for not making enough noise when Miami had the ball on 3rd downs. Which is pathetic. Fans have a right to boo when they overpay for tickets and the team (0-3 at home) does not do **** when expectations were so high.
  21. Every fricken main event whether its on RAW or Smackdown is really p***ing me off. It's either a crap match, or a really good match that is disqualified by the authority (Rollins, Kane, Orton). So dumb. It's sad that the WWE has to go to its old stars to make a main event like the Rock. I think another poster mentioned this, but they are not developing anyone new and exciting. I think Ziggler can be a guy, but the WWE keeps screwing him over. Daniel Bryan's career could be finished and CM Punk quit. Dumb. Even dumber is that Lesnar isn't even in the building 80% of the shows. They took it away from Bryan because he's not that, yet Lesner hasn't been on the show for a month and probably won't fight until January.....
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 17, 2014 -> 09:03 PM) A top prospect with ties to Cincinnati? Of course the Sox will take Ian Happ. (kidding) Yeah nothing really about that profile excited me at all.
  23. Top 51 from fan graphs. And others who missed the list. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2015-mlb-draft-top-51/
  24. QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 17, 2014 -> 08:27 PM) furthermore, look at last yr draft. the 1 pitchers that was drafted what, 13 was not sign, b/c Rodon agent wanted all he can for his client. if there was a chance to have sign him, that draft would have been even better. Rodon was my #1 player on my board. With the chance of being an ace for many years, I would take Rodon 10 out of 10 and go over slot then worrying about round 2-5.
