  1. Wendelken ending the year strong. 5IP 6H 1ER 0BB 7Ks. His BB/K ratio is amazing. Anderson 1-1
  2. I know it doesn't mean much, but Sanburn got put at number 11 on our top 20 list on mlb.com
  3. QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 1, 2014 -> 11:46 AM) Daniel Hudson returns from back-to-back Tommy John surgeries. Good to see him back.
  4. Wendelken 4 Ks thru 2 innings with 1ER. Interesting tidbit from this game. Basto is playing RF. For me, I like this a lot because the kid has held his own hitting at high A and he's only 20. Moving him to the OF definitely seems logical and hopefully he could excel there. Hawkins 1-2 Barnum 1-1 2B
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 1, 2014 -> 11:37 AM) I don't think Garcia struggling lately means anything. The guy was out a long time. It is going to take a while to get back to normal. Agreed. Like most have said, its still like his spring training. Has he even had 100 ABs yet?
  6. QUOTE (professa @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 08:29 PM) My dream offseason Sign V-Mart to a 4 year $60 million deal Sign Russell Martin to a 3 year $33 million deal Sign Brandon McCarthy to a 3 year $30 million deal (Love his advanced numbers) Sign Emilio Bonifacio to a 2 year $10 million deal as a super sub Sign a couple of relievers ($8 million) We have around $44 million committed to next year. Throw in another $10 million for Viciedo, Flowers, Noesi, and Nate Jones arbitration contracts. Add the above signings and the payroll is just over $100 million 1. Eaton CF 2. Martin C 3. Abreu IB 4. Martinez DH 5. Garcia RF 6. Ramirez SS 7. Gillaspie 3B 8. Viciedo LF 9. Johnson/Semien/Sanchez ect. 1. Sale 2. McCarthy 3. Quintana 4. Rodon/Noesi 5. Danks Only deal I like out of this is Bonifacio.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 08:00 PM) Keon Barnum doesn't get a lot of attention, but he really had a nice second half. He stayed healthy this year, which is great. Completely agree.
  8. Beck very good tonight and he's done. 5IP 5H 0ER 0BB 6Ks 63 pitches, 49 strikes.
  9. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 10:44 AM) Sanburn looks like a nice get for Dunn. John Danks, front and center please. Yeah, strictly a reliever. he's 23 but should start out next year in AA or even AAA.
  10. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 10:21 AM) Wilkins, Sierra and Snodgress in the clubhouse, per Merkin Snodgress trying to earn a spot for next year I see.
  11. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 1m The Oakland Athletics are closing in on a deal for Adam Dunn. It's Happening!!!
  12. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 1m Source: #Athletics front-runner for Dunn - and he will waive no-trade clause to accept deal. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 58s To be clear: Deal between #Athletics, #WhiteSox not done. Per source, A’s lead pursuit. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 34s Dunn would represent an upgrade for Oakland, which ranks 20th in runs scored in MLB in the month of August.
  13. QUOTE (BaconOnAStick @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:52 PM) There is zero doubt. It will be unanimous (or at least should). You know some east coast writer will still vote for Tanaka.
  14. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 2m Through Adam Dunn's no-trade power, he can steer any trade. He is expected to choose today. Oakland might make most sense, because of the DH.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 08:38 AM) Yep. Too much smoke here. He's going. I could put with him for the last 4 weeks, but getting Wilkins at-bats is more important. With his season, you have to see what he could do at the MLB level. Dunn has to see that.
  16. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 4m The Chicago White Sox are discussing possible trades involving slugger Adam Dunn with the Oakland Athletics and Dodgers. Beat me to it flavum. And my bad, didn't know you posted the Dunn news in the Wilkins thread.
  17. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 08:08 AM) Please let there be truth to this! How desperate are the Giants? Desperate enough to play Dunn at 1B? Kinda makes me think Oakland is a more likely landing spot. Well if the Giants want to have Posey at catcher because Belt is out for the year I believe.
  18. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 32m #SFGiants, #Athletics pursuing Dunn, per SI’s Tom Verducci. Lot of chatter among scouts yesterday that Dunn could be on move. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 31m #WhiteSox’s Dunn has limited no-trade clause. Teams on it not known, but #Athletics frequently appear on players’ no-trade lists.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 09:21 PM) Montas 5 IP, 1 hit, 1 unearned run, 1 bb, 1 k 60 pitches Wish there were more strikeouts but he obviously pitched real well still.
  20. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 09:04 PM) lol Joba f***ing with the ump. That was great lol.
  21. QUOTE (BaconOnAStick @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:49 PM) Eh, I could see Ale' getting offered Arb. He actually turned it around the past couple months. Agreed.
  22. Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 2m Hahn on more moves Sunday: "Deadline is 11 o’clock tomorrow. So we are going to keep working and exploring some opportunities." 11am or 11pm? And are more deals in the work? For the sake of the Sox and Dunn, send him to a contending team to finish his career.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) Scot Gregor @scotgregor · 2m Hahn says trading Beckham, De Aza frees up $10 million-plus for 2015 that can go to other players Give some of that to James Shields.
