QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 07:27 PM) Anyone else think that Heath might be next in line to be called up for a spot start? His last 5 games as a starter have been pretty impressive. Surkamp will before him. Surkamp has a 40 man spot. Heath does not.

Noesi painting 95 and then follows that up with a nasty change up. That was filthy. -

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 06:55 PM) Glad to see Avi in the dugout having some fun. Wish he was still in the line up though I really think him and Jose have become best friends. When Avi was healthy, they were always talking or with each other it seemed like. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 04:51 PM) Dan Hayes @DanHayesCSN 3h LRT: Know #Mariners were out to scout #WhiteSox last week. Know Ramirez intrigues them. Viciedo has reportedly been a target before. Like I mentioned before, if they want Alexei, be prepared to pay up. Best SS in the AL this year.

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 04:52 PM) Joel Sherman writes that the Yankees may have interest in Danks. Maybe something like John Ryan Murphy, Miguel Andujar, and the #17 draft slot ($677,400)? I'd love that.

Jose Bautista and Brett Lawrie both left the game with injuries today. If I'm Rick Hahn, I'd call them and say Gordon Beckham and De Aza is available.

Martinez, Sandoval, Lind, Seth Smith, Rasmus, or maybe Adam Laroach if they push to compete next year., would be the guys I'm looking at in that order. If we could sign Martinez and trade for Grandal, we could run out the following lineup: 1. Eaton, CF 2. Semien, 2B 3. Martinez, DH 4. Abreu, 1B 5. Garcia, RF 6. Gillaspie, 3B 7. Viciedo, LF 8. Grandal, C 9. Ramirez, SS That could be a pretty damn good lineup and we'd still have some interesting pieces in AAA (Micah, Sanchez, Davidson, Ravelo). I'd rather go after Sandoval because then he can play 1b and 3b and alternate dh with Abreu and Gillaspie.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 04:33 PM) Didn't he play for the AZL Sox last night? Yes. So I assume he's rehabbing there.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 02:56 PM) If the Sox don't intend to spend substantial money for a #2 starting pitcher this offseason, they really should be looking to trade Alexei (while his value is still high). That's why I think it would be wise to sign Shields and put him in between Sale and Quintana.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) Jose taking balls!!! And then that ffs That's gone at our park.

QUOTE (iguchi=dank @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 01:57 PM) The good thing about the offseason this year is that we don't really need A list guys. Just need to find some angel pagans and a couple pitchers that are average. Rienzo and Noesi are huge black holes Disagree, I'd go after Shields

Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 17m Buddy Bell talked today about numerous topics including Carlos Rodon. He expects his signing to go down to the Draft signing deadline, but. Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 17m he would like to see him sign sooner than later because he has such high expectations for Rodon. Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 17m Bell: "The sooner you sign and with his ability and how I see him, this kid is going to be in the big leagues soon.... Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 16m More Bell: "... It just seems to me if money is the issue, he’s going to make a helluva lot more getting it started than not."

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) I love following the Montas starts. I agree. I love Montas. I'm keeping my eye on Jaye this second half, see how he bounces back after strong starts in Winston Salem.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 10:18 PM) Why bring in our ONLY lefty to face a switch-hitter and a righty? Because Ventura. Because Webb couldn't find the plate? I mean is it that obvious....

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 05:34 PM) Hey, I am also currently a sport management major. Only a year left.. We are hoping to be able to move in the Chicago area eventually.. I kind of figured I would have to start working with an independent league team or minor league team before being able to get into a front office of an MLB team which is also my dream as well.. Where do you go to school? I'm at Concordia Chicago with about a year and a half left. If I had my choice, I would love to move to the Chicago area. So I am really trying to find a job here after school than making San Diego my second option. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 06:03 PM) My sister and her family live there and it has amazing weather and outdoor activities. Traffic is about as bad as a normal big city, but the cost of living is really high and the people arent super friendly. If you can legitimately afford it and arent looking for any resemblance of a small town feel, then its a great option. Yeah the cost of living is pretty high there, but I am really hesitant on moving but my girlfriend is all set on moving. So I gave in but I get to choose where we live. I'd rather live in San Diego than a suburb of San Diego. I'm already in the suburbs here, and with the possibility of moving out to California, I'm thinking mind as well go big. Plus, the weather is great year round so walking is a possibility all the time.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 12:28 AM) San Diego is an area of towns. Are you a hippie or a yuppie? I prefer a yuppie. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 08:16 AM) Where will you be working? Getting around many areas in California is rough, that's my first reaciton. Haven't applied to any jobs yet. I'm still currently in school, but me and my girlfriend are deciding on what to do with our lives after graduation. I'm a Sport Management major so I would love to get into professional baseball somehow as a scout or front office (GM is my dream job). But I realize thats not realistic out of college. I would love to coach also high school (as I already have experience) or college baseball. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 01:47 PM) San Diego's pretty awesome. Weather is great (obviously) and I really enjoyed my three night stay there when I went down there to interview for a job. Yeah it was great, I was there for a week couple years ago for a Dairy Queen convention.

QUOTE (chisoxfan310 @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 03:23 PM) Let him replace Viciedo. Not yet. Gotta have patience with Viciedo, like Hawk said yesterday, some guys take a little longer to get going. Viciedo just turned 25. Plenty of time for him to turn it around.

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 03:13 PM) Now I really want him. Law on Abreu: "Abreu has enormous raw power, probably a 70 or perhaps higher, on the 20-80 scale. The power is evident in BP and should translate to 25-35 homers a year in the majors. The concerns about him revolve around his bat speed and his conditioning, only one of which can be fixed or improved at this point. " I want him too. Keep the Cubans coming.
