  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 03:35 PM) Hope Montas is part the future. That trade can turn out great for the Sox. Rondon is hitting 245 so thats eh but Wendelken is pitching real well lately too.
  2. Hopefully a trade is looming but this needed to be done. He needs consistent at bats. Infield at Charlotte is Davidson, M. Johnson, Saladino, Sanchez, Semien.
  3. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 03:31 PM) 2 legitimate league-wide superstars in Sale and Abreu, first time since....? Jose Quintana, what a stud, great Robin to your Batman Viciedo maybe as the DH? Connor? Flowers looks like he'll be at least solid. What about Avisail when he comes back, what a player he could be. And then we might be adding someone else in a few days here in the draft. Sleepers in the minors are Beck, Danish, and Montas who could be part of this a couple years from now. I think we have an excellent core. Add a couple more pieces and let's tear this s*** up. This is my core: Rotation: Sale Quintana Johnson (if he figures it out) Bullpen: Webb Petricka Putnam Belisario (8th inning role) Position Players: Abreu Eaton Avisail Garcia Viciedo Gillaspie (fringe) Alexei
  4. Beck's day is done at 6IP 5H 2ER 3BB 4K. ERA at 3.72 Thompson 1-2 with a HR and K Montas 7IP 5H 1ER 0BB 6K. ERA at 1.46 Barnum 1-2 with 2B, BB and RBI Anderson 0-4 K Hawkins 0-3 K Voight 2-3 with HR and 2 RBIs Is May hurt? He hasn't played in a while.
  5. I love Chris Sale. He is the best pitcher in the AL.
  6. Beck struck out Bryant lol. 5 IP 2 ER 4 Ks Montas 6 IP 1 ER 0 BB 5 Ks Anderson 0-3 Michalczewski continues to impress. 1-1 with 2B and 2 RBIs
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 02:14 PM) Haven't seen all of their big prospects but have seen several of them on their way up. He's the first where I was legitimately impressed. Yeah, I think he'll be the best of the "big four". Almora is still young, but I expect him and Soler will be gone via trade for some pitching I'm sure. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 02:14 PM) How soon does he go to Birmingham? Maybe by July? No way they continue Blough starting.
  8. Montas gives up 2 unearned runs. Errors by Anderson and Barnum. 4 innings and 5 Ks with only 1 hit for Montas. He's good....
  9. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 02:02 PM) He had the luckiest April I think I've ever seen. His BABIP was something like .600. What? His K% is climbing quickly
  10. Hawkins with a K Interesting to see Thompson in the leadoff spot now.
  11. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20140601 Erik Johnson for the Knights at 5pm Beck for the Barons at 1pm Montas for the Dash at 1pm Kanny with a DH today. Sanchez and Barnette pitching starting at 2pm
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 08:52 AM) His name is Micker Adolfo. Micker is pronounced Mike-er. He'll probably be playing for the new short season Arizona team. They begin play June 20. Yes thank you. My fault. But that'll be cool that he will be in the states this season.
  13. Zapata not on the DSL team. Possibly in Great Falls?
  14. I'm like 1-6 making game threads this year.....
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 31, 2014 -> 12:28 AM) I've heard Beckham was discussed as lately as Tuesday. And he wouldn't go far. Vogelbach, Pierce Johnson, Alcantra all come to mind for Beckham. Just a few names.
  16. No lineups yet. Let's get back over 500 again boys.
  17. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 30, 2014 -> 10:16 PM) I just googled him, ha, he's a left handed hitting outfielder that played DIII baseball, just like yours truely, but unlike me he was a superstar on a really good team that won the DIII title his senior year and then got signed to a minor league deal after going undrafted. Has good bloodlines as his father and brother also played pro ball, albeit without making MLB. He's hitting over .500 for the Dash in an extremely small sample size. Is also already 24, so would be a minor miracle if he ever panned out into anything other than org filler. Still, good story and always nice to see DIII guys in pro ball. Guy I played against in the GLIAC Jim Dieters was drafted in the 30th round by the Indians but never made it above A ball after suffering an injury. I played against him in regionals. I played for Aurora University. Jirchele went 0-3 against us. But they beat us 3-2.
  18. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20140530 Davidson 1-2 with a 2B and K Hawkins with HR #10 Wendelken 3 IP 1 ER 4 Ks
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2014 -> 09:58 AM) Yesterday marked the 55th game of the season, 54 being 1/3 of the season. I figured today was as good of a day as any to talk about player performances to this point. The A's Chris Sale, Jake Petricka, Zach Putnam, Tyler Flowers, Adrian Nieto, Gordon Beckham, Conor Gillaspie, Alexei Ramirez, Jose Abreu The B's Dayan Viciedo, Adam Eaton, Adam Dunn, Dan Webb, Andre Rienzo, Jose Quintana The C's Scott Carroll, Hector Noesi, Leury Garcia, Marcus Semien The D's Scott Downs, John Danks, The F's Paul Konerko, Alejandro De Aza, The Incompletes (so far grade in parenthesis based on limited sample size) Erik Johnson (F) , Javy Guerra (B), Felipe Paulino (F), Jordan Danks (F), Avi Garcia (B), Moises Sierra ©, Now let's see yours? No complaints here. I might put Danks in the low C category.
  20. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS 13m More #astros considering rodon and aiken for No. 1 pick. but might they pull a gordon surprise? #MLBdraft http://cbsprt.co/1k7wJOP
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 28, 2014 -> 10:03 PM) Not so fast. Sierra is still under the Mendoza line and Noesi still has an ERA around 6. Granted, they were good today, but patience. That's total on the season. Sierra is hitting 297 with the Sox and coming into tonight Noesi's ERA was 5.14
  22. Someone new every night contributing to the team. This is awesome SWEEP!!!
