  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 14, 2014 -> 11:20 AM) Doing the math, if they can't deal Kepp, or he isn't claimed, the Sox on the hook for about $7.5 million here. If someone does claim him, they can use that money on a starter.
  2. I agree. Kids now a days use a lot of arm in their motion. I coach at the high school level and pitchers and even outfielders are using all arm and upper half in their motion and crow hops. It's honestly harder than you think to change it.
  3. I'm pretty shocked by this as well. Gotta give credit though, he makes a mistake, knows it and has the balls to DFA him and eat that much money left unless someone claims him. I really hope someone claims him lol
  4. Thompson 1-2 with 2 RBIs Ravelo 2-3 with a 2B Snodgress pitching well
  5. White Sox Line up 3B Semien 2B Beckham DH Abreu LF Viciedo SS Ramirez 1B Konerko RF Sierra C Flowers CF Garcia Let's get a W
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 13, 2014 -> 04:14 PM) The thread. I have to think the Sox are going to trade one or two infielders at some point, and then he comes up. So yeah. For minor league pitching or outfield prospects?
  7. Hawkins doubled and Barnum walked.
  8. Davidson ended up 3-4. Big thing from EJ's line is that 0 walks.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2014 -> 08:57 AM) I heard one of the minor league announcers commenting on this (referring to the long at-bats)...the White Sox organization should do the same thing. Any hitter who can manage to get a 10 (or more pitches) at-bat gets a free steak dinner. Simple idea, but it's amazing how much good instilling this type of philosophy from the very beginning of their time in the organization would do by the time they reach Chicago and Steverson. We're already seeing some of this out of Semien and Eaton, for example. Of course, a lot of it's currently ending up in K's for Marcus, at least for the time being until he can make some more adjustments. We do this for the HS baseball team I coach. The players get a steak dinner for a 3 pitch inning, or more than a 10 pitch at bat. The players get a gatorade if they were a walk from an 0-2 count or have more than 5 foul balls in an at bat.
  10. Kanny came back and won in the top of the 7th. Trey 1-3 with an RBI Engel 1-3 with a 2B
  11. Barnum 2-3 now. Wheeler for Kanny pitched very well again. Kanny's pitching has been very good this season.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2014 -> 03:12 PM) Please please add another outfielder to this roster. ADA is unplayable against LHP. Leury is a waste of a roster spot right now. I'd rather have him in CF right now than De Aza
  13. Good time for De Aza to make up for his embarrassing blunder in the 1st.
  14. Barnum with a HR and Basto is 2-2
  15. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 11, 2014 -> 02:05 PM) Noesi got a good arm. Can anybody who's into stats tell me what's his ERA taking away the performance against tbe sox? Not including today. 0-1 10 IP 10 hits 5 ER 2 BB 9 K 1.20 WHIP
  16. Noesi has struck out Goldschmidt twice today lol
  17. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 11, 2014 -> 01:20 PM) Hawk is crazy saying that should have been a "team error." That should have been an error given to De Aza plain and simple. In 2012 De Aza was one of my favorite players. It's gotten to the point now where I don't care if he ever plays another game for the Sox. The Sox better do something to improve their outfield defense. His name is Adam Eaton
  18. Basto is hitting 305 in high A as a 20 year old. Doesn't walk, but not a bad K% either. Can he become a prospect again?
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 10, 2014 -> 06:30 PM) Here. A lot of this is because Putnam's become so reliable now, and they don't want to risk losing Noesi, because of his potential ability as a starter. They also were able to pile up some experienced veteran depth in AAA in Guerra and Francisco. What they're planning to do with Webb going forward, no idea. IMO I think Webb or maybe even Petricka are lead candidates for the closer role in the future. I think both could be a very good 8th-9th inning when their control is good.
  20. Still good to see Phegley doing well in AAA. Just launched a 2 run HR
  21. After the first hitter, Cleto looked real good. His slider was sharp tonight. All I gotta say is what a play by Alexei
  22. That's a nice inning for Danks. Quality start for him.
  23. Give me Kolek, Aiken, Rodon in that order.
