  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 05:21 PM) 3 years 12 millions. 4 per roughly Thank you for the clarification.
  2. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 04:15 PM) Awesome site, thanks for the tip. I'll be wasting a lot of my time there. Ortiz is a guy I'll be following very closely. Outside of Danish, he and Olacio have perhaps the greatest upside of our lower minors arms. Very projectionificable. I think Montas can go into that category. The kid has electric stuff. Just needs to control it all.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 05:11 PM) Agreed, and that can change. Even if not, 4 million is hardly an albatross. Didn't Keppinger sign a 3 year deal worth 18 million? 6 million each year? But, if Hahn can pull off a deal speculating with the Jays. Wow
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 05:00 PM) Yes. Lawrie and Beckham are very different. The "bad" Lawrie post-rookie year is better than the best of post-rookie Beckham and is much younger at a position we have nobody at. If the Jays agreed to flip them straight up, I'd get it done before AA came down from his high. If Santiago and Beckham can get Stroman and/or Sanchez thrown in, I'd give Hahn a lifetime contract. Only move that is questionable in Hahn's short tenure as GM is the contract to Keppinger
  5. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/thread...nchez-Stroman-) Interesting to see Toronto's fans' reactions for context. Most think they'd be foolish to give up Stroman/Sanchez for Beckham/Danks. Some think Stroman/Sanchez is sufficient for Sale. (HA!) All think Gordon Beckham is a bust and/or piece of garbage. I don't blame them about all that besides the Sale idea of course. That's not sufficient
  6. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) The White Sox are not going to sign Ellsbury... I agree. That money would definitely go to McCann. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) Sale Quintana Danks Santiago Johnson Rienzo Axelrod That is how I see it right now, though guys like Snodgress and Beck are closing in. It is also assuming that we don't pull in a RHP project. I could see Bassitt making a statement this upcoming year.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) The article said they were interested in Beckham. Then it said the MAY have interest in Santiago or Danks. Now all the crazy trade proposals heavily slanted in the White Sox favor start pouring in. There is no way the Sox are getting Lawrie for Beckham and Danks. I would say yes that's probably 98% true. But then what about Beckham and Santiago then? I could see that happening.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 02:38 PM) If Hahn has been offered Lawrie and something else for Beckham and Danks, he better agree to the trade before the Molly wears off. And again, why pay John Danks $15 million a year when you have one of the better pitching prospects in the game almost ready to go? I agree with you. Why are they looking for pitching when they have those 2 on the horizon? Maybe he doesn't believe their as good as prospects? Maybe he just wants to win this year and Beckham and Danks/Santiago fit that bill? Given the history of AA (Jays GM), I can see the aggressive side while Hahn restocks the farm with close to ready major league talent. Just like what he has said he's targeting the whole time. Do you see where I think this deal is possible?
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 02:35 PM) That's exactly what I was thinking . While I was previously concerned with Lawrie's recent injuries , I'd be more than happy to give up Danks and his salary and Beckham and please give me a 23 yr. old Lawrie. More salary off the books = better chance to sign Ellsbury. This is precisely what Hahn has shown he wants to do. ML young ready talent just like A. Garcia. An offense built around Avi Garcia, Abreu, Semein, Lawrie and Viciedo can be scary good.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 02:33 PM) The problem with that trade is Toronto wouldn't be on board with it. Let's all get serious here. We all hope and most think Danks will be better next season, but he was getting lit up and is owed a ton of money. Beckham has been having almost identical problems as Lawrie, but he costs more. A trade like this makes no sense for Toronto. I didn't think it made sense to give up 2 top prospects for a 38 year old knuckle ball Cy Young winner. If Beckham and Danks/Santiago is what they think is best available or a better fit for their team, then I can definitely see this happening.
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 02:31 PM) Yup, that's where I'm at as well with Danks. I don't want to just dump him. That's why I think Hahn would be asking for Sanchez and/or Stroman
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 02:24 PM) Plus nothing. If the Jays eat all that salary and are still willing to give Lawrie, you take it and run with it. I agree with you but i don't know if I could see Hahn doing that without getting some sort of pitching back
  13. I would definitely be on board with a Beckham and Danks for Lawrie +. I wouldn't know what the plus would be. Lesser prospects?
  14. Garfein just tweeted a picture of Abreu wiping tears away walking on field
  15. I would cry if Sale got traded to the Cubs. This will never happen
  16. Sox 4 pitchers have a combined 0.69 era so far and Mitchell is having a really good fall
  17. If Sox do trade one of their pitchers like Santiago, how would you guys feel if Hahn went after Lincecum on a 2 year deal worth 24 million?
  18. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) I am really hoping that they draft Kel Johnson in the second round. He can be the 1B of the future, and he can really hit. I would also like to see some left handed bats be added to the system as well. Remember about Keon Barnum. He was hit with the injury bug last season but started finished strong. He still has a good future in my opinion QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) It would be difficult to pass on Hoffman. Sox don't need pitching right now. You can get pitching in the later rounds. QUOTE (staxx @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:35 PM) At this point id be shocked if we don't end up with either Hoffman/Gatewood/Turner I would be perfectly fine with Gatewood or Turner preferably Gatewood. Get a top position prospect that can be a factor in the line up in 2-3 years.
  19. I'm getting a feeling that we are going to see the Gillaspie/Keppinger platoon for at least this year. My feeling is that obviously that we should be getting a catcher through free agency. But, my feeling is that if we do trade pitching, it will be for a CFer or a RFer and move Garcia to center. I just don't know who's available via trade in the OF. Anybody got information on that front? Reddick? Jennings? Markakis? Stanton?
  20. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 02:12 AM) Gatewood, Jackson, and Rodon are ones I am hoping for. For some reason I just don't want Tyler Beede to fall to #3. He'll fall to 3 but I just don't see the Sox taking him there. I see Gatewood at 3 then some pitching after that.
  21. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 19, 2013 -> 09:18 PM) I am drafting Gatewood, because he has the highest potential and ceiling out of any player in this draft class. He can be a true cornerstone player for the Sox and his bat could be something truly special. Plus, I can see him being a superstar player that will help bring fans back to the Cell Completely agree. My vote goes to Gatewood to take at 3. Him along with Hawkins figuring it out and Thompson keeps improving. This farm system won't be in the bottom 5 in the next few years.
  22. Those talking about Phillips. Olney just retweeted something saying that the Braves want Phillips if the Reds take back Uggla and Braves would add a top prospect or 2. Can't get the tweet because I'm on my iPod. But there ya go.
  23. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) Purcey outrighted to AAA. 40-man at 36. Good. Sign Cecil for the bullpen and get done guys via trade now.
