  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:55 PM) personally I think this closes the books on Granderson. Thank God. Yeah I did not want Granderson playing on the South Side
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:48 PM) Angels will be looking to deal Kendrick for some pitching Santiago and Beckham?
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:35 PM) Thanks. Doesn't hurt to bother me too. I think fathom got the most info on this deal than anyone since he bugged me to go and get him some. Did you get my DM or no
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:35 PM) Thanks. Doesn't hurt to bother me too. I think fathom got the most info on this deal than anyone since he bugged me to go and get him some. Love getting info
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:31 PM) For the naysayers: would you rather pay this money to Granderson or Abreu? Think of the next several years. Abreu easily. Not even close. And I sent you a DM
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:22 PM) The sox were in it if it stayed below 80 which they thought it would. This was plan A this offseason. What's the next plan now that this will be finalized?
  7. Guys look what Dan Hayes just retweeted. YES!!!!!
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 09:59 PM) Definitely would seem that Ramirez is going nowhere if this does go down... No but maybe Beckham?
  9. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) Mr. Bow Tie himself just announced it during the game. No way he would announce that on air without being wrong, right?
  10. I'm going to be so mad if he goes to the Rangers
  11. QUOTE (ChiSoxFan05 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 08:44 PM) Jon Heyman seconds that Texas is in. Heyman just going off Knobler and Texas beat write..
  12. QUOTE (Baron @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) Yep....many speculated a few pages earlier that this would be the case. Can they have a deal in place without announcing it?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 06:11 PM) I doubt they'd announce this before the Series ends. Yeah that makes sense. Wonder if a deal is in place just wait to announce it.
  14. QUOTE (Sockin @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 05:59 PM) Gammons says the general opinion in baseball is the White Sox over the Astros at $70 mil. https://twitter.com/pgammo/status/390972866965299200 Now I wonder when we can expect a deal. Hope it's the Sox
  15. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 05:19 PM) Good on you White Sox. Get what could be a legit power bat, won't cost a draft pick, and should be a part of the next White Sox core even if the team likely won't be competitive next season. More smart signings and trades please. Abreu and Salty/McCann and maybe a couple trades for bats (Trumbo? Lawrie?) would be ideal. Mix that in with the 5 million Sox will have in International money and the #3 pick with early picks in rounds could make a huge difference for this organization.
  16. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 04:21 PM) Is this guy strictly a 1B? Yes/DH
  17. Olney just tweeted Astros are skeptical about their chances of signing Abreu. Made a strong offer but all but certain they fell short. White Sox? I like the sound of that
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 02:47 PM) Just not getting my hopes up. But if the Sox do sign him, I hope he's a force. The Sox need some relevant offensive players in the game. That's why I think he will sign with the Sox. Abreu can see that other players from Cuba (Contreras, Alexei, and Viciedo) have been successful with the Sox and a high market team that will fit right in the middle of the order
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 02:31 PM) Seems pretty legit when they allow mlb.com to put out a story that says multiple industry sources say he's down to three teams. He'll be an Astro. Why do you say that? He can very easily sign with the White Sox. Astros do have Singleton on the way , so I honestly don't know why their going after him. Olney just tweeted that the Red Sox don't expect to sign him and that the Astros and White Sox are seen as the front runners
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 01:57 PM) Sox really need this guy to start showing fans they care about turning this around. If they get him, combine that with a Viciedo/Beckham Santiago blockbuster trade for a catcher/third baseman and reliever or some combination and we might be on the right track IMO. Their not trading Viciedo but possibly Santiago and/or Beckham. But this deal will be 6/70
  21. QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 06:27 PM) Bald host guy on sports talk live.... C-McCann/Salty/AJ 1B- Dunn 2B- Beckham 3B- Viceido SS- Lexi RF- Garcia CF- Dejesus LF- Cruz DH- Didn't say. "If Miggy can play 3B so can Dayan" I wouldn't mind giving Cruz a 1 year deal. But I don't even think he knows that the Sox are after Abreu
  22. Olney just tweeted that Abreu's deal could be up to 70 million and that the Astros White Sox and Rangers are the front runners. Ill do 6/70
  23. QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 11:21 PM) He's a non-prospect. Too old for the level he was pitching at to not strike many guys out. Can definitely be a bullpen guy though.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 09:05 PM) Wow, the fact that we got anything is a win. I wonder what we could of gotten if he actually pitced and pitched well....
