  1. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 02:01 PM) Will Carroll recently tweeted that three of his credible sources have Peavy going to three different teams. I'd post the tweet but I'm at the Nats game. Well played Rick. The Will Carroll tweet is "Three different sources told me they think Peavy is going to three different teams. All usually credible." Another tweet "If I was going to name the teams, I would have. I try to keep things as accurate as I can and clear no one but Rick Hahn know now." Bidding war!
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 01:59 PM) Without looking at them specifically, I'd guess that'd put them 5-6 and 9-10 in our org. Yeah Dickerson is a 1B who's hitting 296 14 HR and 57 RBIs in AA. And Kingham is 3-2 with a 2.89 ERA in AA.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 01:57 PM) So far all this seems standard, and at least from the PLayer's side, Peavy seems quite content with how the Sox have treated him and kept him informed. Yeah, Peavy does seem pretty content with how Hahn has handled all of this.
  4. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 01:53 PM) Honestly, with Rios's effort and power slump lately, add in his contract, I would be thankful for a B prospect in return. I don't know anything about Dickerson and Kingham, decent guys? Well according to mlb.com Kingham is #9 and Dickerson is #14 in the Pirates system.
  5. Danny Knobler reiterating that Pirates have had interest in Alex Rios. And that KW has been scouting their farm system. Hopefully this could happen for like Dickerson and maybe Kingham?
  6. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 01:32 PM) Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 1m Other teams are reasonably certain the White Sox are going to trade Jake Peavy. He's preparing to go. http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/...icago-white-sox … We all expected this. Hopefully same goes with Rios.
  7. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:33 PM) As an aside, I think we can accurately surmise that Hahn is in fact GM. If KW were still making the calls he wouldn't have had the patience to wait this long. Completely agree. Hahn is being VERY thorough.
  8. I'd be interested in Choice and Russell as position players. That's about it from the A's though.
  9. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:29 PM) If the Cards package of Wong, Martinez, and Kelly is true what would Oakland be offering to top that? Sonny Gray, Ynoa and what else? I'm just not a big fan of their position players in the minors with the exception of Russell. Martinez and Kelly >>> Gray and Ynoa
  10. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:21 PM) With the way some of our middle infielders have played in the minors I would rather get Adams instead of Wong. Probably take out Martinez then.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:11 PM) We're probably giving them a lot of money in that scenario too. It's definitely not an overpay. We're improving their team dramatically With this trade, there would be not one major weakness in that line up. Easy favorites to win the NL
  12. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:09 PM) Sox fans seems a lot more bullish on this trade than Cards fans. Maybe the trade would end up being two out of those three. Then I would assume some added prospects from the Cardinals. If the Cards take out Martinez, then I could see a Blazek and Piscotty because Cards are higher on Martinez than Kelly.
  13. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:05 PM) Cruz is a free agent in 2014. I didn't know that. Thanks for Clarifying.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) If the Sox move Peavy and Ramirez to St. Louis, and the Sox get back Wong and other good prospects, maybe the Sox have to include a minor leaguer that's not quite ready, but potentially good...like Micah Johnson. We'll see in 75 hours or less. i don't think there would be a need for that. Cards would get a starter to fit in right behind Wainwright and an obvious SS upgrade all signed through next year. No chance we need to add to that.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:03 PM) Yeah, I think I'd be pleased with that deal. The players alone don't make it an amazing deal, but there has to be something said for the cash savings too Well Wong can be the every day 2b when he's ready. I love Kelly's potential. The way he pitches screams high upside 2-3 starter in him. And Martinez can be a front of the rotation pitcher too. I would do this.
  16. QUOTE (mike65 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 11:57 AM) I assume that if Rios is suspended it would be 50 games plus the postseason. Is that everyone's else assumption? Cruz**
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 11:54 AM) Depending on what MLB comes down with, these appeals might have a chance at some success, at least getting the suspensions cut down. With how big scandal is, no way this happens in my opinion.
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 11:53 AM) JIM BOWDEN ‏@JimBowdenESPNxm 16s Cardinals continue pursuit of Jake Peavy and Alexei Ramirez with Carlos Martinez, Joe Kelly and Kolton Wong's names being mentioned #RUMORS Honestly, I think I would make that trade. Kelly can fit into the rotation now. I love the way Kelly pitches. Adding Martinez and Wong to the mix, and I have a slight smile on my face.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 11:46 AM) Cruz is an idiot if he appeals Rangers also have to think of this too, Cruz can appeal and if he doesn't get suspended until 2014 then they have no RF. With Pence, he's a free agent at the end of the year and there would be no guarantee he would resign if Texas were to acquire him. With Rios, you can add him to the line up this year with Berkman being out for the year, and have your RF in 2014 with Cruz suspended. Rios seems like a logical fit.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 11:45 AM) At least with Peavy, I really want his innings to go to the guys we can develop with those innings. Long term, this franchise benefits more if Johnson gets 5 big league starts in September than if Peavy does. Agreed because it shows the organization what the Sox have in Johnson and we would most likely acquire a pitcher or 2 that could add depth to the farm. With Rios, we don't have anybody that can come in and be affective at the major league level. Although I would love to trade Rios, trading Peavy makes the most sense out of anyone on this Sox team.
  21. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 11:42 AM) Cruz will likely be suspended for the rest of the year. They have to do something if they want to play in October. Agreed. And I think it comes down to Pence and Rios. We'll see what happens.
  22. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/07/a-ro...rough-2014.html Biosgenisis suspensions can come this week. This can be huge for the Sox, Rios and Rangers.
  23. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) Could be more misinformation, but this article claims the BoSox interest in Peavy isn't what it seems, they are just "kicking the tires". They are more interested in Lindstrom according to this guy. Take it for what it's worth this time of July. Also if anyone could provide a little info on the prospects they mentioned on Boston's side. http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2013/7/28/4564...ires-jake-peavy For Lindstrom, I would take any 2 of those 3 players. Preferrably Betts and Marrero.
  24. QUOTE (mike65 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 09:50 AM) There is something to be said for being polite Lol. But honestly, it would take more than Martinez to get Peavy.
  25. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 09:35 AM) The question is how much of a bigger impact can Rios make than what they have already? And is that worth what the Sox are asking for? Not likely. You have a point, but the Rangers have shown they want to win now. And I.believe Rios is better than Murphy and the rookie they have going out there every day.
