  1. Jon Morosi just tweeted, "Mariners had high level scouts at Peavy Start yesterday and Brewers-Padres all week, the sort of thing a buyer would be expected to do." Now that's interesting.
  2. It's been a few days since Bucket has updated us on what's going on, I wonder if any new information is out there that we don't know about. If anything is close.
  3. Morosi just tweeted that Braves are actively going after Bud Norris. This makes more sense because they wouldn't be able to afford Peavy.
  4. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 09:11 PM) Don't you see this is another way for him to rip the Sox. He says they should get a great haul and then after the trade he can say they should have done much better. This is because he KNOWS they could have done better and reported it before the deal. Eh I don't see it like you do.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 09:01 PM) Exactly why Ricky only makes the move if it actually builds for the future. Wait it out and get a haul or keep a top of the rotation pitcher and a middle of the order hitter with reasonable salaries. These are likely 2 of the biggest moves for the SOX foreseeable future. I agree. More to the extent of Peavy though.
  6. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 08:59 PM) Heard that as well, was not psyched after hearing that I would figure we would trust Law more because of his knowledge with the prospects? Possibly?
  7. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 08:46 PM) That's why in the prediction thread I said neither would be moved. I think both get traded. Have to in order to build for the future.
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 08:53 PM) Keith Law on the score said the Sox should definitely get a much better haul for Peavy than the Cubs got for Garza Now I like to hear that. And Law hates the Sox lol. Make it happen Hahn, but only if the right deal is there.
  9. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 08:35 PM) Twitter be blowin up with all sorts of speculation A's Arizona Dodgers Red Sox Cardnals Braves Good lord, I'm gonna be useless for a week. Where do you see twitter blowing up? Who is tweeting anything?
  10. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 07:34 PM) Indeed since june Dunn has put up this line .271/.384/.535 - .919 and over the last 3 years here is how he has hit at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington .250/.400/.571 - .971 power is at such a premium right now because of the run scoring enviroment in Mlb i would'nt be supprised to see some quality low level players come back provided the sox paid off some salary. I would be looking at one of jorge alfaro or luis sardinas between a pending suspension and a possible retirement combined with their current standings i believe they're ripe for an overpay. No way we get Alfaro or Sardinas for Dunn
  11. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 07:30 PM) Scratch the Yanks off the list of teams for Dunn . Not that it was likely anyway. But f*** the Cubs for beating us to the punch 2 times now. Rangers could be a fit for Dunn since Berkman might not come back.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 07:19 PM) Semien 1-1, double Kid just keeps hitting, if he finishes over 290 or around 300, he could make some top 100 lists I'm sure.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 07:13 PM) Oh wow. That could be a huge deal Agreed. I wouldn't consider a package because that would be too much money to handle for the Rangers. So either Dunn or Rios if they were to trade with the White Sox.
  14. Berkman might not come back for the Rangers and is considering retirement. Makes sense for Dunn to go there and or Rios
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 06:57 PM) Rienzo through 7. Doubleheader. It's a no-hitter. Great job. 4 bb, 11 k 112 pitches, 69 K---thank god it was only 7 innings. Agreed. Hell of a game by him. He'll be with the big club soon
  16. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 06:47 PM) I'm really hoping Peavy goes to Boston and garin cecchini comes back our way, people are comparing him to a Bill Mueller type. Garin is about a year to a year and a half away and would give us time to figure out what we have in gillaspie. I would too like Cecchini as part of a package
  17. Rienzo with a no no through 6. Could be a September call up
  18. Soriano to the Yankees. Cubs scratched him from the line up. Trade is 99% done.
  19. QUOTE (soxsider11 @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 06:21 PM) Orioles DH Situation is terrible. Avg. 197 RBI: 42 Runs:47 HR: 14 OBP: 257. Dunn would be a nice power and rbi upgrade for them Rosenthal did tweet that O's are looking for a hitter
  20. Wilkins keeps hitting.
  21. QUOTE (Big Daddy Kool @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 04:18 PM) From Ryan Baker's Twitter: https://twitter.com/RyanBakerSports/status/...506230873128960 @JakePeavy_44 looks like he was saying his goodbyes to his #Sox teammates after 7-4 win over #Tigers. Expect a trade announcement soon... I don't know if I buy that
  22. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 04:03 PM) "The Cardinals appear unlikely to make a significant trade, according to Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. General manager John Mozeliak won't part with top prospects Michael Wacha, Carlos Martinez, Oscar Taveras or Kolten Wong unless a "major" upgrade at shortstop or a high-end starting pitcher becomes available." Per Steve Adams of MLBTR Just put that in the Peavy thread also.
  23. The Cardinals appear unlikely to make a significant trade, according to Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. General manager John Mozeliak won't part with top prospects Michael Wacha, Carlos Martinez, Oscar Taveras or Kolten Wong unless a "major" upgrade at shortstop or a high-end starting pitcher becomes available. per mlbtraderumors
  24. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 03:26 PM) Someone's gonna cave. Come on. Must. Have. Action. Well we know something will happen in the next 3 or 4 days. No way Peavy makes his next start.
