QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) Wow, seriously? How about the f***ing injury he came back from and the way he busts his ass unlike 99% of the rest of the roster? I agree. Peavy defintely deserves a standing ovation. I know he'll bring the most back in trade, and when that happens, I definitely will be sad to Peavy go.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 02:52 PM) People talk about his ERA being high, you throw out the game he tried to pitch with a broken rib and its about 3.50. You throw out the game before that when the Cubs lit him up and he may have been injured, it's under 3.00. I was just thinking this. Good point

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 02:45 PM) Braves considering rotation help with Hudson down, scouting Peavy tonight: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/07/brav...ation-help.html As expected, just wouldn't want to trade with him. Not enough pieces. -
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 02:21 PM) You could argue that Jake is outpitching Verlander so far. With six hits and a walk where is our clutch hitting? Where it has been all year. Non existiant

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 02:02 PM) Gregor says Sox are pushing Dunn. What you mean?
-
Just throwing it out there, I have to give Dunn credit that no matter what. He hustles out everything.
-
I thought Peavy was getting squeezed. Peavy put palms up asking where one was

God Flowers is terrible

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 01:38 PM) If Peavy pitches well get him out after 5 or 6 innings max. Disagree. Just leave him on a pitch count, no more than 105. If he leaves after 6 at only 80 pitches, scouts wouldn't like that.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 01:18 PM) If Peavy doesn't fetch what Garza got, we won't trade him. Agreed. -
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 01:17 PM) How do you lose one of your most valuable trading chips like this? Maddening. Typical of this organization. How is this the organizations fault? Crain has been on the DL already once this year and was on it a couple times last year I believe.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 01:30 PM) Anyone else having a hard time getting Soxtalk to load? Yeah I was having trouble. And I do will miss Peavy if he does indeed get traded

The Red Sox, Cardinals, Dodgers, Braves, and Orioles each have a scout in attendance, tweets ESPN's Jayson Stark, while the Reds and Rangers have two apiece. Keep in mind that their presence does not necessarily imply trade interest in Peavy. per mlbtraderumors -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 12:10 PM) Actually, this really isn't all that bad assuming he doesn't have anything that will keep him out the rest of the season. NL teams know he will not be available to them after the deadline because he won't clear so they may give up something useful. And the teams that are on top in the AL may as well knowing that someone below them could claim him, he could be totally healthy and the White Sox would have zero reason not to just let him go as a salary dump for nothing at that point. I see your point. What teams in the NL though? Braves? Dodgers? Dbacks?
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 12:01 PM) Why? I think the Sox are going to wind up with a few solid deals going down. They have the best hitter (outfielder), shortstop, starting pitcher, and reliever on the market. They'll get stuff done. No sens in forcing a deal 6 days prior to the deadline when desperate teams could up the ante. Well Crain is off the market now. Would Lindstrom be the best available reliever on the market now? There's Hochever, Gergerson, Thatcher.
-
If a team that claims Crain just to block another team, just keep him and resign him in the off season. Make sense?
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 11:57 AM) That's why he won't be dealt. When he's claimed on waivers, you can make a deal with that team, let him go, or pull him back, and the odds are good the claiming team will not make a deal for him. He'll have to clear waivers, something he won't do. Makes sense. Awesome.
-
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 11:53 AM) I would be surprised if we are able to deal him in August Why wouldn't we be able too? No chance he clears waivers.
-
I am so discouraged with everything right now.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 11:43 AM) Lindstrom, pack your bags That's what I thought too. Floyd being out for the season, Crain will likely be a waiver deal in August, lots have gone wrong this season. So disappointing.
-
Crain was discouraged from his throwing today. Crain will be an august deal most likely now.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 11:02 AM) People on Twitter are saying Kenny Williams has been spotted in Altoona, PA. Too bad the Altoona Curve are in the middle of a 10-day road trip. Give me Bell and Kingham if we can't get Hanson or Polonco

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 10:35 AM) It would be fun to have Garin Cecchini, Will Middlebrooks, and Jackie Bradley play for the White Sox I see what you did there....and I like it.

http://fullcount.weei.com/sports/boston/ba...un-to-play-for/ Crain says it would be fun to play for Boston.
