  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 08:41 AM) I happened to find this post rather enjoyable. It's funny. No, White Sox writers know exactly what's going on. They're employed by the team and told what to write by the team. This is leveraging on both sides. Thanks for the clarification.
  2. Mlbtraderumors just noted that Rios and Schierholtz are atop the Pirates wishlist
  3. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 11:26 PM) I've never seen SO MUCH misinformation during a Sox deadline. Must be one difference with Hanh compared to KW Yeah this is nuts and I'm not liking it
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 11:04 PM) Oh look... https://twitter.com/alexspeier/status/360248365142908929 White Sox writers need to figure it out then. Jeez.
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 10:49 PM) Peavy's not only scheduled to pitch tomorrow but appear at the Wild Pitches charity event after the game. Clearly we're looking at the weekend for any trade. Thornton was supposed to be in the charity event too and now he's in Boston.
  6. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 10:45 PM) Polanco would be fantastic, but I'd imagine there would be more than Rios in the deal. Also noted Dickerson. Good. Levine did tweet that Rangers and Pirates have been scouting Rios for 3 weeks. At least Kenny is looking at players we can't complain about.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 10:29 PM) Just got a text from my source to expect huge news in the next hour or so. Said to expect multiple White Sox players moved for an intriguing package that would shock everyone around the league. Oh yeah and I made that all up. Well that will get you to being ignored.
  8. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 10:21 PM) I feel like tonight is the night. Why you think so?
  9. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 10:17 PM) Also worth noting, Kennedy being blown up again. This time by the Cubs. Gonna be a 2 way battle between Arizona and Boston in my opinion. Both falling rapidly.
  10. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 10:02 PM) I still hope Towers is waiting in the weeds, ready to send over Davidson. And Owings. Boston and Arizona slowly slipping in the standings
  11. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 09:19 PM) I will be supremely disappointed if this is the only major move. I would too. Some of these guys need to be traded.
  12. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 09:02 PM) Not the greatest farm. Especially position players. Agreed, we would ask for Betancourt +++ and they would say no.
  13. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 08:58 PM) Would Middlebrooks, Ranaudo, and Brentz be enough in people's eyes as a return for Peavy? Replace Bentz with Owens and I'll do it but Boston won't.
  14. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 08:29 PM) Damn, so he is hitting .421/.450/.684/1.134 since the AS break and he hasn't even been trying?! That is what Hahn is showing other GMs
  15. Santana has been very inconsistent in his career, and this year he is pitching in a pitchers ballpark. And one poster said something about money, I believe Peavy is only making 2 million more than Santana if I'm not mistaken.
  16. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 07:53 PM) http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/danny-kn...lers-and-buyers Royals interested in Rios Beat me to it Baron.
  17. Danny Knobler just tweeted saying that Royals could be deadline buyers and sellers. Looking for right fielders, looking at Rios.
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 04:15 PM) Teams are going to want him before he starts tomorrow, I would think. Definitely before his start on the 30th I agree, that what's Bucket was saying that closer it gets the less he can say. Makes me thing that Peavy to Boston could happen very soon in my opinion. And no matter what team it is, I think it would be smart of Hahn to trade him before his start tomorrow.
  19. Heyman also tweeting Rangers after Rios.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 03:57 PM) Not the high price tag, but the part about being unsure about wanting to keep him for next year. I understand the price tag. But with Peavy, a team will get a #2 starter. And if this is true than Boston seems best fit because they can add payroll.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 03:54 PM) Well that's a bit confusing. Just makes me think even more this is leaked crap. That is confusing. And what you think is more leaked? That the price it to high or teams bluffing about being skeptical Peavy's contract?
  22. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) More news about the Rangers interest in OF Alex Rios TR Sullivan ‏@Sullivan_Ranger 6m Rangers discussing Rios with White Sox http://wp.me/p1rXwL-8WL4 Sardinas and Odor and call it a day.
  23. QUOTE (mike65 @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) Well, I have given Peavy a lot of thought but Crain has not been part of my thinking. This will be a little long but stick with me. I value what Beltran could mean as a mentor to Oscar Taveras next year so if the Cardinals keep Beltran then there is no room for Adams going forward. So, I am not in the camp that would not want to deny Adams a career as a starting 1B. I also think that Craig is a better 1B than an OFer so I orefer him to Adams going forward. It would be awfully hard to cash in on Adams but because the team is built again to win this year. If you are built to win, you should go for it. Assuming that the White Sox share some of Peavy's salary, I would be willing to build a deal around Adams. I am thinking out loud here but, maybe, this for Peavy and Crain: Matt Adams Anthony Garcia Mark Rzepczynski Fernando Salas Low level pospect If we are doing Ramirez as part of it, I add Kozma The reason Salas and "Scrabble" , as Cardinal fans call him, are included is that I don't believe the White Sox are in 100%rebuild mode and getting two veteran but low cost relievers would be helpful going forward. Of course, you could design multiple trade scenarios and this is just one of an infinite number of them. Please feel free to fire away. I don't see that trade working because the Sox don't need pitching prospects. They need hitting prospects. In a package of Peavy and Crain, I would look at a trade involving Adams, Ramsey, Carson Kelly, and 2 lower level prospects
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) Russell, Choice and Gray would be more than enough for Peavy Yeah it probably is lol. I would be happy with that.
  25. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 02:39 PM) I'd want Freiman and Taylor+ or Choice and Head+ from Oakland. Honestly, I wouldn't even want any of those packages. I'd want Russell, Choice, Gray, and a filler.
