  1. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 06:52 PM) I think Jones is going to be more situational. I agree with the premise, but not sure it's going to happen this off-season. And the amount of relievers available at the deadline will sort of determine his worth as well. With all that said, you are right that Jones should have a ton of value. Agreed. He has a good 1st half, with his stuff, his contract, and how cheap he is. Teams with good prospect depth could be looking to unload the farm for a guy like Jones. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 06:54 PM) Frazier way too low. Right now, I'd put him #4. Agreed. Frazier still has value and I think could net a low end top 100 prospect.
  2. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) Liking where this is headed, and I actually appreciate the front office not rushing this. This move is just as important as the Sale and Eaton trades, this is last MAJOR trade chip they have in the war chest, they need to hit another HR. Exactly. Although, I think Jones could be a huge piece to deal too.
  3. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 04:54 PM) I mean, for a "bridge" deal the money is still high, but it buys them some more time for the cap to hopefully go up, Hossa to retire, or figure out a way to kill Seabrook and Kruger, ha. Figure Kruger will be gone in the expansion draft.
  4. Discussed with one of my friends who is a huge knowledgeable Cubs fan. Asked him who he would give up for Q and Jennings and he said Schwarber ++
  5. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 12:35 PM) Man that Angels farm system is in bad shape. That is one team that should seriously consider a rebuild. They have 0 parts to move outside of Trout. Calhoun, maybe. Richards, coming off TJ. Simmons, how much are teams gonna pay for defense like they did? They don't have much of a team at all. Trout is keeping them relevant.
  6. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 10:40 AM) Talk of 2018 is crazy Talk of 2019 is best case rebuild scenario, everything that could have gone right for the Sox does 2020 - 2023 if we are not competitive, the rebuild has been a failure QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 10:41 AM) Again, I find this pretty realistic. I agree with this timeline.
  7. Missing OF Caleb Gindl that the Sox signed a couple weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure the Sox resigned Marcus Lemon. Other than that, looks great.
  8. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 12:48 PM) Something has to give soon. Waiting on that Rosenthal breaking news. That's who I'm waiting for. He's taking a break for a little bit, assuming he's on vacation or something.
  9. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) Gardner and Headley are not negative value pieces and may actually give the Sox a couple guys to flip at the deadline. And really I'm not on board with the idea of breaking loss records, having a watchable MLB team would be nice. They certainly don't add a lot of value in deals. If it means trading Robertson and taking back one of these guys to get a good return then do it.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 12:00 PM) Except there seems to be other corroboration of his story. Meaning? Sorry, confused.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 11:49 AM) Just keep in mind where Joel Sherman works... Keep in mind, BN is Kenny's mouthpiece too. It'll be interesting to see who breaks news since Rosenthal won't be tweeting for a bit.
  12. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 11:30 AM) This offseason is f***ing exhausting. The Sox FO is so incredibly predictable with the way they go about their business. It worked with Sale, and Eaton and both those deals are on paper great for us so.....
  13. If rumors are true about the Yankees wanting Quintana and Robertson (with Sox eating some salary), I think we can easily get 4-5 players for them. Torres, Frazier, Sheffield, and Fowler would probably do it if we were able to get both Frazier and Torres. If we only got to pick one I could see: Torres/Frazier, Rutherford, Sheffield, Andujar, and Fowler.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 08:18 AM) Eat some of(hell eat the whole damn thing) and just bring back a serious haul. Even if Sox eat only 5 million, that is a bargain for Robertson. Sox should bring back a massive haul for both.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 08:25 AM) The Charlotte lineup should have Yoan Moncada, Adam Engel, and Jacob May in it. The rotation will consist of Giolito, Lopez, and Fulmer with Clark and Burdi in the bullpen. Fun team. Tyler Danish probably in the rotation as well. Along with Delmonico, Peter, and Hayes. Could be a very fun team.
  16. QUOTE (BRIRO2017 @ Dec 26, 2016 -> 06:18 PM) God why cant people see this??? The sox DO have to deal Quintana this off season. This isnt Dwight Gooden. Or Kerry Wood. Hes never getting better than he is right now. He has 4 years of control. 3 is LESS lol. The market is weak. Hes not injured. Hes at his ABSOLUTE PEAK. You are rebuilding and you dont have to deal him now? Thats retarded. Yeah, I agree here that you have to trade Quintana before Spring Training. Like mentioned before, Quintana's value will never be higher, don't want to risk injury, and a half year/full year less of control. The players I can see keeping until the deadline are Frazier, Melky, and Robertson.
  17. Paxson comes out and says they need to be more athletic. Yet, signed Wade and Rondo lol
  18. Really hope Sox could get something done with the Pirates or somehow the Rockies chime in on Quintana. I really like a Glasnow, Bell, Newman, Diaz package for Q. Hopefully we can somehow get Meadows though
  19. WSD tweets that Yankees backed out which I'm fine with. I think Pirates nut up and trade for Q and keep Cutch
  20. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 24, 2016 -> 09:47 AM) If I were Toronto, I'd just re-sign Bautista to a one year deal (he's looking for one now) as opposed to giving up pieces for McCutchen. I think they'd definitely do both because they lost a lot in EE. Having an OF of McCutchen Pillar and Bautista would help ease the lose of EE.
  21. Blue Jays get: McCutchen Pirates get: Quintana White Sox get: Glasnow, Newman, Vlad Guerrero Jr, Alford, and Tellez
  22. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:51 PM) Does anyone else find it odd that raBBit is the only one reporting this three team deal -- and every other media outlet is shooting it down? Heyman was the only one shooting it down, and Chuck didn't understand it as he thinks the Yankees would be getting Q. Those are the only 2 that have acknowledged it so far.
  23. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:42 PM) I don't see the sox taking mccutchen back. They want prospects in return. I understand that, but they could flip Cutch too.
  24. Do the Sox take on McCutchen and then flip him if he truly is a salary dump for the Pirates? If so, what kind of package could come back with him for Q?
