  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 07:48 PM) I should have bolded it...the part about it doesn't mean we won't be in a good position in 2017... MLB ready players in these trades, or trying to cause more confusion by not fully saying that the Sox are gonna rebuild.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) This is the quote that frightens me. What frightens you about it?
  3. QUOTE (coco1997 @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 07:02 PM) These all look like pie in the sky ideas. Do you realize how valuable the Sox players are?
  4. Sale to Boston for Benintendi, Rodriguez, Swihart, Devers, and Kopech Quintana to Dodgers for Puig, Urias, Verdugo, and Bellinger Abreu and Jones to the Rangers for Mazara, Gallo, and Profar Robertson to the Giants for Beede Eaton to the Cardinals for Piscotty, Reyes, and Perez
  5. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 03:09 PM) You may not get that many hauls for that first group. 4 if not all 5 would require a lot. It makes sense that one or two are dealt and the others slowly get dealt over next year or two. I would also wait until the deadline to move Robertson so he can recoup some value. Why not? Sale and Quintana, their markets are well documented for potential suitors. Jones is comparable to Ken Giles. Adam Eaton has just come off the best year of his career and their are many good teams out there looking for a good/great cheap 1B (Red Sox, Rangers, Pirates, Astros)
  6. If we do sell, Sale, Quintana, Eaton, Jones, Abreu, and Robertson all need to go. Keep Lawrie, Frazier, and Melky and trade them at the deadline unless blown away with an offer this winter
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 02:43 PM) I tried to tell everyone Ricky pretty much said that to season ticketholders in August. Obviously he just won't sell everyone regardless of the bid. Teams are going to have to meet a price, but if they do, they are rebuilding. If done correctly with some of our huge trade chips and the FA class in 2018, we can compete in 2019.
  8. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 06:26 PM) Dave Dombrowski didn't rule out trading for a starting pitcher. But said their priorities are 8th-inning arm and DH. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/795783571130576896 Total overview is Dombrowki downplaying interest in Starting pitching . (Chris Sale? ) https://twitter.com/MLBBruceLevine/status/795783764018221056 Yeah, he's lying through his teeth. Sale and Jones would bring back a monster haul from the Red Sox.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 01:37 PM) I think if there is a team most motivated to overpay for Sale, it should be the Dodgers. Assuming Kershaw is 100% next season, he and Sale pretty much dominate the NL, and think of those 2 in the playoffs. Pretty much takes left handed hitters out of the equation. For the Cubs that is Rizzo and Schwarber. And they can restock their farm system by signing a million international guys. Sale and Jones for Urias, Ryu, Pederson, De Leon, Bellinger, Verdugo, and Puig
  10. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Nov 5, 2016 -> 10:17 PM) So when SEMO beats Illinois on Friday how upset will you guys be? Shut your mouth
  11. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 5, 2016 -> 08:24 AM) I am very curious to how the market will respond to Luis Valbuena. He's an intriguing guy. I agree, I like him as a DH
  12. What if we did something along the lines of Yelich, Realmuto + from the Marlins?
  13. QUOTE (Username @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 12:23 PM) Pure speculation, but some hope they do the rational thing: @JimBowden_ESPN on #WhiteSox off season "teams are going to line up for Sale and Quintana. I think they're going to sell all" I didn't see him tweet that, did he say that on ESPN?
  14. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 11:44 AM) And to your second point, Collins probably doesn't stay behind the plate given the Sox tendencies. I don't but I do think Sale goes. What do you think is a good package for Sale from Boston, Houston, LA, and NYY?
  15. QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 09:35 AM) Not going too elaborate but...... Sale for Benintendi/Moncada/Swihart Sign Reddick and Nova(neither cost a pick) C-Swihart 1B-Abreu 2B-Moncada 3B-Fraizer SS-Anderson LF- Reddick/Eaton CF- Benintendi/Eaton RF- Eaton/Reddick Q-Rodon-Nova-Gonzalez-Shields Petricka and Putnam coming back will help the pen. Fully expect Burdi up at somepoint too.....Also hope Fulmer pans out as a starter. That lineup looks real good on paper and realistic too.
  16. Trade: Tigers trade Cameron Maybin to the Angels for Victor Alcantara (8th best prospect in Angels terrible system)
  17. Don't know why they released him. Not a big loss, but I would think he's still decent AAA depth. He's better than a lot of guys in the bullpen in AAA
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 11:04 PM) I had accepted that the Cubs were going to win the World Series when it was 5-1. Don't disappoint me Cleveland. Same man, same.
  19. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 04:13 PM) While I would totally take both of those offers for Sale and Q, I'm confused why you even bother signing Castro and Gomez. Also, I think Castro will be much more expensive than that contract. Need to put a product on the field in the majors. Gomez on a 1 year prove it deal and trade at the deadline, possibly the same with Castro just a longer commitment.
  20. I'm all for a full rebuild and my plan will be based off that. Arbitration-eligible (with projected salaries from MLBTR): Write "tender" or "non-tender" after each of the following names. Two notes: 1) You can trade before or after tendering a contract, and 2) we’ll just assume Jose Abreu is in the fold for roughly $11 million regardless of whether he chooses the arb route. Todd Frazier, $13.5M - Tender Brett Lawrie, $5.1M - Tender Avisail Garcia, $3.5M - Non-Tender Miguel Gonzalez, $2.6M - Tender Dan Jennings, $1.2M - Tender J.B. Shuck, $1M - Non-Tender Jake Petricka, $900K - Tender Zach Putnam, $900K - Tender Daniel Webb, $600K - Tender Contract options (pick up or buy out) Matt Albers: $3M for 2017 or a $250,000 buyout - Buyout Impending free agents (re-sign, let go or qualifying offer) Austin Jackson: - Let go Alex Avila: - Let go Justin Morneau: - Let go Free Agent Signings: C Jason Castro 2 years/13 million CF Carlos Gomez 1 year/8 million RP Boone Logan 2 years/11 million SP Ivan Nova 1 year/5 million DH Luis Valubeuna 1 year/4 million SP Tommy Milone minor league deal Trades SP Chris Sale to the Red Sox for OF Andrew Benintendi, 3B Rafael Devers, SP Michael Kopech, SP Jason Groome, and C Blake Swihart SP Jose Quintana to the Dodgers for SP Julio Urias, OF Alex Verdugo, and SS Gavin Lux LF Melky Cabrera to the Giants for SP Tyler Beede CP David Robertson to the Rangers for 1B Ronald Guzman 2B Brett Lawrie to the Pirates for 2B/SS Alen Hanson Lineup: RF Adam Eaton (L) SS Tim Anderson 1B Jose Abreu DH Luis Valbuena (L) 3B Todd Frazier LF Andrew Benintendi (L) CF Carlos Gomez C Jason Castro (L) 2B Tyler Saladino Bench: C Omar Narvaez (L) OF Charlie Tilson (L) 2B Carlos Sanchez (S) ??? 21. Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 8h8 hours ago BREAKING: Mark Grudzielanek will be the Triple-A Charlotte manager. #WhiteSox
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 30, 2016 -> 10:56 AM) An impossible thought from last night... Say the Cubs do get knocked out by the Indians. If the Cubs come to the White Sox with a player package starting around Kyle Schwarber, could a deal get done? What would it take to get a deal done? Schwarber, Baez, Almora, and Jimenez
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 04:20 PM) Cocaine was big in the 80s and early 90s. It seems to be making a comeback. Non crack that is. I live in the NW suburbs. Heroin is really big out here. Within the last year, already know 3 kids a year older than me that have OD'd on Heroin.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) The Sox haven't traded their TOP prospects for years. It won't happen this year either. With the fall that Hansen had, there is zero chance he get dealt. I could see a chance at Fulmer getting dealt, but what that means is the Sox saw something in him they didn't like. But if they decide to "go for it" again, maybe they take the risk and trade them. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they did that and I would hate it.
  25. Currently 5-2 in my big money league. Just traded Matt Forte, Mike Wallace and Jacob Tamme for Alshon Jeffery, Coby Fleener, and Zach Ertz. Only 4 teams make the playoffs and I'm in 3rd. This is my current team. 2 QB league with big play bonus points and PPR QB Big Ben QB Derek Carr RB David Johnson RB Zeke Elliot WR TY Hilton WR Alshon Jeffery TE Coby Fleener FLEX Melvin Gordon DEF Broncos K Mike Nugent Bench QB Dak Prescott RB Jordan Howard WR Stefon Diggs WR Will Fuller TE Zach Ertz DEF Ravens Thoughts?
