Dave Kaplan reports Kenny Williams holding back Rick Hahn
GGajewski18 replied to Donaldo's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2016 -> 02:10 PM) If all this is true, he's an assistant GM now. I don't think all of it is true. Maybe some of it is. But he knew what he was getting into. The other thing to keep in mind, if there is something to this, it shows JR has no trust in RH. What evidence is there to show RH does have all the answers? What evidence shows that Kenny and Jerry have the answer by always going for it? 2 playoff appearances in 16 years? OK. -
Dave Kaplan reports Kenny Williams holding back Rick Hahn
GGajewski18 replied to Donaldo's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If everything is true, everyone that has doubted Hahn now knows why. He can't do anything his way. Can't rebuild, can't have the proper funds to go out and get impact players (Cespedes, Gordon, Upton, Fowler last off season). Jerry and Kenny are screwing him over big time. I'm hoping he goes to the Twins. -

If true, I seriously, genuinely hate Jerry Reinsdorf and Kenny Williams. -

2016-2017 NCAA football thread
GGajewski18 replied to southsider2k5's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Former Illinois RB Daniel Dufrene has passed away. No word on what happened. So sad. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 15, 2016 -> 09:41 AM) Wasn't he already send down this year? Yes, but he did clear waivers.

Where does Hansen start next year? Winston Salem or Birmingham?

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) At least as confident as I am in Lawrie, which admittedly, isn't supreme. Saladino can play more positions. He's a better player, imo. I'll take a year of the way Hellickson has pitched this year for a year of Lawrie. Give me Sale, Q and 3 Hellickson's and that rotation is fine. Saladino can play more positions than Lawrie, so he's the better player? Where in the world can you say that Saladino is the better player than Lawrie? Laura has been good defensively, hit with power, more experienced, and younger than Saladino. You're definitely wrong about this.

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 10:51 AM) But the original point of the comment to make this was not making this about some personal thing about Jose. Yes, we are all sympathetic about Jose's situation, and wish he could have seen his son whenever he wanted to. However, I think this is more about the circus atmosphere the White Sox have cultivated, where fans are left in a thread to wonder about whether the presence or absence of a player's child might make or break a team. No, you're just flat out wrong as SS2K and Q have stated.

QUOTE (FT35 @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 08:12 AM) Soooooo....lemme get this straight...we need LaRoche's son to be gone...but now we need Abreu's son to be here all the time!? Maybe he's the missing leader on this team now that Drake is gone!? What a circus! Do other teams go through what we go through!?!?!??!?! A little different. Abreu has seen his son twice in 3 years. LaRoche saw his son every single day. Of course he misses his son.

Why is Joey Bosa being a jag and not signing his contract with the Chargers? Dude hasn't played a snap in the NFL and is mad that he got drafted by the Chargers? Please. His mom came out and said that they wish they pulled an Eli Manning.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 01:19 PM) Any area you specifically are looking to get into? I honestly don't recommend going to get an MBA so quickly, I think getting some work experience first will help immensely for getting a job after getting an MBA as well. Love to get into an athletic department either in high school or college (preferably college). Sports Information Director or Athletic Director is the dream job.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 28, 2016 -> 07:18 AM) Good luck. I tried that out of college because I couldn't find anything and I hated it. Just not a sales guy A week on the job and I already want to gauge my eyes out. I cannot sit for 8 hours a day making phone calls. I have applied for grad school and to be a GA through athletic administration (sports information work). Grad school is free, and I get a paycheck every week including summer. So, I might go get my MBA and practice something that I know I will love doing.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:24 PM) According to whitesoxdave... FWIW I was told the #WhiteSox turned down a Benintendi, Kopech, Johnson/Ball, and PTBNL package for Quintana from #RedSox In the off season, Groome will be available too.

17 minutes. Amazing that out of all of this, Zach Duke is the only to go.

QUOTE (ChiSox1917 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 01:27 PM) Obviously Yankees aren't a buyer right now, but I would happy to raid their farm system and deal Sale in the offseason. Sale for Frazier, Mateo, Judge, Rutherford, and Sheffield would be a nice haul Severino, Bird, Sanchez, Judge, Frazier, and Torres.

Bob Nightengale @BNightengale 26s26 seconds ago The Chicago #Whitesox say that unless something dramatically changes, will keep Chris Sale and Jose Quintana.

Anyone else waiting for Texas to chime in? They are way too quiet today....

Anyone think that Texas has been too quiet today?

Fernando Abad to Boston for Pat Light

So, that takes LA out on Sale/Q?

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:24 AM) "We discussed several deals, we were very active, but ultimately, we were not content with the packages we would receive. In all probability, standing pat with our current roster could result in a team that puts up a competitive final two months of the season." -Rick Hahn, later today probably It's so sad that we know what's going to come out from the Sox if/when they don't do nothing today.
