7/15/16 White Sox at Angels
GGajewski18 replied to Swingandalongonetoleft's topic in 2016 Season in Review
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) What did I miss? I believe he was out the last 2 games of the Braves series because of a calf injury? -
People are arguing for Peter f***ing Bourjos. Give me a break. Rather have Shuck.

Carson Fulmer Getting Called Up?
GGajewski18 replied to YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 08:50 AM) Me neither. From everything I've read he was still really working on a lot down there, and not like the normal working on stuff but he was all over the place working on everything. But maybe he has figured things out in the last few weeks. Well, his last 8 starts have been good to really good. -
QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) Seems more likely that they get the 4 star PG out of Florida. He's high on them and Groce & Co. continue to recruit him hard. He's no slouch either. Tim Frazier is very, very good.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 10:58 PM) Standing pat is just a gutless move. Pick a direction and roll with it. We're wasting the careers of our core. This team is f***ed at the deadline because Hahn can't fill in the pieces around this core and has to trade assets each offseason just to make this team halfway competitive; this leaves us without the necessary assets to go get pieces we need at the deadline the past couple seasons. Just look how the Angels are wasting Trout. Their future looks terrible.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 02:41 PM) Blackmon's career OPS at Coors: .894 Away from Coors: .678 This year his OPS away from Coors is 808 though.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 01:59 PM) Well he's not a good enough performer that you'd unpack Fulmer for him, normally you might think about a guy in the ~5 range in a solid system I'd guess but none of those guys are tradeable for the Sox since they were all just drafted. Maybe you could put together some package of 2-3 guys that the Rockies like who are lower ranked? Thought you could trade drafted players right away or do you have to wait until the off season?
-
Maybe it's time to start the trade winds forum? Also, a package around Adams maybe would entice the Rockies? However, they do love flame throwers, but no one in our system like that other than Burdi.

288/351/808 slash line away from Coors this season
-
Would be under control for 2 more years after this. Blackmon and Eaton in the OF would cover SO MUCH ground.

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 9m9 minutes ago Sources: #WhiteSox, unsure of Austin Jackson’s prognosis, are checking into possible trades for CFer. Jackson had knee surgery on June 10. Josh Nelson @SSS_joshnelson 5m5 minutes ago Chicago, IL I wonder if Charlie Blackmon would be a possible CF target for the White Sox?

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) The only thing I can think of that he's missed on what the Burdi plan, but I also am not 100% sure that was him anyway. I believe he said August. Also, when it was draft time, he said Burdi at 26 and he'll be ecstatic, that was really the 1st time I heard Burdi linked to the Sox before.

QUOTE (gosoxgo2005 @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 11:12 AM) I don't know. I don't have twitter but go have been to his page when I have seen him being talked about on here. He doesn't seem very professional at all. Almost as if he is trying to be an insider but isn't. I've only skimmed his page, so I'll take your word for it. Well he called the Latos DFA. The Shields trade a week in advance with exact players. The Rollins DFA and Anderson call up. Pretty spot on.

Best RKO of all time

whitesoxdave @barstoolWSD 7m7 minutes ago FYI I'm hearing it's prolly gonna be Jake Turner taking Rodon's spot in the rotation while he rehabs wrist, not Carson Fulmer whitesoxdave @barstoolWSD 6m6 minutes ago Interesting because Turner is out of options and would have to be DFA when Rodon returns. Team doesn't have a lot of MiLB SP depth

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 13, 2016 -> 06:51 PM) How dare he chill and have fun on a rare four day break!! Really. Calm down guys.

I forgot who mentioned it on twitter, but a major writer said that the Dodgers are interested in trading for Puig since Ethier is on his way back. Not a LH bat, but I think he still can make an impact defensively and in the lineup. Only question now is, are you interested in him, and what would you give up to acquire him?

Rangers interested in Pomeranz
-
QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) That would be exciting. A Sale, Quintana, Shields, Rodon, Fulmer rotation has me all happy inside. The potential there is insane, just a matter of reaching it all together.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 11:21 AM) Illinois also has only 2 true frontcourt players next year, he's an absolute must for Groce at this point. I'd love if they can somehow get Tilmon and Theo John on the front court. Mix that in with Goodwin who is an absolute bulldog, they would have a solid rebounding group I believe.
-
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 10:13 AM) I'm too jaded after the past few years, I'll believe he's attending Illinois when he signs an NLOI and Groce is still coach on reporting day. That said, it is fun to think of what the class could look like with Tilmon jumping on board this early, makes Groce's job soooo much easier to sell Goodwin/Scruggs/etc to come as well. Exactly. They have 4 scholarships to work with still for the 17 class. The 2 biggest chips in this class though is Tilmon and Goodwin like you said. Groce lands them and this recruiting class could be very special.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 10:07 AM) If we can find 2015 Hansen, that is the Sox finding the #1 draft pick in the 2nd round. I'd imagine Hansen will be in Kanny soon
-
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 10:04 AM) If Groce signs a class of Williams, Pickett, Tilmon, Goodwin, Scruggs then he won't be going anywhere. That's about the best recruiting job an Illinois coach has done in a LONG time. Odds of that are slim though, and like I said I still doubt there is much merit to Tilmon committing to Illinois and especially today of all days. Have you seen all the Illinois writers though saying Tilmon to Illinois though? Werner, Piper, and Tate are all hearing great things that he will commit. Obviously be skeptical, but it's definitely positive. I think if we get Tilmon, that definitely helps with Goodwin. If we get both Tilmon and Goodwin, that helps big time with Scruggs. Others are Verge, Theo John, Tim Frazier, Terrance Lewis who I wouldn't mind either

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 09:56 AM) Hope the rumors are true. Get these guys in then get a real coach to lead them to some wins. I'm sure Hoiberg or Donovan will be available in the next 2 years....
-
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) Rumors swirling about Tilmon going to commit to Illinois, I'm finding it hard to believe though. Rumors are that we can see a commitment today. Pickett, Williams, and Tilmon is a great start to the 17 class. Definitely would give us a good shot with Goodwin and Scruggs.
