The only tweak in the lineup is that, when Timo plays LF, he should NOT be leading off. Timo is NOT a leadoff guy (I would've played Ozuna over him today anyways, but that's another story). Ozzie should move his lineup around based on the actual players in the lineup instead of having the same lineup every day based on their positions.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) WIn or KW gets Fired.. Either way we all win.. Now why on EARTH would someone rip KW??? He has done everything in his capacity (with the budget given to him) to put contenders on that field every single year since he took over after Schuey left. What happened was that all started off well, and then a couple bad eggs ruin it for the bunch. It's not KW's fault that Maggs and Frank missed over 50% of last season. It's not KW's fault that Carlos Lee actually happened to be a cancer in the clubhouse. It's not KW's fault that Jerry Maunel tinkered the team to losses. KW has done a very good job in analyzing our needs and deserves our props!

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Im sorry... but this statement is just WRONG. besides Sox, Bulls.... the rest of CSN's broadcast schedule is horrible. Sportsnite, Chicago Tribune Live.... all just brutal... they need better personalities on those shows. ESPN isn't better, as they talk about 2 teams for 99% of their broadcasts...

I used to be the mod at the "test" and "pictures" board...but they took that away from me a long time ago when they heard from Gashie that I'd do away with the Hot Chick thread... :headshake

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) How's the weather looking on the Southside? So far, it's rather nice out, sunny and my outside thermometer next to the kitchen window says it's nearly 70 degrees out. And this is just a mile from the ballpark. They DO say that we might get some sprinkles later on this afternoon; hopefully that does not effect our game though. -
If you're in a bind and can't figure things out before 2:05, you can always go to a bar and watch it there. 100 times out of 100 they'd be showing the game at any Chicagoland bar.

Comcast's been flying high here in Bridgeport (Chicago city area 4, Comcast channel 37), so it probably's your specific comcast channel. The only minor "glitch" with Comcast so far that I've noticed is that the sound went off for the first 10 minutes of the final game at the Jake. Aside from that, there have been zero problems. I'd try calling your provider to see what's up...

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) Is the game sold out today?? I just went on Ticketmaster I could not get seats. No. They stop selling tickets online three hours before the game. If you want tickets from that point on, you must purchase them from the box office at the ballpark. -

QUOTE(Be Good @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 01:13 AM) Well people at the Cell today didn't get their money's worth, lol. Just kidding a win is a win. I did, thanks to it being Teacher Day. $7.50 for that ticket in section 148. Not complaining!

QUOTE(traydragen @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) I was watching ESPNEWS afterwards and they said it was the fastest game of this century (basically since stats were made for TOG). You must remember that this century dates only back to the year 2000, so there's a lot of time before that where TOG was counted.

I'll be there once again, this time in Section 107, Row 20. My fearless prediction for the game: Garcia starts trying to "duel" with Buehrle and pitches a gem of his own, allowing 2 runs, 4 hits, walking 3, over 7.2 innings. -
QUOTE(Kogs35 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) if we end up 6 just make sure we have a better record than boston Boston is going to have home court advantage in the first round REGARDLESS of the 6-seed's record, because they're a divisional winner. The whole playoff seeding is outta whack, I know; but, that's just the way it is. 109-93 Chicago with just 3 1/2 minutes left to play...The Bulls just locked Atlanta up!!!

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) I must say in the small sample size-Willie has been good with the stick. He' stopped slap hitting like Luis Castillo and has been more rip it and grip it. The result is pulling a lot of balls that could be danbgerous down the line. I'd like to see him maybe get a little mor PT, especially with Pods out I don't know if this would be "tinkering" with the outfield too much, but I've been thinking of this for the past few hours now. Start Willie in CF (he has played there before), and move Rowand to LF, for a game or two, allowing Iguchi to stay on the field.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) Ya but willie would have to get on base first, before you could do a hit and run. which Willie HAS been doing lately when called upon. I'd like Ozuna to be our everyday starter until Pods is 100% ready to play. Timo is best in pinch-hitting situations--a great bat to have off the bench. But, I don't think Timo should be starting very often. No more than a few "spot" starts for him. I'd personally like to see Iggy as much as possible; however, I am not going to cower if I see Willie out there. Willie could play CF in a pinch as well.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) HAWK that is all. C'mon, no love for DJ??? Anyways, I've gotta go with my fellow ISU alumnus, Neal Cotts. I've had a crush on him for five years now... -
QUOTE(Nokona @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) I was in row 149 section 5 and noticed some Cubs colors at the park too. The guy a row over from me had a Prior jersey, and his kid wore a Wrigley Field hat and a Yankees Jersey. Then the poor dad in front of us was the only White Sox fan in the family. After Paulie's first HR his 8 year old son stood up and yelled "Sox Stink!" and he turned around and said "You are not my son. You are on your own." Had the surrounding people laughing histerically. Funny thing was, the kid was decked out in Cubs gear. I don't know how the dad can survive. We treated him well though. I sat in Section 148, Row 29, and there was this guy who kept walking up and down the stairs right by me wearing a Yankees hat, a Cubs jersey, and a Devil Rays jacket...VERY strange!!!

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) I really think free agents would hesitate to go somewhere if the perception is that you will leave on bad terms. If that were the case, then why would AJ sign with us??? And how could we have attracted a stud bullpen pitcher in Hermanson??? And exactly why would Iguchi even think of leaving Japan to come here??? Not EVERYONE leaves on bad terms here. And those who do do so for a reason. Ozzie and co. don't bash EVERYONE who leaves the organization.

SNR's now 2-0, might I add!

Sox vs. M's -- 4/16/05
BridgeportHeather replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in 2005 Season in Review
What an awesome game to go to...I've got both Konerko and Ichiro on my fantasy league, and Buehrle punched Seattle's lights out. Buehrle's a man with a mission, and that mission might just lead us to the "Promised Land," as well as land him a bid for Cy Young. What an all-out DOMINATING performance from that game... -
Would you rather pitch to Olivo or Sandy Alomar? I'd choose the later, due to his experience and character. But, Ozzie sure should keep his mouth shut at times. Saying stuff like that does nothing but harm...
-
Got back about 10 minutes from the game, and might I say that my last period class is longer than the time it took for this game to be completed!!! Buehrle threw a gem today. I think he's going to have an unreal rhythm all season long. He had control of the entire game, except for Ichiro, but he's great in shaking off minor "glitches," and shutting the rest down. Buehrle's gonna be a candidate for the Cy Young within the next couple of years...MARK it!
