QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) Any word on Tyson's eye?? I watched Sports Nite tonight on Comcast Sports Net, and they said that his cornea got scratched. Things like this could take a couple of days to fully heal, so he might not be able to play tomorrow (he can't even have light hit that eye at this moment). Hopefully it recovers more quickly.

And that's a White Sox winner!!!

It was great to see Konerko solve Lohse. Unfortunately, Murphy's Law's being draped all over Joe Crede. I really do feel for the poor soul. At times, Duque flat-out dominated this game. He's a big-game kind of pitcher, due to his experience with the Yankees, and can realy help the rest of this pitching rotation with said experience. Me likey! Wins are yummie!!! -
Garland may not be able to go tomorrow.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) Speaking of possible pitching match ups, has anyone heard if we'll face Sabathia in Cleveland? We will not be facing Sabathia in our series at the Jake. He just made his first start for their minor league team in Akron and isn't scheduled to start until the 17th against the Twins, where I hope he kills Minnesota to win me great fantasy points. -
A valid reason for disliking the cubs...

QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) Hey Heather, have they put you on the board of directors of the Bridgeport Chamber Of Commerce yet??? All you do is PIMP PIMP PIMP that neighborhood of yours!!!! Hahaha, not quite, Critic...I'm just absolutely LOVING it here. -
After hearing the song on the radio several times, I finally downloaded it, and it has become my favorite song overall. "Collide" done by Howie Day The dawn is breaking A light shining through You're barely waking And I'm tangled up in you Yeah I'm open, you're closed Where I follow, you'll go I worry I won't see your face Light up again Even the best fall down sometimes Even the wrong words seem to rhyme Out of the doubt that fills my mind I somehow find You and I collide I'm quiet you know You make a frist impression I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind Even the best fall down sometimes Even the stars refuse to shine Out of the back you fall in time I somehow find You and I collide Even the best fall down sometimes Even the wrong words seem to ryhme Out of the doubt that fills your mind You finally find You and I collide You finally find You and I collide You finally find You and I collide

QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) Dude I know how you feel. I live on Addison St. Inside the City, About a mile from Wrigley. These loser cub fans are always waiting for the bus in big bunches , right by my house. I may need to get away from this s***. But, if they are losing again this season I could have lots of fun. Come move by us here in Bridgeport...You WON'T regret it! -
The test results are in, and apparently, it's not strept throat, but instead, a bacterial infection. The doctor gave me Augmentin and decongestant pills to take for the next 10 days. I should be better in time for work Monday morning.

What is wrong with Joe Crede?
BridgeportHeather replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) Stranger things have happened than Joe Crede having a good year... Look at the first 5 years of Beltre's career in the majors, what about them said 48 hrs and 121 rbi? Nothing. http://www.baseball-reference.com/b/beltrad01.shtml Since when has Crede ever hit (or even danced with) .290 in his career thus far? -

QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) We've only played 3 games. He's batting for a higher average than Rowand. You can't tell much yet. The thing is, Rowand's actually produced for this team...Crede really hasn't! -
Another great Hawk quote about Mariotti

I wouldn't be surprised if Moronotti fires back with a complete article intended to diss Hawk. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 11:39 AM) Bold prediction: Crede will be benched at some point during the season for Pablo Ozuna. Crede will be playing for a different team next season. At this rate, I don't see him even playing for a differen team next season. He has yet to have a season that has remotely impressed me... -
It looks like Crede will fight the Mendoza Line this season long, and I don't know what's inside him right now. He seems super tense at the plate and can't shake it to become more relaxed. That's not good when you're trying to make contact. They say he worked extra hours in the batting cages in spring training, but that is far from apparent, and, sadly, I don't see him improving anytime soon.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) To be honest I saw so many positives out of yesterdays loss that I can't be too irked. The club is 2-1 and the offense looked solid. I really think this club is going to have a better offense then most say and a superior bullpen to pretty much anyone in baseball (say for a few games here and there, but thats part of baseball). Agreed...But to a degree. Those positives will only stay positives if the team can learn to not make these mistakes early. I think this happened at the best time of the season, instead of in the middle of a pennant race down the home stretch. If the Sox can keep this past game in the back of their memories, they can maybe score another run or two in the later innnigs (as they should've done in the 8th) so that, even if Shingo loses control, they'll have enough runs to offset it.

I voted for KC.

QUOTE(trexer @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) The simple fact is that the South Side is not a good place to have a baseball team Do you realize that Bridgeport is the most up-and-comming neighborhood in the entire city right now? There are a plethora of developments that will be coming about in the next few years. Here in Bridgeport, it will be THE cool place to come very soon (as if it isn't already, according to myself, at least). It's easy access to downtown will make the development boom the commerce in this area (I can drive to the downtown area in under 5 minutes, or be a couple of orange line stops from downtown from where I live--and the reverse commute is just as easy).
-
It's time for the Sox to go out and make a statement this weekend, and it starts tomorrow, as Duque MUST have an A-game, and our offense MUST touch Lohse up early (and often), so that we can tire their bullpen in Game 1. Heather's Fearless Prediction: El Duque K's Torii Hunter in their first pitcher/batter matchup.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Now's as good of time as any to release the pairings for Soxtalk's greatest Admin/SuperMod. The winner of the matchup between LCR and Capn12 will face Spiff as the twelve seed. I seeded myself lowest of the admins to prevent favortism and all admins were aherad of global mods, with the original big 4 seeded highest. Got some good matchups, people. SS2k5 should be seeded higher than Jas, actually.

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 07:15 AM) I just got over both Strep and Bronchitis. No fun whatsoever. Funny thing, I had Bronchitis about 3 months ago. I haven't had two "bugs" hit me like this in many years. I think that this could be stemmed due to my change in environment from suburban life to having lived in the city now for several months (almost downtown, actually).

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Crede still sucks. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that he appears very tight (at least from my vantage point). He might've worked extra long hours in the batting cages this spring training; however, unless he can completely relax and not tense up like he appears to do, there will be no change in Crede's offensive production.
-
Well, I will be going to 3 games this month, and around 20 overall this season. I have no reason not to, since I'm making very good money now in my career and am a 10 minute WALK to the ballpark (or an easy 2-minute drive and park a block from the ballpark on the street). We're getting a Bogan Block together several times this year. You all should try getting blocks together of co-workers if possible...that could be fun and bring the 'casual' co-workers back for more if they enjoyed themselves!

There is also a ton of information on Whitesoxinteractive...When you're done with your paper, would you care to post the information here?

It doesn't matter HOW the Sox win, but just that they GET those wins. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to know this. This whole article perplexes me, tho I have tried to stop letting Moronotti get to me.

Last night, I reached for the flashlight to check out my throat, because it was hurting like hell. To my dismay, I saw tons of white spots on my tonsils and in the back of my throat. I went to work today; however, I gave folders of work for my students for Thursday and Friday to the payroll clerk and have a doctor's appointment Friday. It HAS to be strept throat...And it's painful! It even hurts to swallow water! And that Chlorosceptic Sore Throat Gargle stuff burns it like an iron! The only plus is that I now get to watch the Sox game tomorrow on CSN in my front room. Enough about that story...It seems like lots of people at Bogan are under the weather currently...Has the ailing bug hit you recently?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) Didn't it used to be called a Blackhawk mobile??? So my question is, has your car went on strike? Nahhh...It never had a Blackhawks plate frame...It's always been WSOXNO 1 since I got it personalized almost immediately after purchasing the car.
