  1. Don't forget Rondon, Gomez, and roster lock IMO Hector Santiago... Not sure if the bullpen can be a strength but if it is, this team won't have any glaring weaknesses plus an ongoing influx of callups (Kopech, Jimenez, Cordell, Viera) I truly think this teams lineup will be pretty good and expect Giolito, Lopez, and Fulmer to pick up right where they left off, while Migo holds solid I might sound crazy but 78, 80, 82 wins doesn't sound too far fetched
  2. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 02:53 PM) I know it’s not time for our prediction thread but... I have both Yoan and Tim going for 20/20 this year. That's fair I think 15/15 is more reasonable for both
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 09:25 AM) http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2760549...r-entering-2018 Carson Fulmer, Carlos Rodon, Tim Anderson All first rounders that have yet to reach potential but I don't think anyone is overhyping them let alone hyping them
  4. Leury makes sense in CF, Yolmer at 3B, but Davidson at DH
  5. On the bright side, this thins out my list of potential breakouts because I really had too much
  6. Such a f***in shame, what a talent ETA probably goes up to 2021
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 12:25 PM) Baseball America‏Verified account @BaseballAmerica The White Sox believe a change of scenery could help Casey Gillaspie unlock his power potential. https://t.co/c4LkQGAuQr Rob Young‏ @RobertHYoung 3h3 hours ago Rob Young Retweeted Baseball America Interesting tidbit that Gillaspie has been getting himself into better shape to potentially play an outfielder corner position. Played the OF in HS and a little in college #WhiteSox Won't be playing 1B full time in ChiTown so may as well add value to his game
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 01:52 PM) Bernie Pleskoff‏Verified account @BerniePleskoff 21h21 hours ago Jake Burger-6-2, 210 pounds with a huge upper body and massive trunk. Very strong. Great reviews on his power bat and superb defense at 3B. 2017 1st round pick out of Missouri State. Expecting a monster '18, him and Delmonico worked their asses off
  9. QUOTE (frogsplash31 @ Feb 25, 2018 -> 02:08 AM) Still.would like to see the Sox take Madrigal. I don't see Burger being the answer at third, so maybe the Sox should think about moving Moncada to 3rd. There's no reason to move a premier 2B across the diamond because there is a need there on a rebuilding team While I think Burger will stick at 3B more and more, I respect your opinion he'll wind up at 1B Also, what's not to like about Burger? Dude has been raking and is in for a big '18...Could be on the SouthSide by '20
  10. QUOTE (zisk @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 03:04 PM) Carson Fulmer's leash just got a little longer. Hoping he can prove himself as a starter in '18, finished '17 real strong
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 03:29 PM) Sounds like Tommy John surgery is likely, but if it doesn't look terrible on the MRI they might try to rehab it before putting him on the operating table. Jesus this sucks...was expecting a big '18
  12. Very interesting Less talented than Machado but seems more realistic Even if Mous signs here, I'd go after Manny
  13. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Feb 19, 2018 -> 07:31 PM) Braves are DFA'ing Mauricio Cabrera. Guy used to hit 101 mph. Sox need another flamethrower, right, right?!? Can't hurt
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 19, 2018 -> 07:16 PM) I agree completely with OP, although I think Saladino could be a surprise DFA and Smith may get traded for scraps before the season starts Can definitely see that
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 19, 2018 -> 07:03 PM) Agree with the lineup and rotation components. Bench- Engel, Saladino, Narvaez Bullpen sure to be wrong: Avilan, Cedeno, Santiago on the left Farquhar, Minaya, Infante, Jones, Soria on the right So many names up for 'pen roles I want to flip hahaha
  16. C: Castillo, Narvaez 1B: Abreu 2B: Moncada 3B: Sanchez, Davidson SS: Anderson, Saladino OF: Leury, Delmonico, Avi, Engel, Cordell SP: Shields, Gonzalez, Giolito, Lopez, Fulmer BP: Soria, Jones, Gomez, Avilan, Viera, Bummer, Santiago DL: Rodon Lineup: SS Anderson, 2B Moncada, RF Avi, 1B Abreu, LF Delmonico, DH Davidson, 3B Sanchez, C Castillo, CF Leury Thoughts? Opinions? Hopefully able to shop Shields, MiGo, Soria, and Gomez by Deadline Kevan Smith maybe flipped in camp
  17. QUOTE (Dunt @ Feb 19, 2018 -> 10:51 AM) It is just BP, but he looks like he is absolutely murdering the ball already Him and Delmonico worked their asses off all "offseason", love this attitude these Sox have...Most early appearances in ST ever this year with 66 or something like that Starts with culture and this culture is headed in the right direction
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 19, 2018 -> 10:38 AM) No it isn't. They should still be listening on guys like Abreu, Garcia, Jones, any minor league signing pitching well, and Castillo. People that want to move Abreu absolutely amaze me I'd like Garcia to stay if he proves himself this year, but understand shopping him while his value is high
  19. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 14, 2018 -> 03:44 AM) Jones really is our final big trading chip. The injury history will scare people, but he is REALLY f***ING GOOD. Considering his contract, I really do think he could bring back a top 100 guy + others. Or maybe something like Jones to the Nationals for LHP Seth Romero (#5 prospect) and SS/3B Yasel Antuna (#8 prospect). Don't the Sox have enough on the farm? Obviously have to maintain it (Draft, shopping fliers like Soaria, Bruce Rondon, etc.) but the fire sale is over
  20. Definetely think Cease, Robert, Dunning, and Hansen will continue to ascend greatly
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 12, 2018 -> 07:38 PM) I really think Curbelo opens the season with Kannapolis. Seconded
  22. QUOTE (Dunt @ Feb 12, 2018 -> 04:28 PM) Interested to hear why you believe Cordell starts over Delmonico. If anything, I'd have Cordell starting in CF. Both utility guys but I expect Nicky D to start in LF and Cordell to play all over when possible
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 12, 2018 -> 03:16 PM) It's not impossible they decide Zangari isn't quite ready yet and have Anthony Villa start there, at least for now. Villa isn't really a prospect but he will be 24 for this season and destroyed PIO pitching. I don't think Franklin Reyes is ready and he's still a teenager. Zangari should definitely be in KAN, although I have Robert in A+ with Villa as a DH in KAN
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 12, 2018 -> 02:30 PM) wow! I couldn't even begin to think about something this big. The one that surprised me was you putting Zangari at 1b in Kanny. I think looking at something like this is why it's probably hard for sox fans to hear we aren't that deep. Compared to 2 years ago, super deep, but probably just have way more 40 FV guys than before and less 45's than others. Agreed, awesome post
  25. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2018 -> 03:04 PM) Said it before, I have a sinking feeling that Blake Rutherford is actually Ryan Sweeney. Who didn't have a terrible career or anything, but the power never developed and he wasn't a true CF so he was just kind of a lower tier starter a couple or three years, then a 4OF for a few more. Hopefully Rutherford has a big '18...If not I've lost all hope that he even makes the ML
