  1. https://nypost.com/2017/11/16/yankees-in-su...rated-prospect/ Would love too him in Sox gear They want pitching
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2017 -> 03:37 PM) Haven't seen a list that shows who is in and/or out, but this is who the Braves signed July 2, 2016. There are also some other very interesting players in this bunch. at least half a dozen area already playing in the US a year later. https://www.talkingchop.com/2016/7/2/120879...july-2-signings Definitely hope Hahn gets involved but simply doubt it, doesn't seem like a Sox move
  3. What other ATL prospects will be available? Doubt CWS gets involved
  4. Really don't want to trade Avi and think he can be a valuable piece to a contending Sox team for a long time BUT if offered a package of Luzardo, Lazarito, and Shore/Holmes/Murphy/Neuse must be listened to (Not happening) Side Note: How is Billy Beane employed? Yes OAK has a minuscule payroll and dying fan base, but getting deep into a rebuild only to start over time after time gets old...that '13 team was awesome 1 step forward and 2 steps back over and over and over
  5. I'd be interested in RHP Ivan Pineyro, C Willians Astudillo, OF Oswaldo Arcia, OF Kelly Dugan, C Tim Roberson, LHP Will Lamb, OF Rosell Herrera, OF Tyler Collins, OF Steven Moya, RHP Christian Binford, C Kellin Deglan, OF Brock Stassi, RHP Luis Heredia, RHP Dylan Unsworth Ton of available talent
  6. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 6, 2017 -> 02:11 PM) It's just not yet time to trade prospects for one-year veterans. Still 2-3 years away from that...keep piling up prospects
  7. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 6, 2017 -> 01:41 PM) I'm honestly fine going with Smith and Narvaez again next year. I don't really see the Dodgers just giving Grandal away anyway. As am I, Smith sounds like he's putting in work this offseason and Narvaez is decent Literally 0 interest in moving prospects for a rental in a MAYBE .500 season
  8. QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 6, 2017 -> 12:57 PM) I, for one, have not yet given up on Fulmer. Dudes a kid still. Nor have I, finished strong in '17 and should 100% be in the '18 rotation If he doesn't pan out as a starter, he can be dominant late innings guy
  9. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 5, 2017 -> 01:39 PM) White Sox Trade: James Shields and Kevan Smith for Adrian Gonzalez, Yasmany Grandal, Brock Stewart, and $5-8M in cash (sox take on about $10mil in salary) White Sox trade: Carson Fulmer for Maikel Franco (Despite his 20 or so solid innings at the end of the year I'm not a Fulmer beliver) White Sox sign: Jeremy Hellickson 1 year $8M with a team option, Steve Cishek 2 years $14M, Kevin Siegrest 1 year $3M, David Hernandez 1 year $5M, Jarrod Dyson 2 years $12M LF- Dyson 2B-Moncada DH- Abreu 1B- Gonzalez 3B- Franco RF- Avi C- Grandal SS- Anderson CF- Leury Bench- Yolmer, Davidson, Delmonico, Navarez Giolito Lopez Stewart Hellickson ?(someone to eat innings until we have a call up or 2 ready) Bullpen- Petricka, Putnam, Siegrest Hernandez, Cishek....or something like that. The bullpen is probably going to be a mess regardless. The rebuild is still fully on, but we'd be potentially putting a fun offense out there with some young pitchers. And both Gonzalez and Grandal are free agents after 2018 so there's no added $ to the payroll for when we could potentially be set up to make a big splash in free agency after 2018. Not sure why Grandal gets so much love on here and Fulmer doesn't
  10. I actually really like this pickup, I used to watch Palka and Georgia Tech team play and he always stood out (along with Brandon Thomas, Zane Evans, Jake Davies, Buck Farmer) Seems to just be a flier, I wouldn't look much into it regarding the safety of Hayes, etc. Hopefully he returns to form in AAA this year and pans out I love the Sox taking fliers on guys like Gillaspie, Delmonico, Palka, etc.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 2, 2017 -> 09:14 PM) With as young as our team is...it might not hurt to have a veteran somewhere. Abreu, Machado, and Garcia are all vets at that point, I feel like outside vets brought in haven't been working out for some recent WS teams: KC- Gomes CHC- Heyward, Montero HOU- Maybin, Beltran
  12. QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 2, 2017 -> 02:20 AM) Ding ding ding. If we've gotta replace Machado for Donaldson, then so be it... but you and I are of the same mind. Then hopefully by 2020 we'll have Robert, Burger, and more coming up in the second wave. Really, really, really hope JR goes all out and gets his guy in Machado and doesn't settle for Donaldson, Donaldson is already aging and would suck at the end of his long term deal Really hope JR goes 10/$300-ish for Machado, likely a little less Another note: all my targets are non-Boras guys What a haul Machado, Kimbrel, Allen would be next winter
  13. QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 01:30 PM) Any names jump out to you as good fits? Mike Minor could be an interesting target if he's really healthy, he was fantastic this year. In '19 Kimbrel, Miller, Allen, Herrera are all FAs I agree on spending big on bullpen considering the Sox are very sound or set elsewhere, so grab a franchise guy like Machado and some big name relievers Firm believer the only way to win now is to follow the path of the Cubs, Astros, Yankees, etc.
  14. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 31, 2017 -> 06:55 PM) You're right, but I think Dunning could be a good starting piece. I think a veteran presence and one with better defensive numbers can be better. Narvaez hits and has a good eye, but he doesn't hit for any power and we know everyone complains about his framing. What would you do? Continue to develop the prospects that make up the top farm system in baseball and maybe bring in a flier starter like Bucholz or Pineda for cheap and hope to flip them by August Other than that, call up prospects when ready, develop, and get ready to spend BIG next fall on names like Machado, Kimbrel/Miller, Cody Allen/Kelvin Herrera, and little less on a guy like Carter Capps '19 Rotation: Kopech, Rodon, Giolito, Lopez, Hansen '19 Lineup: SS Anderson, 2B Moncada, 3B Machado, 1B Abreu, LF Jimenez, RF Garcia, DH Delmonico, C Collins, CF Leury '19 Pen: Kimbrel/Miller, Allen/Herrera, Capps, Burdi, Guerrero, Fulmer, Adams (Any starter prospects that don't work out) '19 Bench: C Narvaez, 1B/3B Davidson, INF Sanchez, U Cordell
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 15, 2017 -> 07:44 PM) Same. Loved his arm in the minors. Sad to hear about this. Actually saw him get lit up in '12 with KAN, dude threw absolute heat however and the following year he dominated and made the Sox by September and actually saw the Sox the series he was called up in NY ironically This kills me, what a tradgedy I too believe he was coming back to the MLB this Spring as I know he's been rehabbing for a few months already at his old HS Not sure why CWS ever let him go, young reliever with upside and even closer potential, wouldn't his rehab go smoother if he had a team to rehab under? Always thought that was odd
  16. QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 16, 2017 -> 11:35 AM) A couple bullpen names I would like to see the Sox in on: Steve Cishek Brandon Morrow Juan Nicasio Bryan Shaw Jake McGee Flipping these guys for assets next year would be ideal
  17. I remember seeing him throw heat in A ball, what a shame
  18. Doubt Franco is moved, think he'll rebound next year CWS should have a quiet offseason, maybe pick up a veteran starter flier type and a reliever or two for cheap, that's all 2018 offseason should be major
  19. Awesome to hear about Collins, seems like he should climb the prospect ranks Should start '18 in BIR and maybe see CHA in the summer if he rakes/develops as a C Should definitely be in Chicago by mid '19 latest
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 4, 2017 -> 12:10 PM) Read through the end for tidbits here too: "White Sox righthander Hunter Kiel—an 18th-rounder of out of Louisiana State—showed a mid-90s fastball and a hard, mid-80s slider in his inning. Read more at http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/coll...Aop465.99" A hunter kiel tidbit that doesn't say he walked 10 batters and gave up 20 runs! ANd rather than triple digit, saying he's throwing mid-90s with a mid-80s slider. Are the sox beginning to get this kid closer to a pitcher? Could be an interesting bullpen prospect if so. Loved him coming outta LSU, definitely think he can be a prospect
  21. Absolutely love the increased coverage of instructs, awesome for MiLB junkies
  22. I have minimal interest Stanton SHOULD fetch a megapackage but has an awful deal so we'll see I'd rather pay Machado $256M over 8 years than trade away all of our riches for Stanton
  23. Love how as soon as Hahn says he wants a Top 3 pick his team puts up their first winning month of the season Frankly, I don't give a f***, I'd rather see a competitive club that shows promise for '18 Pick 4/5 has been clinched Beer would like real nice there
  24. QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 30, 2017 -> 02:54 AM) It's so nice to see Hawkins not starting! Have to imagine 2018 is his final shot to get it going, same for Barnum, boy did our '12 class SUCK: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/team/draft...s&year=2012 I proudly wanted Stroman or Giolito where Hawkins went pre-draft but also Seager, Wacha, Naquin, and Brinson went after Hawkins Barnum's round just completely sucked league wide Beck, Demichele, Hansen, Johnson, Coats... Yuck Jordan Guerrero may remain the only legitimate contribution
