QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 12:53 PM) You guys are sleeping on Dunning Definitely think he can be a TOR guy, just not getting to the SouthSide as fast as Giolito, Kopech, Lopez, or Hansen...Cease, Dunning, Adams, Guerrero, Stephens, Clarkin may all very well be starters in The Show

QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) agreed, post graduations I think our top 5 will be Jimenez, Kopech, Hansen, Robert, Cease Crazy how ATL has had a top 5 system for what seems like half a decade, CWS system is sure to regress with all those graduating within the next year (Moncada, Jimenez, Kopech, Giolito, Hansen, Fulmer, Gillaspie, Adams, Cordell, Stephens, Tilson, Guerrero, Bummer). CWS need to hit on the upcoming Draft and have to hope a few guys breakout while the others develop I predict CWS opens up 2018 with their top 10 as Jimenez (AA), Kopech (AAA), Robert (A), Rutherford (A), Cease (A+), Hansen (AAA), Collins (AA), Dunning (AA), Fulmer (AAA), and Burger (A+) with Moncada and Giolito graduating CWS likely opens up 2019 with their top 5 as Robert (AA/AAA), CWS 2018 first rounder, Rutherford (AA), Cease (AAA), and CWS 2018 second rounder/Burger (AA) Hopefully, CWS puts together a winning season in 2019 for the first time in ages and makes playoffs in 2020 when the perennial powerhouse begins

QUOTE (zisk @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 04:52 PM) If those 5 guys are the starting 5 in 2019 and just come close to their potential, the Sox could be gettin' jiggy with it sooner than expected. I expect Giolito and Lopez to be starters to open 2018, Hansen likely a late season call up, and Kopech should be a mid-season call up. Opening 2019 with those 5 would be ideal and not far fetched.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 12:50 PM) By then Rodon and Lopez will be seasoned starters. Hopefully they will be as good as Sale/Q. Then Kopech, Giolito and Hansen (couldn't it be Cease by then instead of Hansen) will be so much better than Shields, Gonzalez and Holland and the Sox should be set IF they get a good bullpen. A bad bullpen nowadays coupled with bad defense means a noncontending team. Kopech should be an elite ace. Rodon is likely a #1 on a lesser team. Hansen has ace potential in my opinion and Lopez/Giolito can both be quality starters The bullpen should eventually feature Burdi, Fulmer, Cease, Adams, Guerrero, Danish etc.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 20, 2017 -> 11:41 AM) Jameson Fisher has been awesome as of late. In his last 10 games, he'll slashing .333/.429/.667/1.095 with a 12% BB rate and a 17% K rate. This is great news given the upcoming OF glut in A ball next year and his age (turns 24 in December), as Fisher pretty much will need to be pushed to AA. Anyone hear how's developing the field? Good to hear, hopefully builds off this, maybe AFL?

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 05:31 PM) Nice, look forwrd to hearing how it goes. Micker's double would have been gone if not for an elevated part of the wall Remillard had an unbelievable series with a few nice defensive plays as well at2B

QUOTE (Lillian @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 07:23 PM) Do you know what Rutherford's status is? Not in the lineup again, and not listed with the players on the bench. Got put on the retroactive DL before today's game, I assume a minor injury A local Yankees fan told him how much of a moron Cashman is for dealing him and he laughed
-
I'll be at today's KAN game
-
Awesome post, not always easy to follow these guys
-
Anxious to see him after a full offseason healthy, has ace potential still, seems like his floor is a #2 if he can stay healthy Kopech-Rodon-Giolito-Lopez-Hansen 2019
-
MiGo for RHP Dylan Unswroth, who says no: CWS or SEA? I think MiGo's inning eating is more valuable than "cash considerations"
-
I was at Cease's start last night, all his hits given up were soft flares, bad luck

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 14, 2017 -> 08:10 AM) Top 5, no question. Can even argue top 3 once Moncada graduates after Eloy and Kopech. (I'd personally put him ahead of Robert, but they're close) He'll likely eventually be #1 in all of baseball but hey at least Lucas Giolito credits his slightly improved consistency to James Shields
-
Definitely see 2018 being only slightly more competitive than 2017 with an improved Anderson and Moncada with Abreu, Avi, and Davidson returning along with a healthy more experienced Rodon, and maybe even a late season Jimenez/Kopech call-up, but obviously still far from being a serious contender. 2019 I see as more of a .500 season while all the prospects and call-ups adjust to the big leagues. 2020 I see as the start of perennial dominance with the last string of prospects (Burger, Sheets, Rutherford, Adolfo) reaching their ETAs.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 11:59 AM) Pitching, you got: 1. Rodon 2. Shields 3. Lopez 4. Danish 5. Veteran signing Release one of Shields, cheap veteran signing or both when Giolito and/or Fulmer is ready. Or they can replace Danish. I don't think Danish or Fulmer are starters anymore...future rotation guys are Kopech, Giolito, Lopez, Hansen, Dunning, maybe Clarkin

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2017 -> 11:05 AM) Hire Vizquel away from the Tigers for Anderson...Ron Washington, another, he worked really hard with Semien. Wouldn't mind Washington as MNGR when the team can compete

Have a feeling MiGo and Melky will be packaged on Monday, Clippard/Holland present no value Not sure who would be interested...KC? BOS? CHC? COL? MIL? NYY? STL?
-
Clippard to Houston for PTBNL or cash

Please tell Rick and KW to explore all options trading him immediately, if there's no interest (as there shouldn't be), DFA this joke immediately -
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 11:28 AM) Ideally for me, it's: Delmonico-Engel-W. Garcia with someone overpaying for Avi I, for one, will be rooting against your cause...Luckily, I doubt Avi is dealt and rather extended in 2018 at some point
-
QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 11:30 PM) Delmonico played left tonight. Just sayin'. Good, he should be up already, August OF of Delmonico-Engel-Avi L-R
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 11:49 PM) Keep Melky and take the comp pick. Wish this was a legitimate option
-
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) Melky will finish the season a 1 WAR player, if he gets hot. Just get him off the team so others can play. Or simply bench him after July, if there are no takers at the freebie bin. And just as I was beginning to value WAR...I never will
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 11:31 PM) This guy out for the season? Can't find anything on him. Believe he had Tommy John, maybe he'll be ready for Instructs but should be with Kanny to start 2018
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 10:29 AM) If he is actually a .280/20/15sb guy it won't matter if he's our WS roster guy, he may be the reason we some other roster series pieces. Obviously rooting for the kid but I don't see him putting it together, still far from the show and has very little to get excited about, not sure why he's ranked so high With that said, Moniak, the first pick of '16 and a HS OFer has even less inspiring numbers in the same league, Rutherford is older however by a year Still wish JR ate some money on D-Rob and took a package with Mateo or Andujar or even busted knee Fowler, we'll see though, really rooting for Rutherford Still a fan of Clarkin (who I think is a legitimate back end rotation guy) and Polo (who I think can be a valuable backup OF)
-
The closest comp to him I see on this thread is probably younger Markakis...I think Sizemore is too fast for Rutherford and Abreu/Heyward have too much pop I'm not too big on Rutherford but I suppose his ceiling is a 15-20 homer/.280 guy with 10-15 steals, RF of course...I just don't see him on our future Series roster, Clarkin on the other hand I could see as a backend of the rotation guy or 'pen piece at worst and Polo has a ceiling of a backup OFer, both closer to the Show
