QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 12:34 PM) I would at least like to see some of these guys we drafted this year get moved to Kanny I'll be watching Kanny for a 4 game series later this month, hope I get to see some picks, maybe Fulmer
-
Aside from dumping Danks regardless of record and dumping Soto if we're complete s***, the only move I'd consider is sending Shark to NYY for C Gary Sanchez and 3B Eric Jagielo, maybe a low level P too, if we don't get Sanchez AND Jagielo, no deal, they both can contribute next year if we rush them, Sanchez is a franchise C while Jagielo is a solid 3B with some pop and hits for a high AVG. I'd love to see a a staring 8+DH of Sanchez, Abreu, Johnson, Jagielo, Ramirez, Melky, Eaton, Avi, and LaSuck ASAP, then a long term rotation of Sale, Rodon, Q, Johnson, and Fulmer and a pen' with Putnam, Petricka, Jennings, Duke, Jones, and Robertson

More evidence of Chicago media turning on Ventura
ChiSoxJon replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Remember Terry Francona was available when we hired a tee-ball coach hanging out in Malibu? Well what the f***? KW really wanted PK over Terry? He's a problem too, the organization is dysfunctional, not as bad, but just like the New York Jets -
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 30, 2015 -> 10:40 AM) Nobody is taking Melky Cabrera off their hands though. How exactly would Jerry decide to not pay him in a lost season? Via trade bud

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 30, 2015 -> 09:12 AM) 1. Fire Robin 2. Hire Ozzie as interim manager (who really cares about the rest of this year 3. Hire Sandy Almost Jr. in the off-season if not sooner Once you hire Ozzie, you're not letting him go, he's in it for the long run -

About f***ing time someone has said this, Ozzie left on miserable terms but he's ready for managing White Sox baseball again and I'm ready for Ozzie ball, Ozzie is a proven fiery winner with the desire to win, Robin comes off as a NyQuil addict who belongs back on his Malibu deck, Robin knows he doesn't want to be here Just a suggestion for Ozzie, Jim Thome would make an awesome hitting coach, he already worked with Trayce Thompson in the Spring and he's seem to done wonders Throw in another White Sox employee as well: Aaron Rowand Ozzie, Coop, Thome, and Crash would provide some South Side excitement...finally, and hopefully a winning culture immediately, World Series Champs 2016 -
QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jun 29, 2015 -> 02:58 PM) When I was doing the recap I wanted to include the Voyagers team batting stats since I thought they would be leading the Pioneer League...nope. Middle of the pack with a .305/.386/.424 team line. Crazy hitters league. Too bad Jerry's team plays on the South Side of Chicago and not in God Knows Where, Montana

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 29, 2015 -> 12:05 PM) So walks don't count? LaRoche has walked a ton. I'd like to see Davidson as well but saying he'd replace LaRoche's production isn't accurate. Also, Melky isn't going anywhere. Production? Not worried about anyone producing anymore this year, Hahn must love getting those high draft picks, I'm talking about his role as the Adam Dunn/Adam LaRoche of this lineup, and while I also think Melky stays he's been pathetic offensively this year and if I'm Jerry (who has no interest in this team), I'm not paying him in a lost season
-
QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Jun 30, 2015 -> 12:06 AM) I was really hoping to see some offense from Cleuluis Rondon. He's got a .461 OPS and just 17 BB to 48 SO in 245 ABs this year. That's pretty awful. Apparently he bulked up and it didn't work, whatever we still got Avi and Montas, Wendelken has some good stats as well

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 29, 2015 -> 11:04 AM) I can see cases for most of those, but I personally don't see anything with Leury. Would rather use Sanchez in any role Leury would take. But I also think you're going overboard on the comps here. Thinking Davidson "has LaRoche's bat" is very ambitious for Davidson, you're not mentioning that Micah's defense is the question with him, and Trayce's value declines if you put him on the corner. Point is I'd rather see them in the lineup, Davidson has been on a tear in CHA actually and is homerun or strike out just like LaRoche for 12 million cheaper, Leury can be a solid utility on a s*** team though, CWS qualifies as one
-
QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 29, 2015 -> 11:12 AM) i agree very much on the bold esp Micah defense. This team is 12 below .500 I could care less about inconsistent defense, he'd fit right in
-
Think this summer is the perfect time to call up Davidson, Micah Johnson, Erik Johnson, Thompson, and even Leury from CHA, can't hurt us now and it's a lot lighter on Jerry's pockets if that's what he's worried about, Davidson has LaRoche's bat, Johnson was batting .270, Erik has returned to Top 100 prospect form, and Trayce can replace Melky if LF, while Leury can replace Gillaspie or Beckham as a utility, call the youth up and see what we have

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 09:07 AM) What do the goggles have to do with it? Lots of pitchers wear contacts, but a few prefer goggles. And we didn't all know" Sale was a frontline starter for sure, in fact there was lots of doubt on that early on. You're right on Sale but the goggles thing was intended to be humorous, but in all honesty, Gagne, Blowasavio, Farnsworth, Cecil, Valverde, K-Rod all closers

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jun 22, 2015 -> 11:19 PM) Carson Fulmer's night and college career are done. He went 7.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out eight. Look for him to sign at slot or (hopefully) a bit below and immediately be our #1 or #2 prospect. No doubt about it Fulmer really is Filthy Fulmer, he does worry me prospectively though, did we really get a starter? If so is he frontline? His size, goggles, velocity, arsenal, tendency to hit the dirt, all have me thinking he's a future reliever. We all knew Sale and Rodon were frontline starters when drafted but there is so much question about Fulmer's future. I'd like to see him win the CWS, sign for slot, go to AZL/GF in mid-July, then W-S, then Charlotte like Rodon. If he develops the command, adjusts to pro-ball, and perfects his arsenal, hopefully he can remain a starter long term. He reminds me a lot of Marcus Stroman, while he's most commonly compared to former Commodore Sonny Gray, and has even been compared to Carlos Martinez, Danny Salazar, Tim Lincecum, and Roy Oswalt. Hopefully, he'll be up on a winning ChiSox team in 2016 in a rotation looking like Sale, Fulmer, Quintana, Johnson, Rodon.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 21, 2015 -> 11:06 AM) Heck, if the Sox finish bottom ten in league, don't give up any draft picks for free agents, and get a sandwich pick for Shark, that'd be 3 picks in about rhe first 50/60. But I'd rather get a more polished prospect (s) for Samardzija. At this rate they'll have a top 8 pick, and prospects in return for Shark and maybe Danks, LaRoche, and Melky, thought Fulmer would be our last shot at elite US talent but apparently not, way too early but I love Groome the lanky LHP from NJ/FL
-
I assumed he tore it, was tweeting about his comeback, not a top prospect but was a good story and could be a solid reliever at best, wish him the best

Year-by-Year legitimate prospects for us at time of selection: '12: Hawkins, Barnum, Beck, DeMichele, Brennan, Basto, Hansen, Johnson, Guerrero, Ayala, Coats '13: Anderson, Danish, May, Mitchell, Lowry, Michalczewski, Goldberg, Ball '14: Rodon, Adams, Fry, Austin, Lechich, Jarvis, Fish '15: Fulmer, Erwin, Stephens, Zangari, Hickman, Schroeder, Glines, Comito, Lassiter Sidenotes: Sike Orvis reminds me of the annual Dan Black, Danny Hayes pick Glines and Lassiter are major steals, hopefully at least like Coats Fulmer is future MLB starter Erwin and Stephens should both be MLB relievers at least Zangari has monster power, best HS bat for us in a while that late Hickman has potential to be a star reliever Michael Hickman, who likely won't sign, can be a star and our top C in the organization
-
Big fan of the draft this year all around, I'll update this post later and make it more extensive but who from this class of ours do we view as prospective? I view Fulmer, Erwin, Stephens, Zangari, Hickman, Schroeder, Glines, Conito, Flores, Lassiter, Cherry, and Hickman as most prospective, hope we get Michael Hickman signed

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 11:05 AM) Fulmer pitching for Vandy tonight too. Think he goes straight to WS after the CWS?
-
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 03:23 AM) Martinez has begun fielding offers from teams. Unfortunately, Cubs are favorites to land him

Matt Cooper has a nice stat-line so far for Kanny, David Trexler has also came along, Spencer Adams is shaping up, but seriously, where the hell is Juan Silverio? If Davidson is occupying 3B in CHA, why isn't Silverio in B-Ham over Farrell or Curley? Don't get it, also don't look now but Jared Mitchell is batting .292 in his last 10 games in the LAA organization while Leury is batting .300 for CHA

With a top 10 pick and slot to burn and only 8 picks in the first 10 rounds, look for Chicago to take a safe RHP at 8 and follow him up with overslot picks in the later rounds, similar to Montes De Oca last year My Final Mock for next week: 1.8. Walker Buehler, RHP, Vandy 4.112. Rhett Wiseman, LF, Vandy 5.142. Grayson Long, RHP, TAMU 6.172. Tyler Ferguson, RHP, Vandy Late round fliers: Jamies Winston, RHP, FSU Octavio Arroyo, RHP, CA-HS We need a C with a bat already too, but not realstic for us to pick one early
-
Buehrle and AJ interest me, as does Plawecki
-
With the Draft in a week or so I know I realistically want Fulmer or Buehler
