  1. QUOTE (bear_brian @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 10:07 AM) Marcus Johnson starts in AAA. Tyler Saladino is a reserve; Sanchez starts at 2B. Micah I presume? Saladino had surgery, he won't be playing right away
  2. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 10:03 AM) Besides adding another cheap reliever (Axford, Bell, Michael Roth), starter (Chen, McGowan), or bench (Ichiro), I'm BEYOND happy with this offseason Hope our Opening Day team looks like this: Line-up: 1. Eaton, CF 2. Melky, LF 3. Abreu, 1B 4. LaRoche, DH 5. Garcia, RF 6. Gillaspie, 3B 7. Ramirez, SS 8. Flowers, C 9. Johnson, 2B Bench: Viciedo, Nieto, Sanchez, FA OFer Rotation: Sale, Samardzija, Quintana, Danks, Noesi 'Pen: Robertson, Duke, Jennings, Webb, Petricka, Rodon, Guerra I personally wanna dump Danks, trade for a young catcher, and still fix the 'pen up but I'm very satisfied

  4. Personally rather keep Tank, cheap contract, somewhat respectable numbers, nice bat off the bench and can be used at DH, 1B, 3B, LF, and RF I feel, our bench isn't too great (Nieto, Sanchez), please keep Tank, let's keep our bench and Cuban connection strong
  5. Hopefully we don't go wrong at pick 8, lotta guys I like in that top dozen or so: Matuella, Aiken, Buehler, Kirby, Funkhouser, Cameron, Swanson, Russell, Hooper, Fulmer, Bregman, Bickford
  6. Next Move: Shop Danks for some prospects, clears cap, dead weight, and adds prospects to our system to which we just lost a few low level guys, add a veteran OFer, and look around for a young cather
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 06:21 PM) I'd much rather have KRod on a short-term deal than Robertson for $50 million. Absolutely, I also think K-Rod is a better closer, Robertson still seems like a top notch set up man to me, please get Frankie, like the direction of this club
  8. I'd seriously be happy if he was our final addition
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 8, 2014 -> 09:26 AM) The more people object to Martinez the older he gets He won't be 36 until 12/23 . But he's looking for 3 years, i'll pass on Dunn 2.0 buddy boy
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 8, 2014 -> 09:18 AM) Didn't Youk rub a lot of teammates the wrong way with his attitude? Probably thinking of almost every other BoSox, not Youk, maybe Manny or Beckett or Lackey
  11. I expect us to miss out on V-Mart considering we're the f***in White Sox, which might be a good thing, don't wanna pay that a 37 year old, and grab Morales, other than that just grab me closer and some relief and I'll be happy, maybe some solid bench options
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 8, 2014 -> 09:13 AM) Many think Larry jones, youkilis, manny Ramirez and Beckett are jackasses. Aj isn't too popular outside of Chicago. Ortiz and arod....really? Jones and YOuk were pure class, much more exiciting time in baseball with Manny and Ortiz and AJ, that;s for sure, sorry Madison Bumgarner doesn't thrill me like Beckett did
  13. I like Travis Buck and NYY has 2 good Ps we can take (Venditte and Turley), Jefry Marte on OAK as well, Terry Doyle for s***s and giggles, Spencer Arroyo, Juan Silverio, I just skimmed through but they're all of interest
  14. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 02:08 PM) I haven't really been into baseball last couple of years as much as 2004 - 2010 but Rasmus never really impressed me during his time in St. Louis. Finally! another one, game looks worse and worse with guys like Puig over Chipper, Konerko, Thome, Jeter, Mo, Youk, Manny, Alfonso, Bobby Abreu, Brian Roberts, Josh Beckett, Dunn, Putz, AJ, and Ibanez...gimme those days back, only a few guys left life Papelbon, Ortiz, Pedrioa, A-Rod unfortunately, miss the old game, baseball and MLB will slowly die if they can't bring that back, it's sad
  15. QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 01:51 AM) From the Mets I would prefer Rafael Montero + Kevin Plawecki. This is about the only thing I'd trade alexei for and be happy with, rather keep Ramirez but getting a building block C in Plawecki and a very talented RHS is crucial, Anderson, Semien, Sanchez, Johnson all in our Farm
  16. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 07:44 AM) Sox end up with another teams sloppy seconds/thirds because they lacked the depth/money to acquire them when they were in their prime? Griffey Jr, Manny, Liriano, Peavy, Rios I'm sure there are more I can't think of Smh I'm sure we will have Cabrera in 6 years as well when detroit pays us to take him Lol Missed Dunn too, this V-Mart rumor is scaring me a little, but I'm not a fan of this FA class, just grab Masterson for cheap and I'll be thrilled, V-Mart is far passed his prime regardless of numbers, best years were in CLE
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 10:55 AM) Barf. I wish him well, but come on. Eh, great power hitter if that's what you're referring to, some (not me) consider him HOF
  18. I'll for one miss Adam, I appreciate everything he did for our Sox even after his 2011 season, great person, great teammate, great leader, and great hitter, best of luck Adam! (watch him not get traded and re-signed, just our luck)
  19. If I'm Hahn I have early targets a power bat, a veteran utility, a RHS, and two relievers (one lefty, one righty), and secure a top 10 protected pick I'd be going after Martinez on a 2-3 year deal for 30-45 million, Justin Masterson on a one year deal with options for '16 and '17, then k-Rod or Chris Perez to close, and Breslow from Boston C: Flowers, Phegley 1B: Abreu, Wilkins 2B: Micah Johnson 3B: Gillaspie SS: Alexei, Semein CF: Eaton LF: Viciedo, RF: Garcia DH: Martinez Rotation: Sale, Quintana, Masterson, Danks (until traded), Rodon Pen: Surkamp, Noesi, Petricka, Webb, Jones, Lindstrom, Putnam, Breslow
  20. As much as I don't wanna waste money or lose picks, this line-up needs some pop without Dunn, we just have Abreu and Garcia for pop and that's really it, Gillaspie is a great hitter but it's tough having a 3rd baseman that can't put it over the fence a little more, Hahn needs to pick up a RHS, couple relievers, and a bat or two at most
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 25, 2014 -> 10:03 AM) Well, #1, I'm sure he can because shoe shining is not difficult. #2, you failed to understand. If the Sox DIDN'T have Konerko on the roster, they could have used a guy who plays the infield a bit better as a backup and then they could have had Jordan Danks on the roster all year long too. Not that it matters in the loss column - they may have won a few more games - but because of Konerko's inability to play anything but 1B, they needed someone to play all over the diamond. Players with that ability don't always hit well. Enter Leury Garcia. If Paul Konerko is not on this roster, Leury Garcia is not on this roster. Thus, you are being incredibly hypocritical talking about the shortcomings of this team while applauding Konerko and his "veteran presence" on the bench because those two events are tied together. They are mutually inclusive events. There is cause and effect - the cause is that Paul Konerko is on the roster, so the effect is that Leury Garcia is also on the roster. Do you understand this yet or should I keep expounding? I imagine a 2015 bench of Wilkins, Leury Garcia, Semien, Sierra, and Nieto/Phegley, on the FA market I'd target AJ (for cheap), Hart (2 year deal), McDonald/Punto (cheap veteran bench) and maybe even Sizemore if anyone offensively for FA, pitching wise I think Masterson for cheap and with options for '16 and '17 is a must with some veteran relivers (McGowan, Bell, Perez, Hochevar, Breslow, Miller are names to look at)
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 11:03 PM) When he comes to KC for the final series, the Royals should give him some small token. He's hit a lot of home runs vs. Kansas City. I think they should give him some coupons to all the great legendary BBQ joints in town before Game One of the series. Maybe he could get away the day of the second and third games of the series for lunch. Have George Brett greet him at home plate with a signed ball from he and the current Royals saying thanks for the memories and give him the BBQ. Twins too, maybe Indians and Tigers, I'd be far beyond satisfied, amazing how underrated he is to this day, what a great player, that's what happens when you shut up and play the game right
  23. I've said his since we moved him away from 3B but Beckham belongs there, great D and put up great numbers, there was no need to move him, in the case he bats around .260-.270 next year on a different team at 3B with 12-15 HRs and 25-30 2Bs with roughly 60-70 RBIs, how pissed will you be and at whom? I'll be pissed at KW and RV at an extreme level, maybe even Ozzie
  24. Who's bright idea was it to hire RV over Terry Francona? Wanted Francona over anyone so badly, at this point RV is one of the worst managers in baseball? I'm already thinking about our next managerial search (hopefully soon), thought about Ozzie, PK, Thome, Frank...hopefully I see a return of a passionate Ozzie one day with Coop as his PC, PK as his HC, Baines and Cora back (only somewhat joking). The Ozzie regime (Ozzie, PK, AJ, Buerhle, Dye, Jenks) is a whole lot more exciting than the RV regime of laziness and laidback-ness, hopefully we see Sale, Quintana, Rodon, Abreu, Sanchez, Alexei, Eaton, and Avi all under new better management
  25. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 09:30 AM) I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, but the Yankees should do something. The Cubs did something. And the four division teams should do something for Konerko in September. Last opposing player to hit one out at the old Stadium as well, PK has some NYY history
