QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 03:37 PM) Our top prospect is Adrian Nieto. I wouldn't overpay for another catching prospect. You think he's the future? Hell no
-
Every contending team has a legitimate catcher, which means the Sox need a nice young one, how do we get his, FA is poor and drafting one takes too long, our top Catching prospects are probably Phegley, Smith, and Austin but I don't see a close legitimate option, how do we acquire one? Trades I assume, I'd move Danks to NYY for O'Brien/Sanchez and a s*** pitcher if possible, hell I may be outta my mind or maybe just desperate but I'd even look to swap Tim Anderson for Kevin Plawecki of NYM, Flowers shows flashes but he's not the future

Gonna see Kanny tonight live
-
Second night in a row watching Kanny live, saw both games of DH: -more stellar D from "Ski" as PRJ calls him -lotta speed and D from Engel, plays hard like Eaton too, dirtbag status? (check his last 10 in KAN, big revival) -Brito is way taller than listed -Ski was killing the ball tonight -Austin had solid D, above average arm, frames every pitch -McKenzie had nothing special to him but is groundball pitcher, eventually got hit hard

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 11:10 PM) 29 strikeouts to 2 walks in 21.2 IP. Is that good He's gonna be good, like really good, I see him tearing up the Sally League too next year
-
Saw Kanny live tonight, great game -Trey showed great D again, definitely top 10 prospect -Leyer has interesting mechanics and throws a palm ball and actually did decent, he was getting hit hard though after a while, ranged from 78-94 -Leonards has speed, as does Engel -Thomore looked great last time I saw him but now he's hacking at anything -Morris's game ending throw was no error, hit the runner, cheap win

QUOTE (ron883 @ Jul 24, 2014 -> 10:34 PM) This dude has seemingly becme on of the sox best hitting prospects. Guy is an on base machine. How do you think he'll do in the majors? Is it time for AAA for him? No need to rush im but I'd love to see him in AAA by the end of the year, AFL too if possible, may be legitimate prospect if he develops power or switches positions

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 10:36 AM) Don't look now, but Nestor Molina has a 0.57 ERA over his last 15.2 innings. He's given up five hits, walked one, and struck out ten over that span. I know he was horribly misjudged by Kenny Williams and whatever scout said he was close to being a major league starter, but could he be a useful bullpen piece? Totally forgot about him, please add him to the big league Pen

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 10:43 AM) Tim Anderson? Wasn't a fan of his selection either at the time but he's great offensively, will probably have to move to OF though, maybe 2B but we're crowded there

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 10:33 AM) I did a double take when I saw Adam's line. That is filthy. Same here, let's hope he continues this all the way up to ChiCity

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 10:26 AM) At this point, sure. But Walker did much better in Kanny in his first year there than Engel is doing now - that is the way to compare results. Of course results are not the same as tools. Wasn't a fan of Walker since the draft, but I probably viewed him with too high of expectations considering he was our 1st pick in the late 40s, hate the idea of an early picked JUCO kid

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 10:15 AM) There's been some talk about Adam Engel. Nathaniel Stoltz of Fangraphs did this piece today, going into some detail, including video. His profile is seemingly an exact match with a White Sox player from a few decades ago - Gary Redus. Plus athlete, plus-plus speed, a little pop, poor contact and hit tool, pull tendency and over-swing tendency, excellent defensive range, strong arm. What are people's thoughts? In some ways he's similar to a guy like Keenyn Walker, but I think Engel has more pop. I like Engela whole lot more than Walker, Walker was a bust in my opinion, not even prospective

Very excited to see 2015 Kanny with Adams, Frye, Adolfo, Peter, lotta potential prospects

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 11:16 PM) That's good to know about Narvaez. I wish they would play him more. He seems very age reasonable for his position for the league, and he seems to be a good contact hitter with good plate discipline. If he starts showing some power, he should rise through the ranks. He really does deserve more playing time, saw him play recently in April or May and he was just killing the ball for Kanny, good defensively as well

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 11:39 PM) No, remember that the Sox hired Robin with the assumption and expectation that team would be rebuilding. Honestly I do not see the team being competitive till 2016, and I expected them to win around 75 games this year. I agree and by then I think we'll be competitive for about 5-6 years, the team should hopefully be loaded by 2016 all around, I can't take this rebuild but it's alot better than when we "retooled" with Manny and Dunn and Griffey and Rios and Peavy and Teahen

Baseball America White Sox Mid Season Top 10
ChiSoxJon replied to GGajewski18's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 09:33 AM) Since the days of Jon Rauch and Matt Ginter, when Baseball America loved the early days of Kenny Stanford and rated the Sox system #1 Believe it was 2000. How'd the system get so s***ty? Even in 2007 it wasn't so bad, but I guess trades and poor drafting added to it and the Latin American scandal Poorly drafted: Broadway, McCullouch, Lumsden Traded Away: Richard, Poreda, Hudson, Gio -
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 11:00 PM) Give me a week, I'm still getting info. Ill try to have a list of players, along with their vitals and a small scouting report. Thank you, I'm looking forward to this

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 10:09 AM) Wheeler and Guerrero are interesting. Mitchell is too but look at his walks. And why do people still seem to forget that the heart of the White Sox pen was taken out early on with the two most likely closer candidates, Jones and Lindstrom, going down early? Few bullpens in baseball could take that without struggling. Lindstrom was very mediocre anyway, and Jones had no closer experience, still prefer him as a set-up man for what should be Reed...or reincarnated Jenks...Reed probably could have gave us a dozen more wins this first half alone
-
How big of prospects are Wheeler, Guerrero, and Mitchell: Wheeler: 3.38 ERA, 78K is 64IP Guerrero: 6-0, 2.95 ERA, 46K in 42IP Mitchell: 3-2, 5.25 ERA, 64K in 48IP All key pieces to Kanny's near firstplace team and bullpen, take notice Ken and Rick, champs have fully rounded teams and an actual 'pen...not some clusterf*** valued at s***

Alec Rash from Mizzou I'd welcome aboard in the early rounds

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 01:30 AM) s***, there was some slugging 2B that I had seen in another list that I really wanted to see come to the Sox. His last name was Kyle I think. Too lazy to look him up. Couldn't help you because I don't know any power hitting 2B besides Bregman from LSU

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 10:51 PM) I was going to do more HS guys than college players Well go ahead and post that my man

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 11:00 PM) If I already had Tommy John at a young age, I would sign with the Sox and not take the risk of injuring myself again in college. Same here as a Sox fan, but I'd need significant money, almost 500,000 to be honest to be satisfied
