QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2014 -> 11:46 PM) I am guessing extended spring training, but I haven't heard anything for sure. pretty sure he is, hopefully he doesn't bust out, have faith in him

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 20, 2014 -> 01:15 PM) Are you talking about World Series 2015 or World Series 2016-2018? Because that's probably what we're looking at here, optimistically. Abreu= PK Avi= Dye Davidson= Crede (hopefully) Alexei= Uribe Eaton= Pods Sale= Buehrle Jones= Cotts Pretty good foundation if you ask me...mix that with some FAs and Hawkins, maybe Thompson, Chris Beck, Micah Johnson, and guys like Zapata, high ranked international FAs (seems realistic with Paddy and going after Abreu and Tanaka) and our #3 draft pick and that may be a short lived dynasty or at the least very exciting SouthSide ball

My answer to our pitching BS: Move Paulino to DL and when he returns to Pen, if he still struggles cut him. Call up Rienzo in his place in the rotation and if he struggles send him back down for either Leesman or Beck. Our bullpen should eventually feauture: Jones, Cleto, Lindstrom, Webb, Downs, Belisario, and Paulino as the long man...actually f*** that it still looks like s***

While I really like Beede in the first for us at 3 I really like SC-HS RHP Grant Holmes, FSU RHP Luke Weaver, and TX-HS RHP Michael Kopech later on in the 2nd or 3rd. While Beede can be Sale-like in the sense that he can arrive this year or in 2015 the other 3 or likely projects that may take a few years and pay-off in the long run. I'd really like a 2015 rotation of Sale, Beede, Quintana, Danks, and Johnson.

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Apr 16, 2014 -> 11:29 AM) Winston-Salem and Kannapolis both underway. Early home run for Jacob Morris. Error number 7 for Basto in this his 10th game of the season. Basto should be in Kanny IMO

I know he had TJ last year but where the hell is he? Threw two beauties when I saw him pitch

FutureSox Interview Season getting underway
ChiSoxJon replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
Dykstra: How do you see yourself as a pitcher? How do you see yourself in MLB? What stuff do you throw? How's life in SoCal? How was your time at LSU compared to CSSM? Rather pitch in Hickory during SAL ASG or WS as another rotation member? Best opponent you've faced? Engel: Describe yourself as a player, 5 tool? Ever meet Teddy Bridgewater? Favorite L-Ville team besides baseball? How crazy was it at L-Ville when L-Ville won both Hoops titles, a volleyball title, and made it to CWS? As a big Ohio State Football fan (so is Brad Goldberg in WS), explain to me why Shazier deserved a Heisman nominee over Te'o in 2013 (I completely think that) Toughest P faced? Both: Goals for 2014? How do you like Kanny and the rest of the SALLY League? Favorite town so far? Future road trip most excited about? Favorite MLB team? Favorite MLB player? Favorite ChiSox player? Borat or Bruno? (we all know it's Borat) Fan of instant replay in MLB? (certainly not) How was the draft experience? Who's really been helping you out in ChiSox organization? What coaches and players? (both in ST and Minors) Pumped for NHL Playoffs? Favorite teammates in Kanny? -

Does anyone know if Jose Bautista the P on Kanny is related to Jose Bautista the pitching coach on Kanny?

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Feb 26, 2014 -> 06:33 PM) Baseball America moved Murphy from #18 to #4 on the Yankees top prospect list from 2013 to 2014. Fangraphs from #15 to #2. Swap Keppiloser for him, I don't care if he's Phegley 2.0, dump that contract and gain a prospect, do it Hahn

QUOTE (Señor Ding-Dong @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 02:50 PM) An organizational depth chart would be awesome. Agreed, I know the BoSox prospect website has one, really cool feature, ton of information

How can this not be AJ for everybody? -
Where prospects are expected to begin 2014, projected rosters (especially Kanny for me)

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 09:52 AM) White Sox released a whole bunch of minor league pitchers... RHP: Cal Bowling, David Haselden, JR Ballinger, James Hudelson, Jason Van Skike, Jeremy Erben LHP: Max Peterson, Todd Kibby I saw Van Skike pitch multiple times in 2013 and 2012 for Kanny, got to speak with him as well, great guy, wish him all the best, one of the rare purely good people in this world

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 08:10 AM) With about 6 outfielders in the mix for 2014, the Yankees are looking to deal Brett Gardner in exchange for starting pitching. IMO this would be a great opportunity to improve CF both defensively and offensively. One area of strength the Sox do possess is starting pitching. My question for you is what type of package would you put together for New York? http://m.espn.go.com/mlb/story?storyId=10096712 I literally have no interest in picking up a 30 year old bunter, much rather play the youth

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 05:09 PM) With the Marco Paddy connection, it just seems like destiny. Why? He has a solid average and seems consistent, no power or speed but looks like he doesn't strike out much, also seems like he's always injured playing limited games year after year

Dan Burawa, Chad James, Deck McGuire

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 10, 2013 -> 10:25 PM) Well, he was drafted as a shortstop. A Sox scout gave me a pretty strong indication that Basto can't actually play SS, apparently he just can't handle it. A Sox pitching prospect, who was running clipboard at a game I was at, concurred (in so far as he could do so). If the stats mean anything, he made 24 errors at SS in 2012 with Bristol, for a .892 FPct. He also posted a .465 OPS with Kanny this year, playing 3B, and his defense in terms of FPct was actually worse (.868). He's going to be 20 so he certainly has time, but I got the impression he's basically out of the picture now. At age 20 for next year he's too young to truly, totally give up on him. He'll likely repeat Kanny. But he's being lapped by other infielders and I think he's just not really seen as a prospect by the Sox at this point. Obviously I hope he turns it around. As do I and I think he will, I've seen a guy named Kelly Dugan in the Philly organization get drafted in the second round in 2009 and struggle until 2012 in the Sally League, patience and hard work pays off

I love this guy I saw him play in NJ when he was with Kanny several times, love his size, numbers, and if I recall correctly he's a funny guy (once saw him reading a book in between a double header, also saw him throw peanuts at teammates to celebrate a GW homer from his teammate Blanke), feel free to question this, unfortunately I haven't seen him since then, thanks a lot, lookin forward to this interview

Jason finished 2013 in Kanny where he dominated with a .271 BA, 12 HRs, 84 RBIs, 12 SB, 38 Doubles, 3 triples, 21 walks, and OPS of .747. He looks to start 2014 in Winston-Salem and continues his road to The Show.

Jaye had a strong 2013 campaign starting every single appearance (28) over 2 levels (A-AA). He finished 2013 with 13-8 record and a 3.92 ERA (huge improvement). He also Kd 129 in 163 innings while walking 63. The oppostion batted .266 against him. Although he struggled in his first and only AA start in 2013, he looks to start 2014 in B-Ham.

Kyle Hansen finished his first full year with a record of 6-9 with a 4.10 ERA making 20 starts in 21 games with 1 save in 96.2 innings. Kyle gave up 109 hits, 57 runs, 44 ER, 7 HRs, 27 walks while King out 103. He finished with a GO/AO of 1.11 and an AVG against of .282. The lanky righty looks to start 2014 in Winston-Salem, most likely in the rotation.
