  1. Matt has no stones.. Bottom of the line up. Get out of this s***!
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:50 PM) Especially when considering how badly the bottom of the line-up with DeAza, Flowers and Danks looks, then Leury Garcia and Konerko instead of Gillaspie and Dunn. Until the last 7-10 days, Semien was looking like he would have been better off playing SS every day at Charlotte. Small miracles. And Abreu. Its gotta be that will to win!!
  3. At least its good to see Danish can still be successful if he isn't striking people out
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:43 PM) Exactly what happened! And I am more then content. If we would have lost with him giving up 4 runs in 6 innings I would not put the blame on him at all. Great job for a 5th starter to go 6+ against the favorite in the division.
  5. Lindstrom or Webb in the 9th? I hope Webb but I know it is going to be Lindstrom
  6. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:36 PM) Nobody in baseball hits the ball weakly enough to have just 1 in every 6.5 balls put in play result in hits. Not to say he doesn't have some issues this year. He's walking a bit less, striking out a bit more (although you could put down a lot, if not all, of that to BS check swing calls), and looks anxious at the plate. But to say he's "worthless" is silly hyperbole. It may well be that he's less valuable than he has been, but that doesn't mean he won't still be valuable, or that you can even make a judgement after a little over 3 weeks. I guarantee you that if you took whomever is your favourite hitter on the team, I could find you a 3-week stretch where he hit about as badly*. *unless it's Jose Abreu. I understand every player usually goes through bad stretches and he won't hit this poorly all year but I don't get how you can say that based off that stat. I can say it because I have watched enough baseball in my life and have seen De Aza play enough to know he won't hit THIS poorly all year.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:33 PM) No pinch runner? I think our only healthy option is Nieto or Dunn if I am not mistaken
  8. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:23 PM) It's pretty relevant when you have people freaking out about players in late April. A look at the box score for our game on this day of last season and we have players batting: .100 .125 .188 S*it happens in a small sample-size. If De Aza is still hitting like this in a month, come back to me. For now I'll go ahead and side with the much greater track record and the fact that balls just aren't falling for him. You can't tell me De Aza has been hitting the ball hard. He has had some s***ty check swing calls on him, I will give him that. But he hasn't been hitting the ball hard enough for me to say balls aren't falling for him
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:20 PM) Did we not send down Leesman today? No, he is starting against the Rays
  10. QUOTE (bulokis @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:17 PM) I would take him over Paulino. I don't know anyone who wouldn't
  11. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:11 PM) De Aza is not worthless. He's been worth comfortably over 2 fWAR for 3 straight years. It's April 23rd, his BABIP is .156 and he's still not been worth negative fWAR because of his defence. Relax. There it is!! A game day thread is not complete until Feeky mentions that awful stat
  12. Not sure why Rienzo is coming back out. He did a fine job in 6 innings as the 5th man..
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:09 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 1m All three of Semien's homers have come in seventh inning or later to give Sox the lead. C-L-U-T-C-H
