QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 19, 2013 -> 09:39 AM) While Breaking Bad was really good again, that episode of Dexter was the best one I can remember for years. The scene where Zack, Dexter, and Hannah were eating together just had some ROFL lines in. "I guess there are no vegetarians here..." That was just great stuff. It was a great episode but the end threw me a bit. I like Hannah.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) Damn you whitesox. There isn't even a player on the 40 man wearing that number. Would help alot of people who already have #34 Garcia jerseys too. Gavin Floyd wears 34. Don't think we can give it to him yet -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 03:15 PM) I've still got to figure the White Sox would target position players here. I hope so too, but you never know at this point. I would like one of their young international guys

QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 03:10 PM) Alfaro would be my top priority, but after that I think it would go Odor then Sardinas. Agreed, I think Alfaro would be a great get. But that is their top prospect and Sardinas is their 2nd. Odor could be reasonable, I hope. If not I would go with Mazara or Luke Jackson if we want SP

Thank god. Need Garcia up on the big league team to help my fantasy baseball team!!

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 08:34 PM) Sickels says Semien could be a regular if he maxes out his tools. Was hoping for a little better write up. Link. I am really starting to believe he might be like a Ian Desmond type. I don't what position he will stick at though.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 08:30 PM) Beckham goes deep 4-1 Yankees. Nice to see him show some power. Hopefully he can get up to 15 next year if he has a healthy season

Garcia also has 2 walks. Who said he didn't have the plate discipline

Carlos Sanchez taken out of the game

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 06:45 PM) http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20130807 Semien double, Garcia walk. Hopefully those 2 are staples in the White Sox line up for years to come

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 10:52 AM) I disagree. Those cases are the exception and not the rule. While most of your points are valid, that power has to come from somewhere. It doesn't have to be 200 homers but power is important. Machado doesn't have big HR numbers but their CF and SS hit for power. Their Catcher is capable of hitting for power as well. The Cubs of the 90's were able to survive with Grace at 1B because they had a 2B who hit for power. Trust me I understand what you are saying but the White Sox cannot get outslugged in their own park. If the White Sox are going to play in US Cellular Field they need to hit for a good amount of power in my opinion. There is no rule. I know I am in the minority but we don't need tons of home runs to win. Hasn't worked and it won't continue to work. Viciedo, Dunn, Garcia, and Rios/De Aza will provide home runs. We need guys that do more then that which we don't have on this current team.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 12:55 AM) Economics. Teams need power. Power hitters who can play corner positions are more plentiful, thus they are cheaper to obtain. If you try to get your power from CF, C, SS and 2b, you have to pay more for it... it is scarce. Thus, it is a more efficient use of resources to take your power at the corners. That's also why it's worthwhile to give our new acquisition a fair look in CF. False. They don't need it. St. Louis is 27th in the league in home runs with 83 and have one of the best records in the league. If you can get enough hitters at the top of the line up that get on base (can be singles, walks, HBP, anything to get on) and have the middle of the order be able to get hits with those runners on base is all you need. There always has been the stigma that corner infield and outfield players need to put up good power numbers. That isn't the case. Teams can win without hitting home runs all the time. And you don't have to have tons of power in order to get doubles. Manny Machado- 9 home runs, but 39 doubles and he plays 3B. James Loney- 10 HR but is batting .313 Playing 1B for Tampa Bay who has the 2nd best record in the AL. We don't NEED hitters at 1st or 3rd or LF or RF that are going to all hit at least 20 home runs. I just don't understand why everyone thinks that a certain player can't play a position because he doesn't have enough power. If the guy can play good defense and gets on base he can play wherever the hell he wants

How has Carlos Sanchez looked in his AB's

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2013 -> 07:28 PM) Sale, a couple of number two starters and a couple of number three starters would be pretty solid. Yep, we really don't need another "#1" because we already have one. so if he can be a 3 or 4 guy it would be perfect

QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Aug 2, 2013 -> 06:49 PM) I'm not sure he's a good enough offensive player to be a first baseman. I'm also not sure if he's a good enough offensive player to be a left fielder. I hate this. Sorry but I don't like the stigma that a corner outfielder or first baseman has to have a certain amount home runs or power. Viciedo has power. If he can hit the ball that is all that matters. Hitting with RISP is more important then how many home runs he will get. Viciedo will consistently put up at least 15 home runs in a full season, closer to 20 I think. If he can do that and hit better then .270 I would be fine with that. Why does a 3B, 1B, RF, and LF have to have a certain amount of power?? We need players who get on base and can knock people in who are on base. Look at the Cardinals. Allen Craig has 11 home runs this year, a lot of power? Nope, but he gets hits. That is all we need.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 2, 2013 -> 04:40 PM) So do you think that happened because of Trishelle and Sarah getting booted on a guys' week last week? That is exactly it. Didn't want uneven sides and also the show would of been shorter if they didn't take a week off
