  1. Montgomery is throwing out the first pitch in Chicago I believe.
  2. Leury is a garbage time monster beating up on shitty teams. He will absolutely be exposed in the playoffs if he's put in the lineup every day. 2021 splits Teams over .500: .188/.274/.238 Teams under .500: .301/.364/.441 High Leverage: .191/.273/.213 Med Leverage: .187/.271/.333 Low Leverage: .320/.385/.426
  3. I love Billy and he does seem like a typical 26th man type for a playoff team but he has no place on a team that has a healthy Luis Robert and Adam Engel.
  4. Moncada was in the category "team-controlled but value is down" category of honorable mention. Included in the group is Alonso (noticeably less power this year), Castillo (horrific first couple months of '21), Chapman (.696 OPS, leads league in K's), DeJong (sub .300 OBP), Lux (injured, not performing well), Luzardo (getting tagged in AAA), Snell (has been awful this year), Paddack (5.49 ERA), & Gleyber Torres (.658 OPS). Doesn't seem like Moncada should be in this group. He's not hitting for power but is playing excellent D and getting on base with the best in the league. I would definitely take him over some of the guys who made the top 50.
  5. Lord does that kid's finish look like the Unit. Sucks he is a Sparks kid ?
  6. I am less concerned about a guy's batting average when he's walking 19% of the time and has a .266 BABIP.
  7. Haven't seen him enough to speak to it. Looking ahead, the Sox hand is kind of forced to make some judgement on Ramos and others in A ball. I imagine the Sox send Montgomery/Kath to play the left side of the infield in the ACL at least to start but they'll be in Kanny eventually and I imagine the Sox anticipate bringing them through the system together as the left side of the infield if at all possible. There is going to be some movement soon. I am interested in seeing how the Sox handle all of Yolbert Sanchez/Ramos/Rodriguez/Sosa/Gladney when Montgomery/Kath come along. Should be some good insight in who the Sox are prioritizing.
  8. With the way TLR uses Foster he was not even worth the roster spot. He was used so sparingly I am okay with having Lopez ready in case Cease/Gio get pounded or something goes awry in Monday's DH. He's in Chicago with the team but you're right that he's the only part of this 4 player set of transactions that isn't official. Makes me wonder if Lopez is a contingency and the Sox are close to acquiring the reliever they will surely bring in this month.
  9. More of the same at Kanny... Ramos getting his walks, Krogman walking and K'ing, Mendoza keeps getting his.
  10. They should bring him up to AAA at this point. Time is of the essence with his lack of options. Of course he was 4 up 4 down when the game got bagged yesterday. I am not giving up on Lambert (still so close to TJ and such a weird recovery) or Stiever but the Sox need some depth for the rotation so hopefully Pilkington continues to develop. I imagine one of Lambert/Stiever gets moved this month too.
  11. Kade McClure has been pitching well. He had a 9-run, 11-baserunner 1.1IP clunker in May that dug him a huge hole but ERA down to 4.13 on the year. More K's than innings pitched and over 3K's per walk. In his last 3 starts he has a 1.29 ERA with 15/4 K/BB over 14 innings.
  12. Rasiel Iglesias, Ian Kennedy, Daniel Hudson, Richard Rodrgiuez,
  13. Plus they already have Kopech who has excelled as a starter in the previous DH games. This should be something other than a spot start. Whether it be he's a part of a trade or DFA'd to make room for an acquisition. I just hope it's not result of an injury. Lambert went 1 inning his last time out. Stiever has not been having great success so it's not as if the Sox are flush with starting options. Should add Lopez is coming off his best start of the year. Perhaps he swayed a scout that was there to see him on Friday?
  14. He is still a ways away. He looks very promising but I wouldn't neglect the RF position this offseason to keep him open necessarily. They need a LH bat in the everyday lineup. Conforto fit is too perfect. Especially with a buy low opportuninty. I would agree but I don't know how they go about rostering two additional relief arms (40 man). I think they'll acquire one though. Bummer will come back. Heuer will continue to bounce back. I don't think the pen is bad enough to risk them losing the division. With additional rest in the playoffs, Sox should be okay with Hendriks, Bummer, Kopech, Heuer, Crochet and the acquired arm.
  15. A lot of people did. Might be just a Washington state thing.
  16. Interesting. Which charge is that standard for? I know he's either charged with multiple offenses or there are talks of additional charges for the hit and run. At least I saw his wife came out said he didn't hurt anyone in the family. Hopefully just a stupid drunk episode.
  17. He'll make a ton of sense. I am for upgrading 2B and waiting to the offseason to figure out RF.
  18. You denied my request to stop responding. If you will oblige I won't respond anymore.
  19. The portion of the population that is obese is more likely to be hospitalized from COVID per your own analysis above. Also, the portion of Americans that are overweight due to musculature are not the individuals that are getting hospitalized. So the 70% you quote (my research shows a little bit lower but not materially), X% of that 70% is healthy people. Additionally, people measuring as obese make up over half of the hospitalizations. The CDC's findings are specific: "among those under age 65. As BMI rose, so did the risk, the CDC found." "The risks for hospitalization, ICU admission and death were lowest among those with BMIs under 25. The "healthy weight" BMI range is between 18.5 and 24.9." But go on trying to poke holes in the CDC's statistical findings just to disagree with me. I think it would be beneficial if our society understood the risks of being obese/overweight. https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/public-health/78-of-covid-19-patients-hospitalized-in-the-us-overweight-or-obese-cdc-finds.html
  20. That sounds really reasonable and simple to implement.
  21. Professor Balta, what type of individuals are likely to develop type 2 diabetes and hypertension? If you're using BMI sure. Do you think muscular, fit people that are overweight are getting hospitalized from COVID? Why do you take exception to the clear and convincing findings of the data?
  22. I guess your testimonial evidence should throw out all of the data then huh.
  23. I don't want you to respond to my posts because when you get proven wrong you use your administrative powers to settle scores. And your post wasn't valid. You think the treatment of the general population should be dictated by one individual with some outlier immune issue.
  24. You're being obtuse. Just stop responding to my posts.
