  1. He's a vet catcher and non-roster invitee. At the plate, I don't know but he he's a better catcher than Collins and Mercedes.
  2. He hasn't been playing lately so its possible. Collins is making the team for sure. Looks like there is some tweets in Spanish that Yermin has made the team but I don't know that for sure.
  3. Rodon has 5 strike outs through 3. The other four outs weren't hit to Vaughn.
  4. People were just saying how Collins should be dumped for a reliever a few days ago. Look at his physique. The strides this kid has made physically is encouraging. If he makes more contact this season like I expect him to he's going to be at least a league average bat from the left side.
  5. Yeah and the Sox never acquired any veterans for the purpose of flipping at the deadline with any success. Could have brought in more assets if they targeted more marketable veterans. Edicts - an official order or proclamation issued by a person of authority. ex. - COVID curfews, capacity limits, etc. You realize the rate of which people are being vaccinated right? Why will the bills be come due soon if the most vulnerable are vaccinated and most others are in the process of being vaccinated? Do we just live in fear forever even if there's a vaccinated public and herd immunity? I didn't say anything about Florida's leadership. I spoke about the data. You don't like the implications of what the data shows. I never said anything about indoor venues. You find it hilarious that I insinuated about indoor venues - reread my post from the lens of someone without your imagination. I responded to the data provided by a mod who brought up the subject. Everything I said was supported by the data that mod provided. You're sure a mod will delete your post because you're bit is the name calling and trying to take down others and you do this all the time. Give it a rest.
  6. You wonder where all the money not spent from 2017-2019 when the Sox were trying to suck went. Plus, the Sox have not increased their payroll commensurately with the league-wide increases. JR will likely point to the 2020 COVID losses for years to come.
  7. The correlation you're implying (opening up leads to more COVID) isn't backed by any data. Cases don't matter as much as hospitalizations and deaths do. They're still declining. Michigan has some of the most strict COVID edicts in the country. Minnesota is strict too. They are leading the country with increases. Florida and Texas are allowing the people to make their own decisions for their well being (novel concept), cases, hospitalizations and deaths are all trending down. And their economies are in the best shape of any in the union. I am not expecting the data running contrary to your opinion to change said opinion, but those are the facts from the link you provided.
  8. In our ballpark, with Robert in CF it really shouldn't be that big of an issue to have Vaughn in LF for the first 7 innings. When Engel is in RF we should still have a plus outfield. There are fewer shorter tasks in sports than playing LF at Guaranteed Rate Field. If you can keep yourself from getting hurt, you don't even have to be serviceable on D.
  9. R SS Anderson L RF Eaton R 1B Abreu S 3B Moncada S C Grandal R CF Robert L DH Collins R LF Vaughn R 2B Madrigal
  10. Yermin is not a catcher. His receiving looks like someone who doesn't know what pitch is coming.
  11. Could be wrong, but it looks like Eloy is going to be okay. Nothing crazy like a dislocation or anything. I really hope someone is talking to him though. He really struggles with the concept of a wall.
  12. With that in mind, the Yankees lineup doesn't look so hot if Stanton and Judge are struggling with injuries and not knowing exactly what to expect from Torres, Voit and LeMahieu.
  13. What I would do. RHP/LHP 1. TA/TA 2. Moncada/Robert 3. Abreu/Eloy 4. Eloy/Abreu 5. Grandal/Moncada 6. Robert/Grandal 7. Vaughn/Vaughn 8. Eaton/Engel 9. Madrigal/Madrigal What I expect from TLR 1. Anderon/Anderson 2. Eaton/Robert 3. Abreu/Abreu 4. Moncada/Moncada 5. Eloy/Eloy 6. Grandal/Grandal 7. Robert/Vaughn 8. Vaughn/Engel 9. Madrigal/Madrigal
  14. Bauer complained and complained about the Astros foreign substance use (b/f their garbage can cheating scandal went public). Nobody listened to Bauer. Nobody did anything about it. As a result, Bauer has seemingly done the same as Cole and others. At least his spin rates support it and he has tacitly admitted to it. I don't know how to find it, but he has tweets and video clips where he is basically saying he's using something because the league is allowing it. To be clear, it is not necessarily pine tar. It is a foreign substance. Supposedly the Astros were using something clear.
  15. Lopez signed a Major League deal to avoid arbitration in January. So he''ll be paid $2.1M regardless of where he plays.
  16. Good points and I too like Carlson
  17. Arozarena and Kelenic are problems, but Vaughn has some pretty favorable odds for AL ROY.
  18. He had 14 outings in September. If he pitched that much every month, that would be an 84 appearance year. No pitcher has appeared in 84 games since 2011.
  19. Team player. Wish him the best in his recovery. As others have said, Ricky abused him and it ended up tanking his stats. Whether it was coming into a jam, coming in for mop up work or putting one in Contreras' ribs, Jimmy always did what he was asked.
  20. I guess guys have to get regular as we near the start of the season but kind of weird to see divisional foes pitch rotation members against each other.
